Description
The present invention is a composite film formed of the functional layer on the thin film of the strip, about manufacturing method of the example fuel cell membrane-catalyst layer assembly.
In recent years, fuel cells have attracted attention as drive power sources for automobiles, homes, mobile phones and the like. A fuel cell is a power generation system that generates electric power by an electrochemical reaction between hydrogen (H 2 ) contained in fuel and oxygen (O 2 ) in the air, and has a feature of high power generation efficiency and light environmental load. .
There are several types of fuel cells depending on the electrolyte used, one of which is a polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) using an ion exchange membrane (electrolyte membrane) as the electrolyte. ) Since the polymer electrolyte fuel cell can operate at room temperature and can be reduced in size and weight, it is expected to be applied to automobiles and portable devices.
The membrane / electrode assembly used in a polymer electrolyte fuel cell is a composite membrane in which a catalyst layer is formed as a functional layer on both surfaces of an electrolyte thin film. A unit cell is configured by disposing a gas diffusion layer and a separator on both sides of the membrane / electrode assembly. Such a membrane / electrode assembly is produced by applying an electrode ink (electrode paste) in which a catalyst containing platinum (Pt) is dispersed in a solvent such as alcohol to the surface of the electrolyte membrane. However, the electrolyte membrane has a property that it easily absorbs the solvent contained in the electrode ink and the moisture in the atmosphere, and thus easily swells and shrinks. For this reason, there has been a problem that wrinkles and pinholes are generated in the electrolyte membrane when the electrode ink is applied and dried. If soot or pinholes occur in the electrolyte membrane, the power generation performance of the fuel cell will be reduced.
In order to solve such a problem,
However, in the techniques disclosed in
This invention is made | formed in view of the said subject, and it aims at providing the manufacturing method of the membrane-catalyst layer assembly which can suppress a deformation | transformation of an electrolyte membrane over the whole conveyance after the time of coating. .

Therefore, the deformation of the electrolyte membrane can be suppressed over the entire conveyance after coating.

As the
The
In the
The

The
The
FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating the configuration of the

The catalyst particles may be so-called catalyst-supported carbon powder in which catalyst fine particles are supported on carbon powder. The average particle size of the catalyst-supporting carbon is usually about 10 nm to 100 nm, preferably about 20 nm to 80 nm, and most preferably about 40 nm to 50 nm. The carbon powder supporting the catalyst fine particles is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include carbon black such as channel black, furnace black, ketjen black, acetylene black, and lamp black, graphite, activated carbon, carbon fiber, and carbon nanotube. A solvent is added to the catalyst particles as described above to obtain a paste that can be applied from a slit nozzle. As the solvent, water, ethanol, alcohols such as n-propanol and n-butanol, and organic solvents such as ethers, esters and fluorines can be used.

As an example, carbon black supporting 50 wt% platinum (“TEC10E50E” manufactured by Tanaka Kikinzoku Kogyo Co., Ltd.) is dispersed in water, ethanol, propylene glycol and a polymer electrolyte solution (Nafion liquid “D2020” manufactured by DuPont, USA).

The drying
The three drying

The

Moreover, the
The
Furthermore, the
Next, a processing procedure in the composite
First, the electrolyte
In the
The
The
Further, the surface roughness of the outer peripheral surface of the
As shown in FIG. 6, when the
Next, electrode ink is applied from the
In the present embodiment, the coating
The total runout of the
The width of each
Next, the rotation of the
FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view of the
The drying
In the present embodiment, the drying
In order to properly dry the
Further, the drying
Further, the drying

The
FIG. 10 is a diagram illustrating a state in which the

By the way, in the
For this reason, a plurality of
Even in such a case, the outer peripheral surface of the
In the first embodiment, the
Therefore, the
As described above, the
In this embodiment, when the electrode ink is applied, the

FIG. 11 is a side view of the composite

In the
The
Next, electrode ink is applied from the
In the second embodiment, on the basis of the result of specifying the formation position of the

<3. Third Embodiment>
Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the third embodiment, electrode ink is applied twice on one surface of the
The
The configuration itself of the
About the process sequence in the
Next, the rotation of the
In the third embodiment, on the
Due to the rotation of the
Thereafter, by further rotation of the

Also in the third embodiment, when the electrode ink is applied, the

<4.変形例>

While the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention can be modified in various ways other than those described above without departing from the spirit of the present invention. For example, in each of the above embodiments, the
Moreover, in each said embodiment, although the three drying
Moreover, you may make it provide the heat interruption | blocking zone similar to the said embodiment between the adjacent drying zones. If it does in this way, the mutual interference of the hot air blown from the adjacent drying zone can be prevented.
Further, when the

Further, instead of the
Alternatively, cooling water may be flowed into the
Further, the position of the
Further, the production technique according to the present invention is not limited to the application to the production of the membrane /
The present invention can be applied to a manufacturing technique of a composite film in which a functional layer is formed on a thin film that is easily deformed by swelling / shrinking and then coated with a coating liquid and dried.
