Description
The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire having improved steering stability and hydro performance (particularly, hydro performance at a high load such as cornering).
。 As a tread pattern of a conventional pneumatic tire, a tire in which a plurality of circumferential main grooves extending in the tire circumferential direction and a plurality of inclined lateral grooves extending across the circumferential main grooves are generally known. In such a tread pattern, the tire mainly drains in the front-rear direction of the tire through the circumferential main groove, and drains to the side of the tire through the inclined lateral groove, thereby ensuring the tire drainage performance (for example, (See Patent Document 1).
In a tire having such a tread pattern, as a means for improving drainage performance, it is useful to increase a groove area ratio, that is, a so-called negative ratio on a tread surface by increasing a groove width or the like. However, if the negative rate is simply increased, the block rigidity is lowered and sufficient steering stability performance cannot be obtained. It has also been found that if the negative rate is increased and the block is reduced, the block will be easily deformed so that it will fall down during wet running, and the groove will be blocked, leading to poor drainage.
The present invention was made with a focus on the point that the block collapses during wet running and closes the groove to deteriorate the hydro performance. It is an object of the present invention to provide a pneumatic tire capable of improving the hydro performance at the time of high load such as cornering.
The present invention is a straight rib that is arranged on the tread center side and extends linearly continuously in the tire circumferential direction;
A middle block that is divided by inclined lateral grooves spaced in the tire circumferential direction and is adjacent to the straight rib on the outer side in the tire axial direction;
The middle block has an end on the first arrival side connected to the straight rib via a connecting portion,
The inclined lateral groove is connected to the first inclined groove portion, the inner edge of the tire axial direction extending in parallel with the tire circumferential direction and along the straight rib, and the end portion on the rear arrival side of the first inclined groove portion, and on the rear arrival side. A second inclined groove portion that is inclined outward in the tire axial direction,
In addition, the first inclined groove portion has a maximum width portion where the groove width is maximum, and the groove width is equal to or greater than the groove depth in the maximum width portion .
The connecting portion is formed of a main portion having the same height as the straight rib, and an inclined portion whose height is gradually reduced from the
In the pneumatic tire according to the present invention, it is preferable that a rib width of the straight rib is larger than a groove depth of a groove adjacent to the straight rib.
In the pneumatic tire according to the present invention, in the circumferential cross section passing through the groove bottom of the first inclined groove portion, the cross-sectional area Sa of the connecting portion is the cross-sectional area Sa and the cross-sectional area Sb of the first inclined groove portion. It is preferably 10% or more of the sum (Sa + Sb).
In the pneumatic tire according to the present invention, the groove width in the tire axial direction of the first inclined groove portion gradually increases toward the rear arrival side, and the end portion on the rear arrival side forms the maximum width portion. Is preferred.
In the pneumatic tire according to the present invention, the middle block includes siping, and the siping is at an angle of 45 to 90 degrees with respect to a circumferential line, and toward the outer side in the tire axial direction toward the rear arrival side. It is preferable to incline.
The tread portion during cornering receives a force (lateral force) in the tire axial direction. In particular, in a pattern assuming a wet road surface, the negative rate is high in order to ensure the groove volume, and the blocks are formed relatively small. Therefore, it is weak against the lateral force as described above, and the hydro performance tends to be deteriorated by closing the groove during traveling. Therefore, in the present invention, straight ribs extending linearly in the tire circumferential direction are connected to the adjacent middle block at the end of the first arrival side. Thereby, the fall of the middle block is suppressed, and as a result, the decrease in the groove volume of the first inclined groove due to the fall of the block can be minimized.
However, since the deformation of the middle block is not completely eliminated, the effect cannot be expected when the first inclined groove is blocked by a slight deformation. The amount of deformation in the lateral direction of the block is not more than the groove depth at the maximum. Therefore, in the present invention, in the maximum width portion of the first inclined groove portion, the groove width is not less than the groove depth so that the hydro performance can be improved. We are trying to secure it.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail.
As shown in FIG. 1, a
Specifically, the
The inclined
As shown in FIG. 2, in this example, the tire axial direction inner edge ei of the first
As shown in FIG. 4, in the maximum width portion Pw, the groove width W7 of the first
Thus, the
From the viewpoint of ensuring steering stability, the height H5 from the groove bottom 7As of the first
The connecting
Further, as shown in the figure, in the circumferential cross section passing through the groove bottom 7As of the first
As shown in FIG. 2, the
Further, the second
In the present example, a
FIG. 5 shows another example of the present invention. In this example, the circumferential
As mentioned above, although especially preferable embodiment of this invention was explained in full detail, this invention is not limited to embodiment of illustration, It can deform | transform and implement in a various aspect.
A pneumatic tire (330 / 710R18) was prototyped based on the specifications shown in Table 1 based on the pattern of FIG. 1, and the hydro performance and steering stability of each sample tire were tested and compared. Except as described in Table 1, the specifications are substantially the same.
In the conventional example 1, the connecting
(1) Steering stability:
A sample tire is mounted on four wheels of a vehicle (3400cc FR vehicle) with a rim (18 × 13.0J) and internal pressure (180kPa), and a driver rides on the asphalt road test course. By sensory evaluation, it was evaluated with an index with Conventional Example 1 as 100. The larger the value, the better the steering stability.
(2) Hydro performance:
The above vehicle was used to turn a course with a 5 mm water pool and turn G was measured. Evaluation is shown by the index | exponent which sets the prior art example 1 to 100. FIG. The larger the numerical value, the higher the turning G and the better the hydro performance.
