Specifically, the present inventor first examined the inclusion of fluorinated ether in the electrolyte of a lithium ion secondary battery. As a result, the present inventor succeeded in improving the withstand voltage and cycle life of the lithium ion secondary battery, but there was still room for improvement in the cycle life under a high current density. In particular, under a high driving voltage, the solvent is decomposed on the positive electrode, and the decomposition product may inhibit the reaction on the positive electrode.
Therefore, the present inventor has intensively studied an additive for protecting the positive electrode. As a result, the present inventor has conceived that the first lithium compound is used as an additive, but the cycle life is deteriorated only by adding the first lithium compound to the electrolytic solution.
Based on this finding, the present inventor has found that the first lithium compound can suppress the decomposition of the solvent on the positive electrode active material, but decomposes on the negative electrode active material, and this decomposition product is decomposed on the negative electrode. It was thought to inhibit the reaction. The present inventor believes that the negative effect on the negative electrode has a stronger effect on the cycle life than the positive effect of the first lithium compound on the positive electrode, and as a result, the cycle life of the lithium ion secondary battery deteriorates. It was.
Therefore, the present inventor has intensively studied an additive to the electrolytic solution, particularly an additive for protecting the negative electrode. As a result, the present inventors have found that the cycle life is slightly improved by adding the second lithium compound to the electrolytic solution. Based on this finding, the present inventor considered that the second lithium compound can form a protective film for protecting the negative electrode active material, but cannot suppress the decomposition of the solvent on the positive electrode active material. . The present inventor found that the positive effect on the negative electrode has a stronger effect on the cycle life than the negative effect of the second lithium compound on the positive electrode. As a result, the cycle life of the lithium ion secondary battery is slightly improved. I thought.
