Description
また、本発明は、ビスマス化合物、塩化物、アルカリ土類金属化合物を混合し、焼成するオキシ塩化ビスマスの製造方法であり、優れた光安定性を有する顔料を簡便に製造することができる。
本発明の顔料は、光安定性に優れているため種々の用途に用いることができ、例えば、塗料組成物、塗装物品、化粧料などに用いることができ、塗装物品として、顔料を含む塗装が施された自動車、電車、建築物等が挙げられる。
金属酸化物及び/又は金属水酸化物は、後述のように焼成したものが好ましく、焼成により結晶性がよくなるためにオキシ塩化ビスマスの光変色性をより一層抑制できる。焼成の温度は適宜設定することができるが、後述するように200〜1000℃の範囲が好ましく、300〜700℃の範囲がより好ましい。

次に、前記の混合物を焼成してオキシ塩化ビスマス顔料を製造する。焼成温度は適宜設定することができ、200〜1000℃が好ましく、300〜700℃の範囲がより好ましく、400〜600℃の範囲が更に好ましい。焼成時間は適宜設定することができ、0.5〜10時間程度が適当である。また焼成の雰囲気は、大気中あるいは酸素ガス等の酸素含有雰囲気が好ましく、窒素ガス、アルゴンガス等の不活性雰囲気、水素ガス等の還元ガス雰囲気でもよい。
オキシ塩化ビスマス(BiOCl)、塩化バリウム、酸化ビスマス(Bi2O3)を3.4/0.8/0.2のモル比で秤量し、乳鉢で混合した後、500℃の温度で8時間焼成して、本発明のオキシ塩化ビスマス顔料(試料A)を得た。
試料Aの組成は、Bi3.8Ba0.8Cl5O4であり、XRDのパターンはオキシ塩化ビスマスとほぼ同じであった。また、試料Aの粒子形状は電子顕微鏡観察から薄片状であることがわかった。
前記の実施例1において、焼成温度500℃を600℃、700℃、800℃に代えたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、本発明のオキシ塩化ビスマス顔料(試料B、C、D)を得た。
試料B、C、Dの組成はそれぞれ、Bi3.8Ba0.8Cl5O4であり、XRDのパターンはオキシ塩化ビスマスとほぼ同じであった。また、試料B、C、Dの粒子形状は電子顕微鏡観察から薄片状であることがわかった。
前記の実施例1〜4において、塩化バリウムを塩化ストロンチウムに代えたこと以外は、実施例1〜4と同様にして、本発明のオキシ塩化ビスマス顔料(試料E〜H)を得た。
試料E〜Hの組成は、Bi3.8Sr0.8Cl5O4であり、XRDのパターンはオキシ塩化ビスマスとほぼ同じであった。また、試料E、F、G、Hの粒子形状は電子顕微鏡観察から薄片状であることがわかった。
前記の実施例1〜4において、塩化バリウムを塩化カルシウムに代えたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、本発明のオキシ塩化ビスマス顔料(試料I〜L)を得た。
試料I〜Lの組成は、Bi3.8Ca0.8Cl5O4であり、XRDのパターンはオキシ塩化ビスマスとほぼ同じであった。また、試料I、J、K、Lの粒子形状は電子顕微鏡観察から薄片状であることがわかった。
前記の実施例1〜4において、塩化バリウムを塩化マグネシウムに代えたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして、本発明のオキシ塩化ビスマス顔料(試料M〜P)を得た。
試料M〜Pの組成は、Bi3.8Mg0.8Cl5O4であり、XRDのパターンはオキシ塩化ビスマスとほぼ同じであった。また、試料M、N、O、Pの粒子形状は電子顕微鏡観察から薄片状であることがわかった。
前記の実施例1〜4において用いたオキシ塩化ビスマスを500℃、600℃、700℃、800℃の温度で8時間焼成して、オキシ塩化ビスマス顔料(試料Q〜T)を得た。また、試料Q、R、S、Tの粒子形状は電子顕微鏡観察から薄片状であることがわかった。
アルミリングにセルロースパウダーを詰め、その上に各試料を薬包紙上に広げ、4.5mW/cm2の強度を持つブラックライトにて24時間、48時間照射を行い、ブラックライト照射前サンプルとの色差△Eで耐光性を評価した。尚、色差の測定は、日本電色工業社製分光色彩計SD−5000を使用した。
また、色差△Eは次式にて計算を行った。(JIS Z 8730準拠)

ブラックライト照射前サンプルの粉体色を表1に、色差△Eを表2に示す。試料A〜Tはほぼ同程度の光輝性光沢を有することを確認した。また、試料A、B、C、Gは、比較試料Q、R、Sに比べ、色差△Eが小さく、光安定性がよく耐光性がよいことがわかった。
Claims (7)
- マグネシウム、カルシウム、ストロンチウム、バリウムの少なくとも一種の金属元素がオキシ塩化ビスマスの結晶内部に固溶又はビスマス元素の一部を置換しているオキシ塩化ビスマスを主成分とする顔料。
- 前記の金属元素が、バリウム及び/又はストロンチウムである請求項1に記載の顔料。
- 前記の金属元素の含有量が、ビスマスに対して5〜50モル%である請求項1に記載の顔料。
- オキシ塩化ビスマスと、ビスマス化合物と、マグネシウム、カルシウム、ストロンチウム、バリウムの少なくとも一種の金属塩化物とを混合し、焼成してマグネシウム、カルシウム、ストロンチウム、バリウムの少なくとも一種の金属元素がオキシ塩化ビスマスの結晶内部に固溶又はビスマス元素の一部を置換しているオキシ塩化ビスマスの製造方法。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の顔料を含有する塗料組成物。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の顔料を含有する塗装物品。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の顔料を含有する化粧料。
