Description
膨張していない状態で、骨の空洞にインプラントを挿入すること;
高分子材料からなるインプラントの部分にエネルギーを供給すること;および、
インプラントが膨張した状態に達するまで、エネルギーエミッターによって放出されたエネルギーの供給により、液体の温度を上昇させ、これによって、1以上の室の蒸気圧を増加させること。
骨に空洞を作製すること;
膨張していない状態で、空洞に膨張可能部分を挿入すること;および、
高分子材料が膨張した状態に達するまで、エネルギーエミッターによって放出されたエネルギーの供給により、液体の温度を上昇させ、これによって、高分子材料の1以上の室の蒸気圧を増加させること。
骨の孔に、室を有するインプラントを挿入することと、
インプラントが軟化し、塑性的に変形可能になるまで、インプラントを加熱することと、
流体密にインプラントに膨張アセンブリを接続することと、
膨張デバイスからインプラントの室に生体適合性流体を注入することと、を含む。
i)治療される椎体13に空洞20を作製すること;
ii)膨張していない状態で、空洞20にインプラント本体7を挿入すること(図3A);
iii)エネルギーエミッター36(例えば、光伝導体14の形態)をインプラント本体7に挿入することであって、光伝導体14が、エネルギー源(例えば、レーザー)に接続されること(図3B);
iv)インプラント34が膨張した状態に達するまで、エネルギーエミッター36によって放出されたエネルギーを供給して、膨張流体5の温度を上昇させ、これによって、インプラント34の1以上の室3の内部蒸気圧を増加させること(図3Cから図3F);および、
v)インプラント本体7からエネルギーエミッター除去すること(図3G)。
Claims (11)
- 全容積を有したインプラント本体を備える、インプラントであって、該インプラント本体は、該インプラント本体の膨張可能部分に配設された少なくとも1つの室を区画形成し、該少なくとも1つの室は、全容積よりも少ない容積を有し、該少なくとも1つの室が、エネルギーによって該インプラント本体に熱が伝達された後、前記膨張可能部分の容積を膨張した位置まで増加させるための膨張流体を受け入れるように構成されており、かつ前記伝達された熱が前記インプラント本体を軟化させ、
前記インプラント本体は、中央縦方向軸に沿って延びる細長い形状を有し、前方端部および後方端部を備え、前記後方端部は、前記中央縦方向軸に沿って前記前方端部から離間しており、
前記インプラント本体は、前記後方端部から前記前方端部に向かって延びる内部空洞を有し、前記内部空洞は、前記少なくとも1つの室よりも後方に位置し、前記少なくとも1つの室に対し間隔をおいて配置され、前記内部空洞は、前記インプラント本体に熱を伝達して、前記少なくとも1つの室に受け入れられている前記膨張流体の圧力を増加させ、前記膨張可能部分の容積を膨張させるエネルギーエミッターを受け入れるように構成されている、前記インプラント。 - 伝達された熱によって、前記膨張流体が前記室の内部で膨張し、かつ前記少なくとも1つの室の内部の膨張流体が、室温において液体であり、伝達された熱に応じて気化する、請求項1記載のインプラント。
- 前記少なくとも1つの室が閉鎖され、その結果、液体の温度を上昇させることによって、該室の圧力が増加する、請求項1記載のインプラント。
- 前記インプラント本体が、高分子材料から作製される、請求項1記載のインプラント。
- エネルギー吸収部材をさらに備え、該エネルギー吸収部材が、前記インプラント本体の少なくとも一部を軟化させ、かつ、前記少なくとも1つの室の膨張流体の温度を上昇させるように構成され、これによって、該インプラント本体の容積を膨張させる、請求項1記載のインプラント。
- 前記全容積とすべての室の容積の合計の比が、2:1から5:1の範囲である、請求項1記載のインプラント。
- さらに複数の室を備え、該複数の室の選択した室が、他の室のいずれにも相互接続されない、請求項1記載のインプラント。
- 前記少なくとも1つの室が、少なくとも0.1mm、前記インプラント本体の外面から間隔を置く、請求項1記載のインプラント。
- 前記インプラント本体の一部が、室がない内側コアの周囲の外側層に配置された、高分子材料からなる、請求項1記載のインプラント。
- 骨固定キットであって、該骨固定キットは、
容積を有したインプラント本体を有する、インプラントであって、該インプラント本体が、圧力で膨張流体を保持するように構成された、少なくとも1つの室を区画形成する、前記インプラントと、
該インプラント本体に熱を伝達するために、該インプラントにエネルギーを付与するように構成された、エネルギーエミッターと、を備え、
付与されたエネルギーが、該インプラント本体の膨張可能部分を膨脹させるように、該少なくとも1つの室の内部で、該膨張流体の圧力を増加させ、
前記インプラント本体は、中央縦方向軸に沿って延びる細長い形状を有し、前方端部および後方端部を備え、前記後方端部は、前記中央縦方向軸に沿って前記前方端部から離間しており、
前記インプラント本体は、前記後方端部から前記前方端部に向かって延びる内部空洞を有し、前記内部空洞は、前記少なくとも1つの室よりも後方に位置し、前記少なくとも1つの室に対し間隔をおいて配置され、前記内部空洞は前記エネルギーエミッターを受け入れるように構成されている、前記骨固定キット。 - 前記エネルギーが、前記インプラント本体の少なくとも一部を軟化させる、請求項10記載の骨固定キット。
