Description

(b) 少なくとも一種の白色顔料、

Mが、Na+、K+、トリエタノールアンモニウム、N−ヒドロキシエチル−N,N−ジメチルアンモニウム、N−ヒドロキシエチル−N,N−ジエチルアンモニウムまたは上記化合物の混合物からなる群から選択されるカチオンを示す、
ものである。
式(1)の化合物50部を、水450部に対し、効率よく攪拌しながら室温でゆっくりと加えることによって、式(1)の化合物を含む水性色調整用溶液(S1)を調製する。得られた溶液を1時間攪拌し、そして濾過して、不溶性の粒子を除去する。生ずる色調整用溶液(S1)は6.0〜7.0の範囲のpHを有し、そして式(I)の化合物10重量%を含む。ここで、重量%は、最終の水性色調整用溶液(S1)の全重量を基準とする。
70部のチョーク(OMYAからHydrocarb 90の商品名で商業的に入手可能)、30部のクレー(IMERYSからKaolin SPSの商品名で商業的に入手可能)、42.8部の水、0.6部の分散剤(BASFからPolysalz Sの商品名で商業的に入手可能なポリアクリル酸のナトリウム塩)、20部の50%ラテックス(DowからDL921の商品名で商業的に入手できるスチレンブタジエンコポリマー)、及び98〜99%の加水分解度及び4.0〜5.0mPa.sのブルックフィールド粘度(20℃で4%水溶液)を有する0.8部のポリビニルアルコールを含むコーティング組成物を調製する。このコーティング組成物の固形物含有率を水の添加によって約65%に調節し、そしてpHを水酸化ナトリウムで8〜9に調製する。調製例1に従い調製した水性色調整用溶液(S1)を水で1部から1000部に希釈する。
水性色調整用溶液(S1)の代わりにC.I.Direct Violet35の10重量%水溶液を用いることのみを違いとして、比較応用例1aを応用例1に記載の通りに行った。ここで、重量%は、C.I.Direct Violet35水溶液の全重量を基準とする。
水性色調整用溶液(S1)の代わりにC.I.Pigment Violet23の10重量%水性分散物を使用したことのみを違いとして、比較応用例1bを応用例1に記載の通りに行った。ここで、重量%は、C.I.Pigment Violet23水性分散物の全重量を基準とする。CIE白色度及び明度を、キャリブレートしたミノルタスペクトロフォトメータで測定する。結果をそれぞれ表1及び表2に示す。これらの結果は、従来技術に属する色調整用顔料の使用が、かなりより低い白色度レベルを招くことを明らかに示している。
Claims (11)
- 紙基材の色調整のための水性コーティング組成物であって、
(a)式(I)の少なくとも一種の色調整用染料、
R1は、H、メチルまたはエチルを示し、
R2は、パラメトキシフェニル、メチルまたはエチルを示し、
Mは、水素、アルカリ金属カチオン、アルカリ土類金属、アンモニウム、C1−C4線状もしくは分枝状アルキル基によってモノ−、ジ−、トリ−もしくはテトラ置換されたアンモニウム、C1−C4線状もしくは分枝状ヒドロキシアルキル基によってモノ−、ジ−、トリ−もしくはテトラ置換されたアンモニウム、C1−C4線状もしくは分枝状アルキル基と線状もしくは分枝状ヒドロキシアルキル基との混合物によってジ−、トリ−もしくはテトラ置換されたアンモニウム、または上記の化合物の混合物からなる群から選択されるカチオンを示す]
(b)少なくとも一種の白色顔料、
(c)少なくとも一種の主バインダー、
(d)任意に、一種またはそれ以上の副バインダー、及び
(e)水、
を含み、
乾燥白色顔料の全重量を基準にして式(1)の化合物0.00001〜0.01重量%を含み、
ここで、前記主バインダーは、スチレン−ブタジエンポリマー、酢酸ビニルポリマー、スチレンアクリル系ポリマー、ビニルアクリル系ポリマー及びエチレン酢酸ビニルポリマーからなる群から選択される合成ラテックスであり、
前記主バインダーは、白色顔料の全重量を基準にして、2〜25重量%の範囲の量で使用される、前記水性コーティング組成物。 - 前記式(I)において、
R1が、H、メチルまたはエチルを示し、
R2が、パラメトキシフェニル、メチルまたはエチルを示し、
Mが、水素、アルカリ金属カチオン、アルカリ土類金属、C1−C4線状もしくは分枝状ヒドロキシアルキル基によってモノ−、ジ−、トリ−もしくはテトラ置換されたアンモニウム、C1−C4線状もしくは分枝状アルキル基と線状もしくは分枝状ヒドロキシアルキル基との混合物によってジ−、トリ−もしくはテトラ置換されたアンモニウム、または上記化合物の混合物からなる群から選択されるカチオンを示す、
請求項1に記載の水性コーティング組成物。 - 前記式(I)において、
R1が、メチルまたはエチルを示し、
R2が、メチルまたはエチルを示し、
Mが、Li+、Na+、K+、1/2Ca2+、1/2Mg2+、C1−C4線状もしくは分枝状ヒドロキシアルキル基によってモノ−、ジ−、トリ−もしくはテトラ置換されたアンモニウム、C1−C4線状もしくは分枝状アルキル基と線状もしくは分枝状ヒドロキシアルキル基との混合物によってジ−、トリ−もしくはテトラ置換されたアンモニウム、または上記化合物の混合物からなる群から選択されるカチオンを示す、
請求項1に記載の水性コーティング組成物。 - 前記式(I)において、
R1が、メチルを示し、
R2が、メチルを示し、
Mが、Na+、K+、トリエタノールアンモニウム、N−ヒドロキシエチル−N,N−ジメチルアンモニウム、N−ヒドロキシエチル−N,N−ジエチルアンモニウムまたは上記化合物の混合物からなる群から選択されるカチオンを示す、
請求項1に記載の水性コーティング組成物。 - 白色顔料10〜70%を含む、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の水性コーティング組成物。
- 白色顔料が無機顔料である、請求項5に記載の水性コーティング組成物。
- 副バインダーが、デンプン、カルボキシメチルセルロース、カゼイン、ソイポリマー、ポリビニルアルコールまたはこれらのバインダーの混合物である、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の水性コーティング組成物。
- 前記水性コーティング組成物のpHが5〜13の範囲である、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の水性コーティング組成物。
- 紙基材の色調整のための、請求項1に記載の水性コーティング組成物の使用。
- 前記コーティング組成物が、予め調製された溶液として使用され、この溶液が、その全重量を基準にして0.001〜30重量%の濃度で式(I)の化合物を含む、請求項9に記載の使用。
- 請求項1に記載の水性コーティング組成物を紙基材上にコーティングする、紙基材の色調整方法。
