Description
The present invention relates to an image reading apparatus.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an image forming apparatus such as a digital copying machine is provided with an image reading device that reads an image of a document, and an image is formed on a recording sheet based on an image read by the image reading device. Here, the image reading apparatus is referred to as an automatic document feeder (hereinafter referred to as ADF (Auto Document Feeder)) that conveys a document from a document stacking unit to a discharge unit provided below the document stacking unit via a reading position. ) Is provided.
In the ADF, since the original is discharged to the discharge unit and the original is stacked on the discharge unit, the user removes the original from the discharge unit. Here, a problem that the user forgets to remove the discharged document from the discharge unit may occur.
Therefore, there is a technique for providing illumination for irradiating the discharge unit in order to prevent the user from forgetting to take the document (see Patent Document 1). By illuminating the discharge part with illumination, the user is aware that the original remains in the discharge part and prevents the user from forgetting to remove the original. Specifically, when the document whose image has been read is discharged to the discharge unit, the document is irradiated with light by illumination. In order to save power, the irradiation is terminated after a predetermined time has elapsed since the light irradiation was started (for example, after about 10 seconds).
In the configuration of the conventional example, the convenience for the user is not sufficient. In other words, the document is Tsu Der designed to inform the user that forgot to take that forgot to take to the discharge unit, it has not been taken into account with respect to the previous of the document that the user has forgotten to take.

FIG. 6 is a control block diagram of the
Then in accordance with the flowchart of FIG. 4, the operation of the
The
As described above, in this embodiment, when a user stacks (sets) a document on the
Therefore, the next user takes out the remaining document and then reads his / her original set on the
Next, according to the flowchart of FIG. 5, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described for the operation of the lamp accompanying the document reading process executed by the
In S <b> 41, the
When it is detected in S42 that there is a document in the
The process proceeds to S <b> 44, and the
When the
When the
If the
When the
When the paper feed start signal is received (YES in S53), the document feeding operation is started (S54) and the
In S44, if the document is removed from the
In the present embodiment described above, when a user stacks (sets) a document on the
When the user stacks (sets) a document on the
Since the
Further, a characteristic control is performed in which the
In any of the above-described embodiments, it has been described that the
