The present invention relates to a resin composition for laser direct structuring. Furthermore, it is related with the manufacturing method of the resin molded product formed by shape | molding the said resin composition, and the resin molded product with a plating layer which formed the plating layer on the surface of the said resin molded product.
In recent years, with the development of mobile phones including smartphones, various methods for manufacturing antennas inside mobile phones have been studied. In particular, there is a need for a method of manufacturing an antenna that can be three-dimensionally designed for a mobile phone. As one of the techniques for forming such a three-dimensional antenna, a laser direct structuring (hereinafter, also referred to as “LDS”) technique has attracted attention. LDS technology, for example, irradiates the surface of a resin molded product containing an LDS additive with a laser, activates only the portion irradiated with the laser, and forms a plating layer by applying metal to the activated portion. Technology. A feature of this technique is that a metal structure such as an antenna can be manufactured directly on the surface of the resin base material without using an adhesive or the like. Such LDS technology is disclosed in, for example,

By the way, a resin molded product formed by forming a resin composition containing an LDS additive tends to have lower mechanical properties than a molded product formed by molding a resin composition not containing an LDS additive. This is because the LDS additive is essential for LDS processing, but becomes a fine foreign substance in the resin molded product after the plating is formed. In particular, the inventors of the present application have examined that, in a general resin composition, it is known that impact strength tends to be improved when a reinforcing material is added. However, in a resin composition containing an LDS additive, It has been found that when the material is blended, the plating property may be remarkably inferior depending on the type of the reinforcing material. Further, it has been found that, among the impact strengths, in particular, the notched Charpy impact strength tends to be inferior.
The present invention is intended to solve such a problem, and even if an LDS additive is blended, a resin composition capable of maintaining high notch Charpy impact strength and achieving good plating properties. The purpose is to provide.

<Plating property (LDS activity) -Plating Index>
After drying the pellet obtained by the above-mentioned manufacturing method at 100 ° C. for 5 hours, using Nissei Plastic Industries J-50, the cylinder temperature is 280 ° C., the mold temperature is 80 ° C., and the molding cycle is 30 seconds. Injection molding was performed to form a 3 mm thick plate.
A 1064 nm YAG laser was used for the 3 mm-thick plate obtained above, and the output was any of 2.6 to 13 W, the speed was 1 to 2 m / s, and the frequency was in the range of 10 to 50 μs. The plate was degreased with sulfuric acid under various conditions combined, and then the plate was degreased with sulfuric acid, treated with Kizai THP Alkali Acti and THP Alkali Ax, and then plated with Kizai SEL Kappa. Plates after the plating treatment were visually judged and classified into the following 5 levels.
5: The condition in which the plating is clearly placed in various laser conditions is 75% or more and 100% or less 4: The condition in which the plating is clearly placed in various laser conditions is 50% or more and less than 75% 3: The condition is clear in various laser conditions The condition where the plating is placed is 30% or more and less than 50% 2: In various laser conditions, the condition where the plating is clearly placed is 10% or more and less than 30% 1: The condition where the plating is clearly placed in various laser conditions is 10 %Less than
In the table, the blending amount is parts by weight.
As is clear from the above table, it was found that the resin composition of the present invention was excellent in plating properties without decreasing the notched Charpy impact strength even when the LDS additive was contained (Example 1). -1 to 1-5, Examples 2-1 to 2-5). In contrast, when a fibrous reinforcing material is blended in place of the silicate mineral (Comparative Examples 1-1 to 1-3, Comparative Examples 2-1 to 2-3), the notched Charpy impact strength is poor. It was found that the plating property was slightly inferior. On the other hand, even when the silicate mineral was blended, when the LDS additive was not blended (Comparative Examples 1-4 and 2-4), the mechanical strength was excellent, but plating could not be formed at all.
