Claims (3)
- 溶融ガラスを越流させるアイソパイプから延伸される帯状ガラスの形状安定性を向上させる方法であって、
(a)前記アイソパイプの有するルート部が該ルート部を通った溶融ガラスの流動方向から見たときに湾曲形状をなすように形成されている前記アイソパイプを用いること、
(b)前記ルート部の底縁部に丸みをつけ、前記ルート部が形成されるように互いに接している前記アイソパイプの第1の面と第2の面とのなす角の2等分線の延びる方向を重力方向に対して傾斜させてなる前記アイソパイプを用いること、
(c)前記アイソパイプから延伸される帯状ガラスを傾斜した帯延伸方向に延伸し、延伸部の大半を帯の中心で支持すること
の少なくとも1つにより、前記帯状ガラスの湾曲を誘発することによって、湾曲した帯状ガラスを生成する工程と、前記湾曲した帯状ガラスを硬化させる工程とを備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記アイソパイプの第1の面と第2の面とのなす角の2等分線の延びる方向又は前記傾斜した帯延伸方向が、重力方向から5度〜20度の範囲内の角度にあることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 溶融ガラスを越流させるアイソパイプから延伸される帯状ガラスの形状安定性を向上させる装置であって、前記帯状ガラスの湾曲を誘発するよう動作可能な湾曲誘発要素として、
(a)前記アイソパイプの有するルート部が該ルート部を通った溶融ガラスの流動方向から見たときに湾曲形状をなすように形成されている前記アイソパイプ、
(b)前記ルート部の底縁部に丸みをつけ、前記ルート部が形成されるように互いに接している前記アイソパイプの第1の面と第2の面とのなす角の2等分線の延びる方向を重力方向に対して傾斜させてなる前記アイソパイプ、及び/又は、
(c)前記アイソパイプから延伸される帯状ガラスを、重力方向から5度〜20度の範囲内の角度で傾斜した帯延伸方向で延伸し、延伸部の大半を帯の中心で支持するオフセット延伸装置、
を備えることを特徴とする装置。
