そこで、車両用空気調和装置の小型化および軽量化を考慮し、端面カバーを廃止することも考えられるが、端面カバーを廃止したとしても、JIS規格の電車用ユニットクーラーE6602に定められている耐電圧試験に合格する必要がある。
加えて、端面カバーを廃止すると、空気調和装置本体枠と側面カバーの間に隙間ができ、外観を損ねるという問題があった。
本発明はかかる問題を解決するためになされたもので、車両用空気調和装置のレール方向長さを小さくし、JIS規格の電車用ユニットクーラーE6602に定められている耐電圧試験に合格し、しかも空気調和装置本体枠と側面カバーの間に隙間を埋めて外観を損ねることがない車両用空気調和装置を得ることを目的とする。
