B&PV Code Section IIIの規則が定める必要条件を満たすことは不可能であった。Codeの要件を満たす構成を開発する際の課題はCodeが定める40年または60年という耐用寿命を達成することである。溶接はCodeの規制範囲外であるから、Codeに定められた条件を満たすことは義務付けられていない。しかし、機能的観点から、漏れの原因となる溶接の損傷に対してゆとりのある構成を提供する必要がある。ASME Codeの規定を満たす構成で
あれば、漏れのない接合を確保するに充分なゆとりが得られる。

Claims (11)
- アクセス穴およびアクセス穴の蓋を設けた壁を有する圧力容器であって、
アクセス穴を囲む壁の封止面と;
アクセス穴の周りの複数個所において封止面から半径方向外方へ前記壁の上または壁の中に形成した雄および雌ロック装置の一方と;
アクセス穴を塞ぐように配置され、封止面の少なくとも一部の上に着座する周縁フランジと、フランジの内縁間に画定される連続的丸み部分とを有するインサートと;
封止面と、インサートのフランジとの間に介在する封止部材と;
アクセス穴およびインサートの上を覆い、雄または雌ロック装置の少なくとも一方に向かって半径方向に延びる蓋体と;
雄および雌ロック装置の一方と係合することによって蓋体を前記壁に連結させ、蓋体をインサートのフランジに圧接させる雄および雌ロック装置の他方とから成り、
インサートの丸み部分がアクセス穴内へ延びている圧力容器。 - 封止部材がガスケットである請求項1に記載の圧力容器。
- 封止部材が溶接部である請求項1に記載の圧力容器。
- 溶接部が隅肉溶接部である請求項3に記載の圧力容器。
- ロック装置がネジ付き固定具である請求項1に記載の圧力容器。
- ロック装置が蓋体の穴を貫通する請求項5に記載の圧力容器。
- 雄および雌ロック装置の一方がネジ孔であり、雄および雌ロック装置の他方がネジ付き固定具である請求項6に記載の圧力容器。
- ネジ付き固定具がボルトである請求項7に記載の圧力容器。
- インサートの丸み部分が半球形である請求項1に記載の圧力容器。
- インサートの丸み部分が楕円体形である請求項1に記載の圧力容器。
- インサートのフランジが丸み部分よりも厚い請求項1に記載の圧力容器。
