Description
第二段ポリマーは、第一段重合から得られた水性系の存在下で、約10〜90重量パーセントの少なくとも1種のC1〜C8アルキルアクリレート、および9〜89.9重量パーセントの少なくとも1種のC1〜C4アルキルメタクリレートを含有する水性乳化モノマー系から重合され;
ここで、第三段ポリマーは、第二段重合から得られた水性系の存在下で、約5〜40重量パーセントの少なくとも1種のC1〜C8アルキルアクリレート、および95〜60重量パーセントの少なくとも1種のC1〜C4アルキルメタクリレートを含有する水性乳化モノマー系から重合され;
第四段ポリマーは、第三段重合から得られた水性系の存在下で、約80〜100重量パーセントの少なくとも1種のC1〜C4アルキルメタクリレート、および合計100重量パーセントにする第四段モノマー系の残余の少なくとも1種のC1〜C8アルキルメタクリレートを含有する水性乳化モノマー系から重合され;第一段モノマー系の重量はポリマー組成物の合計重量の約10〜75%であり、続く段の重量は、ポリマー組成物の合計重量の約90〜25%であり、ここで、約0.1〜1重量パーセントの少なくとも1種のグラフト結合性モノマーが第一および第二段モノマー系のそれぞれに組み入れられ、ここで、グラフト結合性モノマーは少なくとも2つの付加重合性不飽和官能基を含有する共重合性モノマーであり、そのそれぞれは互いに実質的に異なる速度で重合する。この第四段ポリマー複合体は、米国特許第4,141,935号に開示され、この特許は本発明の一部として参照される。

実施例2、3、および18のエマルジョンを凍結乾燥した。乾燥ポリマーをまず、コリンミル(Collin Mill)(W.H.Collin GmbH Maschienefabrik、Aichach、Germany)を用いて175℃で3分間圧延した。圧延が完了した後、溶融ポリマーを金属ロールから剥がし、金属型中に入れ、プレスして、150μm〜300μmの範囲の厚さの薄膜シートにした。カーバープレス(CARVER press)(Carver Press Inc.,Menomonee Falls、Wisconsin)を操作温度185℃、プレス条件2.268トンで3分間、続いて9.07トンで2分間、9.07トンで5分の冷却期間(室温))で使用した。引き裂き伝播抵抗、引っ張り強度、伸びおよび弾性率を測定し、表2に記載する。
実施例4、6、および8のエマルジョンを凍結乾燥した。乾燥ポリマーを金属型中に入れ、プレスして、150μm〜300μmの範囲の厚さの薄膜シートにした。カーバープレス(Carver Press Inc.,Menomonee Falls、Wisconsin)を操作温度185℃、プレス条件2.268トンで3分間、続いて9.07トンで2分間、9.07トンで5分の冷却期間(室温))で使用した。フィルムを金属型から剥がし、折りたたみ、型中に入れ、前記条件下で第二の時間プレスした後、機械的特性を測定した。引き裂き伝播抵抗、引っ張り強度、伸びおよび弾性率を測定し、表2に記載する。
実施例9、10、11、12のエマルジョンを凍結乾燥した。乾燥ポリマーを、3mmストランドダイを有する実験台規模の一軸スクリュー押出機(RANDCASTLE Extrusion Systems,Inc.,Cedar Grove、New Jersey)で加工した。押出機の温度設定は、第1ゾーンについては120℃であり、第2および第3ゾーンについては185℃であり、ダイ温度も185℃に設定した。RPMは20〜40の範囲に設定した。ポリマーストランドを集め、次に金属型中に入れ、150μm〜300μmの範囲の厚さの薄膜シートにした。プレス条件は実施例14〜16と同じであった。引き裂き伝播抵抗、引っ張り強度、伸びおよび弾性率を測定し、表2に記載する。
以下の表3に示すエマルジョンを凍結乾燥した。ポリマー不溶物分率および膨潤比を、前記方法を用いて決定し、結果を表3に記載した。フィルム引き裂き強度も、カーバープレスおよび前記条件を用いて調製されたフィルムサンプルに関して集めた。結果を表3に記載する。
米国特許第4,141,935号の実施例に従って調製されたアクリルエマルジョンコポリマーを調製した。エマルジョンを次に、実験室用噴霧乾燥機(NIRO Inc.,Soeborg、デンマーク)を用いて噴霧乾燥した。得られた粉末を30mm二軸スクリュー押出機および4mm2−ストランドダイ(Werner & Phleiderer,Ramsey、New Jersey)でペレット化した。ペレット化条件は:温度は200℃、フィード速度は20lbs/時、RPMは150であった。ペレットを、143000の重量平均分子量および31000の数平均分子量および1.50の屈折率を有する熱可塑性ウレタン(TPU)とともに、30mmダイを有する同時押出インフレーションフィルムライン(Dr.Collin GmbH、Ebersberg,ドイツ)を用いて同時押出して、3層フィルムを作成した。厚さ90μm、かつアクリレート(30μm)/TPU(30μm)/アクリレート(30μm)の構造を有する多層フィルムは次の特性を示した:光透過率:92%より大、引き裂き伝播抵抗(ASTM D1938):8.08kg/cm、引っ張り強度(ASTM D882):4339psiおよび伸び:128%。
実施例11から得られたアクリルエマルジョンを、実験室用噴霧乾燥機(NIRO Inc.,Soeborg、デンマーク)を用いて分離した。得られた粉末を実施例34から得られた粉末と70:30の重量比でブレンドし、30mm二軸スクリュー押出機および4mm2−ストランドダイ(Werner & Phleiderer,Ramsey、New Jersey)でペレット化した。ペレット化条件は:温度は200℃、フィード速度は20lbs/時、RPMは150であった。ペレットを、143000の重量平均分子量および31000の数平均分子量および1.50の屈折率を有するTPUとともに、30mmダイを有する同時押出インフレーションフィルムライン(Dr.Collin GmbH、Ebersberg,ドイツ)を用いて同時押出して、アクリレート/TPU/アクリレートの構造を有し、アクリレート:TPUの重量比が40:60である3層フィルムを得た。厚さ125マイクロメートルのフィルムは:光透過率:92%より大、引き裂き伝播抵抗(ASTM D1938):28.5kg/cm、引っ張り強度(ASTM D882):5077psiおよび伸び:419%を示した。
Claims (6)
- 2つのポリマー成分からなる溶融加工フィルムであって、第一成分が60〜120℃のTgを有するC1〜C6アルキルアクリレート(コ)ポリマーであり、および第二成分が10℃より低いTgを有するC1〜C12(アルキル)アクリレート(コ)ポリマーであり、前記第一成分の前記第二成分の重量に対するグラム重量比が0.85未満であり、フィルムの膨潤比が少なくとも15であり、およびポリマー成分のうちの1つが他の成分の存在下で重合される溶融加工フィルム。
- 第一成分が1,000,000未満の重量平均分子量を有する請求項1記載のフィルム。
- 第二成分が3,000,000より多い重量平均分子量を有する請求項2記載のフィルム。
- コバルト触媒を用いて第一成分を重合させ、第二成分を続いて第一成分の存在下で重合させる請求項1記載のフィルム。
- ポリマー成分が乳化重合を用いて形成されて、溶融加工の前に500ナノメートル未満のラテックス粒子サイズが作り出される請求項1記載のフィルム。
- コア層のいずれかの面上に外層を含み、前記外層が前記の2つのポリマー成分を含み、およびコア層が、熱可塑性ポリウレタン、ポリビニルブチラールまたはその組み合わせから選択されるポリマーを含む、請求項1記載のフィルム。
