Description
装置は、好適な金属または高分子材料を含んでもよい。
インプラントの内部または周辺の全てまたは一部は、通常、埋込後に好適な骨形成材料または治療成分で充填されてもよい。骨形成材料としては、合成または天然の自家移植片、同種移植片、異種移植片、脱塩骨、骨ペースト、骨チップ、骨ストリップ、構造的骨移植、ヒドロキシアパタイト、およびリン酸カルシウム;合成および天然の骨移植物質、例えばバイオセラミックおよびポリマー;硬組織、結合組織、脱塩骨マトリクスおよび組み合わせ、ならびに骨誘導因子を含む他の組織材料が挙げられる。他の骨成長促進物質は、血小板由来成長因子、骨髄吸引物、幹細胞、骨成長タンパク質、骨成長ペプチド、骨結合タンパク質、骨結合ペプチド、ヒドロキシアパタイト、リン酸カルシウム、スタチン、および他の好適な骨成長促進物質を含んでもよい。
いずれかに記載したように、インプラントは、複数の異なるアプローチ、前方、後方、側方、後方−側方などを用いて治療部位に組み込むことができる。挿入時の小さな外形のために、インプラントは、特に側方および後方アプローチ、例えばPLIFおよびTLIFアプローチにおいて有用である。
この装置はインプラント以外にも使用されてよい。例えば、弾性材料から装置を構築することにより、その装置は骨間容積のサイズを測定するために使用されてもよい。例えば、図11A〜11Bに示した器具は、装置の拡張の間、引き棒(図13Aおよび13Bにおける406)により動かされる、押す−引く距離を示す。

前記モノリシック本体は、前記モノリシック本体の変形により第1の低い高さから第2の高い拡張された高さまで高さ軸に沿って拡張可能であり、
前記モノリシック本体は、長手方向軸、横軸、上側骨接触面及び下側骨接触面を有し、
それぞれの骨接触面は、前記モノリシック本体が拡張された場合、隣接する骨表面と接触するように作用し、
前記モノリシック本体は、第1及び第2の適合可能な部分的支柱を有し、
前記第1及び第2の適合可能な部分的支柱は、前記上側骨接触面及び前記下側骨接触面の各々から互いに向けて突設されており、
