Claims (4)
- 電磁波によって液体密度を正確に測定するための装置であって、
管状パイプ(2)内部で前記電磁信号のエネルギーを送出して収集するための液面計器(3)を備え、前記管状パイプ(2)が、液体貯蔵容器(1)の上部から底部に垂直下方向に延在し、それにより液体(5)中に部分的に浸漬され、液体がパイプ内外を妨げられずに通過するために排気スリットまたは排気穴が設けられ、またゲージ基準高さ(7)から既知の距離で固定位置に複数の妨害手段(4)が取り付けられる装置において、
前記妨害手段(4)が、液体(5)が貫通部(9)を通じて妨げなく上下できるように製造され、また、前記貫通部(9)の大きさや形状は、管状パイプ(2)内部で電磁波伝播の望ましくないモードの励起を起こさない、あるいは前記励起を少なくとも最小限に保つよう設計、製造され、さらに、前記妨害手段(4)は、均一な厚さの薄い平板ディスクであって、前記厚さは、前記管状パイプ(2)内で伝播する電磁信号の明瞭で明確なエコーを生成するように、前記妨害手段(4)を構成する材料(10)や貫通部(9)の選択に合わせて設定され、
液体(5)中に浸漬された妨害手段(4)によって規定されたエコーの信号強度が材料(10)や貫通部(9)の適切な選択によって液面計器(3)の固有雑音フロアに適合し、前記エコーの信号強度が前記固有雑音フロアよりも少なくとも30dB高く保たれ、前記液面計器(3)が60メートルの深さに対して所要の精度0.01%以下でエコー飛行時間を測定できることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記液面計器(3)は、各々一対の前記妨害手段(4)からのエコーの飛行時間を用いて前記管状パイプ(2)を上下する途中での電磁信号の伝播速度を測定し、液体の誘電率を、前記容器(1)の深さ方向へのプロファイルを含めて監視することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記液面計器(3)は、前記容器(1)に貯蔵されている液体の密度に関する正確な情報を、密度プロファイルを含めて得るための手段を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載の装置。
- 前記妨害手段(4)の材料(10)が前記液体(5)の誘電率より大きな誘電率をもつ固体の誘電体であること特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
