図7(a)に示される縦葺き外装構造では、本発明と前記参考態様を組み合わせた保持部材1Dが、アルミ押出材よりなる例であり、図7(b)に示すように予め所定の形状に成形されたものであって、前記保持部材1,1A〜1Cのように起立部11の上端を折り曲げるなど変形させて保持部14を形成するものではなく、予め保持部14Dが成形されている。この保持部材1Dは、上端が略T字状に成形された起立部11Dの下端に左右の水平方向に横片部が延在し、一方側(図面右側)にビス等の固定具121が固定される固定部12Dが、他方側(図面左側)に表面側へ屈曲する被係止部131Dが先端に設けられた横片部13Dが形成され、起立部11Dの略T字状の上端の左右に保持部14D,14Dが形成されている。
外装材2Dは、図7(c)に示すように面板部21の左右の側縁を立ち上げた側縁成形部22D,22Dの上端(被保持部221)を内側へ折返し状に折曲した(折曲片26)構成であり、それ以外の構成、並びにキャップ材3については前記実施例と全く同様であるから、図面に同一符号を付して説明を省略する。
この例では、側縁成形部22の上端に形成した被保持部221が、前記保持部材1Dの保持部14Dに保持され、折曲片26の下端261が、キャップ材3の係合部32,32を係合させる被係合部である。
なお、側縁成形部22Dの上端(被保持部221)が保持部14Dに保持される構成とは、側縁成形部22Dの長さ寸法が、保持部14Dから横片部13Dまでの長さ寸法より僅かに小さいことを意味しており、側縁成形部22Dの長さ寸法が大きすぎても小さすぎても安定な保持状態は得られない。また、折曲片26の下端261が、キャップ材3の係合部32,32を係合させる被係合部であるという構成は、キャップ材3を係合させる構成(部位)は前記図4〜図6の各実施例のように保持部材1,1A〜1Cに設けてもよいし、この実施例のように外装材2Dに設けてもよく、特に限定しないということを意味している。
