本実施の形態は、本発明に係る複数の発光ユニットを積層した構成の発光素子(以下、積層型素子という)の態様について、図3を参照して説明する。この発光素子は、第1の電極と第2の電極との間に、複数の発光ユニットを有する積層型発光素子である。各発光ユニットの構成としては、実施の形態2で示した構成と同様な構成を用いることができる。つまり、実施の形態2で示した発光素子は、1つの発光ユニットを有する発光素子である。本実施の形態では、複数の発光ユニットを有する発光素子について説明する。
本実施の形態では、本発明の有機デバイス用材料を用いて作製された発光装置について説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態4に示す発光装置をその一部に含む本発明の電子機器について説明する。本発明の電子機器は、実施の形態1に示した有機デバイス用材料を含み、長寿命の表示部を有する。また、発光効率の高い表示部を有する。また、消費電力の低減された表示部を有する。
本発明の有機デバイス用材料を用いた電界効果トランジスタの構造例を図10(A)〜10(D)として示す。なお、図10において、基板16上に、有機半導体材料を含む半導体層11、絶縁層12、ゲート電極15を有しており、ソース電極17及びドレイン電極18は半導体層11と接続している。各層や電極の配置は、素子の用途により適宜選択できる。なお、ソース電極及び/またはドレイン電極と半導体層11との間に、複合層を設けてもよい。複合層を設けることにより、電極と半導体層との間のキャリアの注入障壁を低減することができる。なお、各層や電極の配置は、素子の用途により図10(A)〜(D)から適宜選択できる。
本発明の有機デバイス用材料を用いた電界効果トランジスタを用いた液晶装置について、図11および図12を用いて説明する。
本発明の電界効果トランジスタを用いた発光装置について、図13を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態6に記載の電界効果トランジスタを可撓性を有する表示装置に適用した例について図15を参照しながら示す。

(式中、R1およびR2は、それぞれ、分岐を有するアルキル基を表し、R3〜R5は、それぞれ、水素、アルキル基またはフェニル基を表し、R11〜R18は、それぞれ、水素、アルキル基またはフェニル基を表す。) - 一般式(G2)で表されるアントラセン誘導体を含む発光材料。
(式中、R1およびR2は、それぞれ、分岐を有するアルキル基を表し、R11〜R18は、それぞれ、水素、アルキル基またはフェニル基を表す。) - 一対の電極間に、
