Description
(a)キャビネットの識別ラベル付け(キャビネット番号)、
(b)データセンターの物理的間取図上の位置、
(c)キャビネットのタイプ(スイッチキャビネットかサーバーキャビネット)、および
(d)インテリジェントパッチパネルと関連付けられたネットワーク構成要素
を表す。
(a)スイッチMACアドレス、
(b)スイッチIPアドレス、
(c)スイッチシャーシIDまたはシリアル番号、
(d)スイッチポート識別、MACアドレス、またはIPアドレス、
(e)割り当てられたホスト名、
(f)リアルタイムでの3D可視化情報、
(g)動作可能時間、
(h)モデルおよび製造業者、
(i)サービスレベル合意書情報、
(j)平均修復時間情報(MTTR)、および
(k)平均故障間隔(MTBF)
がある。
a)ラップトップ型PCのプラグを、インテリジェントパッチパネル10’の背面にある管理ポート17に差し込む。インテリジェントパッチパネルの不揮発性メモリに、キャビネットID(識別番号)およびタイプ(サーバーキャビネットのパッチパネル)、およびキャビネト12’の物理的位置を割り当てる。
b)9線式パッチコード18をサーバーキャビネットのインテリジェントパッチパネルにあるプロビジョニングポート23(図1に示す)に差し込む。これにより、インテリジェントパッチパネル10にシグナル通知して、水平ケーブル16(プロビジョニング)の初期マッピングを開始する。
c)9線式パッチコード18のもう一方の末端をキャビネットの第1フロントパッチパネルポート20(このポートの背面からの配線が、水平配線を経由して、対象とされた外部スイッチポートに既に接続している)に差し込む。プロビジョニングポートは、CDP(Cisco Discovery Protocol)またはLLDP(Link Layer Discovery Protocol)を使用して、特定の外部スイッチおよびスイッチポートを一意に示す情報(ポートMACアドレス、またはスイッチMACアドレスおよびポートID)を取得および記憶する。インテリジェントパッチパネル10’は、この情報を記憶する(および完了をユーザーにシグナル通知する)。
d)この9線式パッチコード18の一方の末端をプロビジョニングポート23に差し込んだまま、もう一方の末端をパッチパネルポート1から外し、それをポート2に差し込む。プロビジョニングポート23は、再度、次のスイッチポートを識別する情報を取得して、その情報を記憶する。サーバーキャビネット12’の全てのインテリジェントパネルポート20について、つまり、サーバーキャビネットで終端されている全ての水平ケーブルについてこれを繰り返す。
e)PIMソフトウェア(構造化配線クラウド14に接続されているラップトップ型PCとして示されるPIMサーバー15上に常駐する)は、インテリジェントパッチパネル10から、キャビネット番号、キャビネットタイプ、および位置に加えて、この情報を収集する。PIMソフトウェアは、インテリジェントパッチパネル10を最初に発見した後、および、その後のインテリジェントパッチパネル10の定期ポーリング中に、この情報を収集する可能性がある。
f)PIMサーバー15上に常駐するPIMソフトウェアは、次に、:
・識別された各スイッチポートの全てのインスタンスをそのデータベース内で探し(2つだけ見つかるはず)、
・個々のサーバーキャビネットのインテリジェントパッチパネルポートの各々を、その一致するスイッチキャビネットのインテリジェントパッチパネルポートに関連付け、そして、
・これらポート対の各々を水平ケーブルで相互に接続されたように論理的に接続する。
a)10線式パッチコード18のブレード末端を、サーバーキャビネット12’に格納された対象とするインテリジェントパッチパネルポート20に差し込む。インテリジェントパッチパネル10’は、このポートへの挿入を検出して記憶する(PIMソフトウェアは、既に、このポートを、水平ケーブルのもう一方の末端で、例えば、分散地域のスイッチポートと関連付けている)。
b)その同一の10線式パッチコード18のスイッチ末端(「遠」末端)を、対象とするサーバーポート25に差し込む。
c)インテリジェントパッチパネルポート20は、インテリジェントパッチコード18のサーバーポートへの挿入を検出して、このパッチ接続のイベントを、PIMソフトウェアまでシグナル通知する。
d)PIMソフトウェアは、識別されたスイッチに対し、水平ケーブルのもう一方の末端に接続することが知られているその特定のポートについて、定期的に問合せを行う。この定期的な問合せでは、キャビネット内のサーバーの初期パッチングと、その結果として生じるそれらサーバーとのイーサネット(登録商標)通信の開始との間の経過時間を考慮に入れる。
e)スイッチは、直ちに、または、最終的に、その識別されたポートに接続されているサーバーのMACアドレスを生成する。
f)PIMソフトウェアは、そのサーバーのMACアドレスを、サーバーキャビネット10’内に常駐する在庫管理として指定する。
a)スイッチMACアドレス、
b)スイッチIPアドレス、
c)スイッチシャーシIDまたはシリアル番号、
d)スイッチポート識別、MACアドレス、またはIPアドレス、
e)割り当てられたホスト名、
f)モデルおよび製造業者、および
g)各スイッチポートに接続されている稼働中の装置のIPアドレスおよびMACアドレス、
の発見および集約が可能になる。

Claims (10)
- 物理インフラ管理サーバーと、
前記物理インフラ管理サーバーへのネットワーク接続を有するインテリジェントパッチパネルであって、前記インテリジェントパッチパネルがネットワークキャビネットに設置され、かつ、その場所で、パッチパネルメモリに、前記インテリジェントパッチパネルが設置されている物理的位置を表す物理的位置情報を記憶している、少なくとも1つのインテリジェントパッチパネルと、
前記キャビネットに設置され、かつ、前記インテリジェントパッチパネルのパッチポートに接続されている、少なくとも1つのネットワーク装置と、
前記キャビネットに設置され、前記キャビネット内の電源消費に関する情報が前記インテリジェントパッチパネルによって収集され、前記キャビネットに関連付けられるように、前記インテリジェントパッチパネルに接続されている電源出力装置管理ポートを備え、さらに検出および制御ポートを備えた、少なくとも1つの電源出力装置と、
前記電源出力装置の前記検出および制御ポートに接続された環境センサーであって、前記環境センサーからの環境データが前記インテリジェントパッチパネルによって収集され、前記キャビネットに関連付けられる、少なくとも1つの環境センサーと、
を備える物理インフラ管理システム。 - 前記少なくとも1つの環境センサーが温度センサーを備える、請求項1に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの環境センサーが相対湿度センサーを備える、請求項1に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
- 前記電源出力装置の前記検出および制御ポートに接続された少なくとも1つのアクチュエータをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
- 前記アクチュエータがキャビネットドアロックアクチュエータを備える、請求項4に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
- 前記アクチュエータが光信号ビーコンアクチュエータを備える、請求項4に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
- 前記物理インフラ管理サーバーがグラフィカルユーザーインタフェースを備える、請求項1に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
- 前記ネットワーク装置の一部がネットワークスイッチである、請求項1に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
- 前記ネットワーク装置の一部が、10線式パッチコードを経由して前記インテリジェントパッチパネルに接続されている、請求項1に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
- 前記10線式パッチコードに、挿入検出スイッチが備わっている、請求項9に記載の物理インフラ管理システム。
