Claims (18)
- 腹膜透析(PD)排出物を流れ通路内で検査する装置であって、
A. 腹膜透析排出物の流れ通路の少なくとも一部を画成するチャンバと、
B. 該チャンバ内の腹膜排出物を照射する照射光源と、
C. 該排出物によって反射された及び/又は拡散された光を検出する検出器と、
D. 排出物の層流を含むチャンバであって、当該チャンバはチャンバ内の流体の流れに作用し、その内壁を清浄にするのを促進する部材を有するチャンバと、を備えることを特徴とする装置。 - 当該部材は、流れ通路内に配置されたディフレクターであることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 当該ディフレクターは、チャンバ内を流れる排出物の乱れを増大させることを特徴とする請求項2の装置。
- 当該ディフレクターは、チャンバ内を流れる排出物のレイノルズ数を増大させることを特徴とする請求項2の装置。

C. 該排出物によって反射された及び/又は拡散された光を検出する検出器と、を備え、
D. 当該検出器は、排出物内で少なくとも選択された個別の細胞サイズの構成要素が、それから反射された及び/又は拡散され且つ検出器で検出された光に基づいて、互いから区別され得るように、細胞スケールの解像度で反射された及び/又は拡散された光を検出することを特徴とする装置。 - 当該検出器は、白血球(WBCs)が互いから区別され得るように、排出物内で個別の白血球(WBCs)から反射された及び/又は拡散された光を検出するべく配置されていることを特徴とする請求項9の装置。
- 検出器は、排出物内でWBCsから反射された及び/又は拡散された光に基づいてWBCsを計数することを特徴とする請求項10の装置。
- 検出器は、前記計数値が長い時間にわたって変化し、及び/又は基準線から逸脱したときに、腹膜炎の発症を合図することを特徴とする請求項11の装置。

- 当該乱れを、排出物の構成要素がチャンバの内壁に付着するのを抑止、及び/又は、当該内壁に既に付着した付着物を除去するために利用することを含むことを特徴とする請求項17の方法。
