本発明において使用する装飾品本体としては、例えばガラス板、鏡、鉱石を平板状にスライスしたもの、半田が付きにくい金属板等が挙げられる。
請求項2にかかる製作方法は、請求項1の製作方法により作成された装飾物の半田部分に、半田部分が硬化する前に耐熱性のある物質を押し付けて半田部分の形状を加工する装飾品の製作方法である。
本発明において「押し付ける」とは上から下に押し付ける手法のみならず、鋭利な物を押し付けた状態で水平方向に移動させて表面を不規則に撫でる手法をも含むものである。

装飾品本体1の周面に対するコパーテープ2の貼付は、装飾品本体1の外周面のみならず、外周面と交差する上面及び下面の外周縁に跨って貼付する。

同図(j)に示すように上面の半田3を盛った部分を半田ゴテ4で加熱し、平らになるように溶かす。この際、装飾品本体は台板5上に球(塊体)7を介して載置されているため、台板5との間に隙間が形成され、下面の半田の球(塊体)7が土台となり、下面に余剰分の半田3が垂れ流れた形状で溶融付着する。下面に付着した球(塊体)7も溶融し、上面から垂れ流れた半田3と一体になり半田の凸凹した飾り形状6が形成され、台板5と対向した面には、平面的な部分と立体的な部分が生まれる(同図(k))。なお、この半田の球(塊体)7は、半田ゴテ4の先端に半田3を少量付着し、半田ゴテ4を上下に振ることで作り出すことができる。半田3を付着し終わった後、装飾品本体1を水洗いし、付着している薬品を除去し乾燥することで装飾品が完成する。

また、図2に示す装飾品の半田部分表面にフラックスを薄く塗布し、更に半田を盛ることで丸みのある立体的な半田の装飾部分を有する装飾品を製作することが可能である。

また装飾品本体1としてガラス片の代わりに鏡片を用いても良い。
