樹脂シートを熱成形してなる容器本体の上端の開口を形成する開口縁部が略円形状に形成された包装用容器であって、
前記容器本体は、前記開口縁部と、該開口縁部より小さな略円形状に形成された底面部と、該底面部及び前記開口縁部を連結すると共に該底面部及び該開口縁部と一体に成型された側壁部とを備え、
前記側壁部は、前記底面部から延出され、容器本体の内側へ向けて凸となるよう湾曲する曲面形状に形成された湾曲部と、該湾曲部から前記開口縁部まで延出された延出部とを備え、前記湾曲部と前記延出部との間には、前記側壁部の周方向における少なくとも一部分に屈曲部が形成されており、
前記屈曲部の周方向の一部が、周方向の他の部分よりも前記容器本体の外側に向けて突出した突出部を備え、これにより、前記側壁部が前記屈曲部の形成された位置で平面視多角形状に形成されることを特徴とする包装用容器。
