Description
以下に記載される用語は、定義されるような意味を有する。
支持構造体を作製するのに使用される材料のたわみ剛性を、ASTM D5342−97、第12.1〜12.7項に従って測定した。このとき、ブランクフィルムから6つの試験試料を矩形(幅約25.4mm×長さ約70mm)に切断した。試料は次のように準備した。テイバーV−5たわみ試験装置(Taber V-5 Stiffener tester)型式150−E(テイバー社(Taber Corporation)製、14120、ニューヨーク州ノーストナウォンダ、ブライアント・ストリート、455(455 Bryant Street, North Tonawanda, New York, 14120))を、10〜100テイバー剛性ユニット構造で使用して、試験試料を測定した。試験の終わりに装置の表示部からテイバー剛性読取値を記録し、次の等式を用いてたわみ剛性を計算した。
レスピレータ支持構造体の試料を、標準射出成形過程を用いて作製した。図1の支持構造体の形状と一致する、単一空洞の雄雌成形型を、ツール・メーカーで製造した。リラックス状態の、又は支持構造体が依然として成形型上にある間の支持構造体の寸法は、上下が約115m、左右が約120mmであった。測定は、レスピレータがストレスを受けていない状態で、側部外縁部材の外縁及び外側縁部の最上点と最下点との間の直線に沿って行われた。支持構造体を含む部材の目標厚さは2.5ミリメートルであった。成形型から支持構造体をより容易に取り外すことができるように、横方向に延在する部材の断面は台形であった。横方向に延在する部材の断面積は、約2〜5mm2に及んだ。フランジ及びバックルは、2007年9月20日に出願された「曲げストラップ取り付け部材を有するバックル及びそれを用いたレスピレータ(Buckle Having A Flexural Strap Attachment Member And Respirator Using Such Buckle)」と題される、米国特許出願第60/994,644号(代理人整理番号63577US002)に示される形状及び構造を有した。ポリプロピレン/熱可塑性エラストマー混合物を、白色顔料と共に押出成形機に送り込んだ。トータル社製のプロピレン5724を78重量%、クラレ(Kuraray)製のセプトン(Septon)(商標)を20重量%、及びTiO2顔料を2重量%使用した。支持構造体は約240MPaのたわみ剛性を示した。
レスピレータフィルタ構造体を、幅254mmで、同じ幅の1平方メートル当たり50グラム(gsm)の白色不織布繊維スパンボンド材料の1つの外層と、22gsmの白色不織布繊維スパンボンド材料の1つの内層との間に積層された、2層の不織布繊維エレクトレットフィルタ材から形成した。不織布繊維スパンボンド材料の両層はポリプロピレンから作製された。エレクトレットフィルタ材は、スリーエム(3M)8511 N95レスピレータで使用されている標準フィルタ材であった。積層されたウェブブランクを長さ254mmの長片に切断して、支持構造体に嵌合されるカップの形態に形成される前の正方形を形成した。
フェイスシール:標準3M 4000シリーズレスピレータフェイスシール材。
ノーズクリップを図1及び図2に示されるように逆U字型に曲げて、型穴の鼻部分の形状をほぼ一致させた。次に、ノーズクリップを型穴の中に手動で設置し、半分の成形型を閉じて、溶融高分子材料を支持構造体成形型の中に注入した。高分子材料はノーズクリップ末端部を封入し、かつ凝固が起こるとノーズクリップに機械的に結合した。続いて、成形型を開き、ノーズクリップが結合した支持構造体を取り外した。
Claims (3)
- (a)ハーネスと、
(b)マスク本体であって、
(i)フィルタ構造体と、
(ii)プラスチック製支持構造体と、
(iii)該プラスチック製支持構造体をその周囲に成型して該プラスチック製支持構造体に固定されるようにしたノーズクリップと、を有するマスク本体と、を備えた、濾過フェイスピースレスピレータにして、
前記プラスチック製支持構造体は、開口部を画定する第1及び第2の収束部材を含む鼻部分を有し、
前記ノーズクリップは、前記開口部を横切って延在する、濾過フェイスピースレスピレータ。 - (a)ノーズクリップを提供する工程と、
(b)該ノーズクリップの少なくとも一部の周辺にプラスチック製支持構造体をインサート成型する工程と、
(c)該プラスチック製支持構造体にフィルタ構造体を接合する工程と、を有する、濾過フェイスピースレスピレータのマスク本体の製造方法。 - 前記プラスチック製支持構造体が、前記ノーズクリップの端部の周りに射出成形される、請求項2記載の製造方法。
