側方に扉開口を有する装置筐体内に着脱自在に設けられ、少なくとも転写可能な像が保持される像保持体を含む作像手段と、
前記装置筐体の扉開口縁に回転支点を中心として開閉自在に設けられて扉開口を開閉する開閉扉と、
前記作像手段による像保持体上の像を記録材に転写するために配設され、前記装置筐体に対して前記開閉扉の回転支点とは異なる回転支点を中心に回転自在に設けられ且つ開閉扉の開閉動作に追従して開閉扉に対して相対移動する転写構成体と、
前記開閉扉に設けられて開閉扉開閉時に転写構成体を移動案内する案内部材及び転写構成体に設けられて開閉扉開閉時に前記案内部材に当接する被案内部材を有する案内機構と、
前記開閉扉に着脱自在に保持されて開閉扉と転写構成体との間に設けられ、片面作像済みの記録材の他の片面に対して作像可能にすべく前記作像手段の手前まで片面作像済みの記録材が搬送部材にて両面搬送経路を経て戻される両面搬送構成体とを備え、
