Description
以下に、本発明の第1実施形態を図1を参照して詳細に説明する。
本例は、空気を圧縮して高温とし、ここに燃料を噴射して自己着火させるディーゼルエンジンに係り、特に排気ガスの熱と脱水素触媒を用いてベース燃料を改質して水素を生成する反応器を備えたディーゼルエンジンに関するものである。
一方、シクロヘキサンを例とした脱水系反応は下記の通りであり、1モルのシクロヘキサンから1モルのトルエンと、3モルの水素が生成し、熱回収ができる。

以下に、本発明の第2実施形態を図2を参照して詳細に説明する。
本例は、混合気を圧縮して自己着火させるディーゼルエンジンに係り、特に排気ガスの熱と脱水素触媒を用いてベース燃料をセタン価の低い燃料に改質するとともに水素を生成する反応器を備え、これらセタン価の異なる2種類の燃料を負荷に応じて適宜に供給制御することで排出ガスの低減と燃費の向上を同時に達成できるPCCIエンジンに関するものである。

Claims (5)
- 供給された燃料を自己着火させて燃焼させるエンジン本体と、前記エンジン本体から排出される排気ガスの熱と脱水素触媒を用いてベース燃料タンクのベース燃料の一部をベース燃料よりセタン価の低い改質燃料に改質するとともに水素を生成する反応器とを有し、得られた改質燃料を前記ベース燃料タンクに直接戻して燃料全体としてのセタン価を減少させ、改質燃料をベース燃料とともに前記エンジン本体に供給して燃焼させることにより駆動されることを特徴とするディーゼルエンジン。
- 前記水素を、前記エンジン本体に供給して燃焼させることを特徴とする請求項1記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 前記エンジン本体から排出された排気ガスを浄化する排気ガス浄化触媒を備え、前記水素を前記排気ガス浄化触媒に供給して窒素酸化物を還元するための還元剤として使用することを特徴とする請求項1記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 前記改質燃料を、高負荷運転時にのみ前記エンジン本体に供給し、圧縮した高温の空気に噴射することにより自己着火して燃焼させることを特徴とする請求項1記載のディーゼルエンジン。
- 相対的に高負荷とされる運転条件下では、前記改質燃料をより多く使用するとともに、相対的に低負荷とされる運転条件下では、前記ベース燃料をより多く使用するように前記ベース燃料と前記改質燃料の供給を制御し、燃料と空気の混合気を圧縮することにより自己着火して燃焼させることを特徴とする請求項1記載のディーゼルエンジン。
