Description
かかる電池では、過大な電気負荷が加えられたり、過度の熱負荷が加えられたりすると、電池内部で短絡状態が発生してガスを発生し、電池内圧が異常上昇する。また、電池が過充電状態になった場合にも、電解液の分解により電池内でガスが発生し、電池内圧が異常上昇する。電池が内圧の異常上昇に耐えられなくなると破裂して内容物が飛散する。このため、電池には、所定の内圧以上になると開裂作動して電池内圧を解放することで、電池の破裂を未然に防止する開裂ベントが備えられている。
ただし、電池落下時に開裂ベント16の破損や、図6に示すような蓋3の変形がおこりやすくなるため75%以下であることが好ましく、70%以下であることがさらに好ましい。
また、開裂ベント16の左右方向の中央から蓋3の左端までの長さ寸法(L1)は4.75mmであり、蓋3の左右幅寸法L2は28.95mmであり、比率(L1/L2)は0.16である。その他の点は、実施例1と同じにした。

Claims (4)
- 電池缶の開口上面を塞ぐ左右横長の蓋と、前記蓋に配して電池内圧が異常上昇したときに開裂する薄肉弁体を有する開裂ベントとを含む密閉角形電池において、
前記開裂ベントは、前記蓋の外面側であって前記蓋の左右方向のいずれか一方の端寄りの長円形状のコイニング部内に形成された長円状の周回溝とこれに囲まれた薄肉弁体を有し、前記長円状の周回溝が蓋の長手方向に平行な長辺部の薄肉部と、これらの長辺部をつなぐ円弧状の薄肉部で構成され、一方の長辺部の薄肉部、他方の長辺部の薄肉部、開裂ベントの薄肉弁体の順に肉厚が厚くなるように設計され、且つ、円弧状の薄肉部の肉厚が、一方の長辺部の薄肉部の肉厚と同じであり、
電池内圧の異常上昇時に前記電池缶が膨張変形することによって、前記薄肉部のうち肉厚が厚い他方の長辺部の薄肉部以外の溝部が開裂することを特徴とする密閉角形電池。 - 電池缶の開口上面を塞ぐ左右横長の蓋と、前記蓋に配して電池内圧が異常上昇したときに開裂する薄肉弁体を有する開裂ベントとを含む密閉角形電池において、
前記開裂ベントは、前記蓋の外面側であって前記蓋の左右方向のいずれか一方の端寄りの長円形状のコイニング部内に形成された長円状の周回溝とこれに囲まれた薄肉弁体を有し、前記長円状の周回溝が蓋の長手方向に平行な長辺部の薄肉部と、これらの長辺部をつなぐ円弧状の薄肉部で構成され、一方の長辺部の薄肉部、他方の長辺部の薄肉部、開裂ベントの薄肉弁体の順に肉厚が厚くなるように設計され、且つ、円弧状の薄肉部の肉厚が、一方の長辺部の薄肉部の肉厚と同じであり、
電池内圧の異常上昇時に前記電池缶が膨張変形することによって、前記薄肉部のうち肉厚の薄い一方の長辺部の薄肉部から開裂することを特徴とする密閉角形電池。 - 前記周回溝の他方の長辺部の薄肉部の肉厚が前記周回溝の一方の長辺部の薄肉部の肉厚の1.5〜3.0倍である請求項1または2に記載の密閉角形電池。
- 前記開裂ベントの薄肉弁体の肉厚が前記周回溝の一方の長辺部の薄肉部の肉厚の2.0〜5.0倍である請求項1または2に記載の密閉角形電池。
