Description

The present invention relates to printer paper that requires distinction between the front and back sides, and more particularly, to a printer paper that has a sign that can recognize the back of the paper and that disappears after the paper is used.

By improving the image quality of digital cameras and improving the image quality of inkjet printers in conjunction with the spread of personal computers, images taken with digital cameras instead of silver halide photographs can be processed with personal computers at home and printed with inkjet printers. It has become very popular in recent years. In order to improve the image quality of inkjet printers, improvements have been made in nozzles, ink, and paper.

When an inkjet printer is used for printing a photograph, it is necessary to use a sheet dedicated to the inkjet printer in order to obtain an image quality similar to that of a silver salt photograph in order to obtain a high-quality photographic image. Inkjet printer paper requires various devices such as preventing ink from bleeding and preventing curling, and a method of processing this paper into a glossy surface has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

In addition, an invention in which a back layer is formed for the purpose of reducing friction during paper conveyance is also known (see, for example, Patent Document 2), and the back surface is also glossy. For this reason, it is difficult to distinguish between the front and the back unless care is taken carefully, and there is a problem that printing is performed on the back side of the dedicated paper by mistake.

Therefore, when creating inkjet paper, measures such as printing the company name in light gray on the back surface are taken so as not to make the user uncomfortable, but it is sufficient to allow the user to identify the printed characters. If there is no sufficient density, the front and back sides will not be understood, and if the density of the printed characters is too high, the user may be uncomfortable. Moreover, it is not an exaggeration to say that there is a large individual difference in the visual acuity of the user, and it is virtually impossible to perform printing that can cover the individual differences of all users.
Japanese Patent No. 3313320 JP 2000-190620 A

The present invention has been made in consideration of the above-described circumstances, and based on the above-described problems of the prior art, characters and pictures that represent the back side with a sufficient density that allows the user to clearly recognize the front and back of the inkjet printer paper. Alternatively, an object of the present invention is to provide a printer paper on which a color layer is formed on the back surface and the identification character or the pattern can be erased after a sufficient time for the user to identify the front and back surfaces.

In order to achieve this object, the invention according to claim 1 is characterized in that a color is developed by the first external stimulus on the back side where printing is not performed, and the color is erased by a second external stimulus different from the first external stimulus. A coloring / decoloring layer is provided, and a label capable of identifying the back side of the paper is formed on the coloring / decoloring layer by coloring by the first external stimulus, and is packed in a case that does not transmit visible light. And printer paper.

According to a second aspect of the invention, in the first aspect of the invention, the first external stimulus and the second external stimulus are each light irradiation.

According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the second aspect of the invention, the first external stimulus is ultraviolet irradiation, and the second external stimulus is visible light irradiation .

According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the invention according to any one of the first to third aspects, the color developing / decoloring layer includes a photochromic compound .

According to the present invention, when the user removes the printer paper from the case, the back surface clearly represents the back surface by the printer paper characterized in that the back surface is formed with a color developing / erasing layer that changes color by light irradiation. Since characters or designs are formed, there is no mistakenly printed on the back side, so it is excellent in cost performance and user friendliness, and after the user finishes printing, the characters or designs on the back side take special measures. Inkjet printer paper that can easily recognize the front and back without causing discomfort to the user because the user's normal work contents are directly linked to the erasing work without special erasing work for the user. It is also possible to provide printer paper that can be provided and does not disappear before the user uses the characters or pictures that represent the front and back. That.

The best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
First, as an embodiment of the present invention, a photochromic material is applied to the back surface at the stage of creating a paper that requires distinction between the back and the front, such as an inkjet printer paper. Then, as shown in FIG. 1, when cutting and packing ink jet printer paper at a factory, letters or designs representing the back side are drawn on the back side by irradiation with ultraviolet light (in some cases, the entire surface may be colored). Possible) and shipped in bags or boxes that block visible light. It is preferable to select a material having a high decoloring speed as the photochromic material to be used, for example, several hours are sufficient for the user to take out the inkjet printer paper from the packing bag or box and finish printing. It is not limited. Moreover, the color which forms a character, a picture, etc. is not limited, What is necessary is just to select a well-known photochromic material suitably, and basically any photochromic material can be used. Note that not a photochromic material but a thermochromic material can be used in some cases. That is, it may be a dye material that develops color when an external stimulus under a certain predetermined condition is applied, and decolors when an external condition different from that is applied. In the present invention, it is preferable to use a coloring material that is decolored (or fades) when irradiated with light, for example, is decolored with visible light.

Especially when the user removes it from the bag in order to erase the color with visible light, even if a character or a picture that clearly shows the back side is formed, the user must take special measures in an environment where the user uses ink jet printer paper. If the erasing is performed simply by irradiating visible light, the erasing operation is automatically performed without giving the user a feeling of trouble.

Examples of such a pigment material (coloring material) include 2- [1- (5-methyl-2-phenyl-4-oxazolyl) ethylidene] -3-isopropylidene succinic anhydride, 2- [1- (2, 5-dimethyl-3-furyl) ethylidene] -3-adamantylidene succinic anhydride, 2- [1- (5-methyl-2-p-pyridyl-4-oxazolyl) ethylidene] -3-isopropylidene succinic acid And photochromic materials such as anhydride and 2- [1- (2,5-dimethyl-3-thienyl) ethylidene] -3-isopropylidene succinic anhydride. In the present invention, when a photochromic material is used for the coloring / decoloring layer by ultraviolet irradiation, the thickness of the coloring / decoloring layer tends to be determined by affecting the λ MAX even at the coloring wavelength of this layer. For example, this layer may have a thickness of several μm or less, and the minimum thickness may be a thickness having a hue that can be recognized when color is developed. The density of the color material in the color developing / decoloring layer is the lowest density that can be discriminated when color is developed. This is different depending on the color material, and the maximum density is a density within a range where color development disappears reversibly after color development. Can be determined by

Commercially available inkjet printer paper (Super Fine Paper KA4250NSF manufactured by Epson) was used as the printer paper of this example.
10 parts by weight of 2- [1- (2,5-dimethyl-3-furyl) ethylidene] -3-adamantylidene succinic anhydride is added to 100 parts by weight of polystyrene, and dissolved in toluene to prepare a coating solution. did.
The letter “RICOH” was printed on the back side of the inkjet printer paper using an inkjet printer (Epson PM790-TM). The thickness of the color developing / decoloring layer on this ink jet printer paper was 1 μm. The back side printed with RICOH was irradiated with black light (ultraviolet light source) as a light source, and it was confirmed that the characters could be clearly recognized. After being left for a day, the inkjet printer paper was taken out and the characters printed on the back side could be clearly recognized, and it was confirmed that the front and back sides could be distinguished as shown in FIG.
Furthermore, when the back surface was irradiated with light under fluorescent lamp 700 lx (700 lux) for 2 hours, it was confirmed that the characters on the back surface were colorless and transparent as shown in FIG.
