Description
The present invention relates to an ink cartridge for an ink jet recording apparatus (hereinafter also referred to as an ink cartridge) in which an ink container having an ink lead-out portion and an ink storage portion is housed in an outer box.
Recently, digital devices have made remarkable progress. Inkjet printers for visualizing information output from digital devices are required to become more precise with the progress of digital devices, and the image size is also increasing. Ink jet recording apparatuses (printers) use an ink cartridge that contains an ink container having an ink outlet part and an ink storage part in order to supply ink to an ink jet recording apparatus (printer) head (hereinafter also referred to as a head). Yes.
As the amount of ink used increases as the image size increases, the size of the ink storage section has also increased. Further, with the increase in size of the ink storage section, an ink container having an ink storage section and an ink lead-out section using a multilayer material in which various thermoplastic resin films are laminated is used from the viewpoint of ease of production and cost. The following functions are required for ink cartridges used in ink jet recording apparatuses.
1) An ink container of an ink container that holds the performance of the ink itself, such as viscosity and surface tension, for a long period of time is required so that the ink jet recording apparatus can stably draw characters, images, etc. on the recording paper. Has been.
2) Prevent bubbles from being generated on the ink flow path from the ink container to the head of the ink jet recording apparatus, and blockage of the ink flow path by foreign matter.
3) The ink cartridge can be easily attached to and detached from the ink jet recording apparatus.
As measures against these requirements, for example, JP-A-54-151033, JP-A-56-44669, JP-A-54-151033, JP-A-56-44669, JP-A-62-121062, JP-A-7-323559. Multilayer film material is used as a material constituting the ink storage portion of the ink container as described in Japanese Patent No. 2001-232812 and 2003-320677.
An ink cartridge that uses such a multilayer film material and stores an ink pack in which an ink outlet portion is attached to the end of a bag-shaped ink storage container in an outer box is disclosed in, for example, JP-A-2002-260374 and 2003-2003. 145785 and 2003-226023.
In recent years, it is a general tendency that the capacity of an ink storage portion of an ink container stored in an ink cartridge is increased with an increase in image size. Along with the expansion of the capacity of the ink storage unit, there has been an accident of ink leakage due to damage to the ink storage unit due to dropping when transporting the ink cartridge, vibration and dropping during handling. Various studies have been made so far to prevent damage to the ink storage portion due to dropping, vibration, and the like. For example, when storing an ink container in an outer box, an ink cartridge that regulates the movement of the ink storage section in the outer box by pushing the ink storage section with a projection (pressing member) provided inside the outer box is known. (For example, see Patent Document 1). There is known an ink cartridge that wraps the entire ink container with a buffer member to prevent an impact at the time of dropping, an impact from the outside, and the like (for example, see Patent Document 2). An ink cartridge is known in which an ink container having a reinforcing member bonded to an ink storage portion is placed on a pedestal, the movement of the ink outlet is regulated by the pedestal, and the remaining amount of ink is reduced by the reinforcing member (for example, Patent Document 3). See). However, in the case of the ink cartridge described in

On the surface of the ink cartridge of the present invention, a display for identifying the ink therein is displayed. As a display method, it may be displayed directly on the surface of the cartridge, or a display for identifying is provided. A method of attaching a label may be used.
The following effects were obtained by surface processing the inner surface of the outer box. 1) The slipperiness between the ink container of the ink container shown in FIG. 5 and the inner surface of the outer box is improved, and when the ink in the ink container decreases, it is buffered by the corrugated flute (core) wave. Therefore, the occurrence of wrinkles can be suppressed, and the ink remaining in the valleys between the waves can be eliminated, so that the remaining amount of ink can be reduced. 2) Friction between the ink container of the ink container and the inner surface of the outer box due to vibration during transportation is reduced, and the ink container is difficult to break.

FIG. 6 is an enlarged schematic cross-sectional view of the ink cartridge taken along the line AA ′ of FIG.
The position of the
The rear end portion of the
For this reason, when the

In the figure, the alternate long and short dash line indicates a crease line. The following effects can be obtained by using the ink cartridge of the present invention shown in FIGS. 1) By making the flute direction of the double-sided corrugated cardboard parallel to the short side of the top surface of the outer box, the resistance against the load from the top surface is improved. It became possible to reduce the damage to the box. 2) Surface treatment of the inner surface of the outer box improves the slidability between the ink container of the ink container and the inner surface of the outer box, and when the ink in the ink container decreases, the flute (inside Since deformation occurs without being buffered by the wave of the core, the generation of wrinkles can be suppressed, and ink remaining in the valleys between the waves can be eliminated, so that the remaining amount of ink can be reduced. 3) The movement of the ink outlet portion of the ink container in the ink cartridge is restricted by the position restriction member (first position restriction member, second position restriction member), and the end of the ink storage portion is moved by the protection member. By being regulated, resistance to vibration and dropping during transportation and handling has been improved, and it has become possible to prevent damage to the ink storage section, and it has become possible to transport and handle with peace of mind. 4) The outer box of the ink cartridge is produced by folding and folding a single development substrate (one piece material) along the folding line without using adhesives, staples, etc., and the material is also a single material. Therefore, disassembly after use is facilitated, and when the ink cartridge main body is disposed of, reuse as a paper material is facilitated, and environmental suitability is improved.
