Description
ダウンロード時間が長くなると、例えば、ネットワーク輻輳、発信元及び宛先のハードウェア及び/又はソフトウェアの機能不良等といった様々な理由からデータ転送が失敗する確率が増加する。インターネットを介するデータ転送には、最終宛先に到達する前に幾つかのルータを経由する必要のあるデータパケットの伝送が関連する。パケットが次のルータに転送されるたびに、ホップが発生する。インターネットを介するビデオのダウンロード及びストリーミングは、データパケット当りのホップ数が増加するに従いより頻繁に発生する失敗により妨げられる。例えば、一部のデータが供給されなかったり、受信機械がフリーズしてしまったりする。
Claims (7)
- 各電子装置がヘッドエンドによりアクセス可能な部分に格納されているコンテンツを各エンドユーザが移動、削除又は変更することを防ぐよう構成される上記ヘッドエンドによりアクセス可能な部分を有し、各エンドユーザが有する電子装置を含むピア・ツー・ピアデータネットワークに接続される電子ヘッドエンド制御システムを有するデータ処理システムを使用して、複数のエンドユーザがコンテンツを受信することを可能にする方法であって、
上記コンテンツを上記電子ヘッドエンド制御システムに供給する段階と、
上記電子ヘッドエンド制御システムの制御下で上記電子装置の上記ヘッドエンドによりアクセス可能な部分上で上記コンテンツを分散格納するため、上記ピア・ツー・ピアデータネットワークを使用する段階と、
上記コンテンツを分散格納するためアクセスデータを格納する段階と、
特定のエンドユーザによる上記電子ヘッドエンド制御システムへの上記コンテンツに対するリクエストに応答して、上記分散格納されたコンテンツのアクセスデータを上記特定のエンドユーザが有する電子装置に供給する段階と、
を含む方法。 - 上記データ処理システムは、上記ピア・ツー・ピアデータネットワークにルックアップサービスを提供するよう構成されるアクセスデータのための電子レジスタを有し、
当該方法はさらに、
上記電子ヘッドエンド制御システムに上記コンテンツの分散格納のため、上記アクセスデータを上記電子レジスタに格納させる段階と、
上記電子ヘッドエンド制御システムに、該電子ヘッドエンド制御システムが上記特定のエンドユーザから上記コンテンツに対するリクエストを受け付けると、上記電子レジスタから上記特定のエンドユーザの電子装置にアクセスデータを提供させる段階と、
を含む請求項1記載の方法。 - 上記ネットワーク上にて利用可能なコンテンツを提示する電子コンテンツガイドとして上記ルックアップサービスを供給するサービスを含む請求項2記載の方法。
- 複数の電子ヘッドエンド制御システムを用い、各電子ヘッドエンド制御システムは、多数のピア・ツー・ピアデータネットワークのうちの各ピア・ツー・ピアデータネットワークに接続される請求項1記載の方法。
- 上記格納されたコンテンツを上記アクセスデータに係る電子装置から上記特定のエンドユーザの電子装置に供給する段階を含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 上記コンテンツを選択するために、上記エンドユーザにユーザインタフェース(UI)を供給する段階を含む請求項1記載の方法。
- 各エンドユーザが有する電子装置を含むピア・ツー・ピアデータネットワークに接続される電子ヘッドエンド制御システムを有するデータ処理システムにおいて用いるエンドユーザ電子装置であって、
上記電子装置は、上記電子ヘッドエンド制御システムの制御の下でコンテンツを分散格納するよう構成され、
上記エンドユーザ電子装置は、
上記電子ヘッドエンド制御システムによるリクエストに応答して、分散されたコンテンツの少なくとも一部を格納するよう構成されるヘッドエンドによりアクセス可能な記憶部であって、上記ヘッドエンドによりアクセス可能な記憶部に格納されるコンテンツを上記各エンドユーザが移動、削除又は変更することを防ぐよう構成される上記ヘッドエンドによりアクセス可能な記憶部と、
上記ピア・ツー・ピアデータネットワーク内の他の電子装置に上記ヘッドエンドによりアクセス可能な記憶部に格納されたコンテンツを、上記他の電子装置によるリクエストに応答して、供給するよう構成される制御器と、を含むエンドユーザ電子装置。
