Description
本発明の促進剤は、特に乾燥及び半乾燥ペットフード用の、摂取可能な組成物への嗜好性の飛躍的な向上をもたらす。本発明の促進剤は比較的低コストで、容易に使用され、多形態及び多くの調法をとる摂取可能な製品に組み込まれ得る。
本発明の嗜好促進組成物はトリポリリン酸塩、特に、トリポリリン酸ナトリウム(STPP)及びトリポリリン酸カリウム(KTPP)のほか、トリポリリン酸ナトリウム及びカリウムの混合塩からも調製される。好ましくは、嗜好促進組成物はSTPP由来の1以上のトリポリリン酸ナトリウム塩を含む。したがって、好適な実施形態はSTPPに関して記載される。しかし、KTPPならびにトリポリリン酸ナトリウム及びカリウムの混合塩をSTPPに代替してもよく、KTPPならびにトリポリリン酸の混合塩の使用は本発明の範囲に含まれる。

0重量%‐20重量%の海産物を原料とした粉;
0重量%‐10重量%の動物性脂肪;
0重量%‐10重量%のブドウ糖果糖液糖;
0重量%‐10重量%の乾燥糖蜜;
0重量%‐1.5重量%のリン酸;及び
0重量%‐1.5重量%のクエン酸。
以下の例では家庭用猫のための食品用のポリリン酸ナトリウム塩の嗜好促進剤としての効果について説明する。試験データはおよそ20匹の猫からなる被験猫にそれぞれ2つの異なる食品の配合を与えるという標準的な2ボールテスト手法によって得られた。各ボール中の食品は猫に与えられる前に計量され、与えられる際には、ボールは並べて配置された。ボールの配置は毎日反転させた。食品が猫に提供されると、猫は最大16時間まで自由に選択してどちらか一方のボールから食事をとることが許される。ボールを取り去った後に、各ボールの食品の残量をそれぞれ計量し、重量の差分を消費量として記録した。その後、2つ並べたボールのそれぞれの食品消費量を比較し、消費比率(C.R.)を決定した。STPPを用いた様々な乾燥キャットフード組成物の相対的嗜好性を2つの既知の嗜好促進ピロリン酸塩(STPP及びSAPP)に対して比較した。
他の促進剤との基本的な比較のため、30%のTSPPとともに乾燥混合されたPH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤を使用して標準的なキャットフードをコーティングした。これを、30%のSAPPとともに乾燥混合されたPH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤でコーティングされた標準的なキャットフードと比較した。2つの食品の被験猫による消費は本質的に同じで、二者間での本質的な嗜好傾向は見られなかった。
PH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤が30%のSTPPとともに乾燥混合され、標準的なキャットフードのコーティングのために使用された。これを、30%のTSPPとともに乾燥混合されたPH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤でコーティングされた標準的なキャットフードと比較した。被検猫はTSPPでコーティングされた食品とSTPPでコーティングされた食品を約2対1の割合で食べた。
22匹、21匹及び24匹の猫を用いた3つの個々の試験において、PH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤が30%のSTPPとともに共にスプレー乾燥され、標準的なキャットフードのコーティングのために使用された。これを、30%のTSPPとともに乾燥混合されたPH&L消化物を含む乾燥風味促進剤でコーティングされた標準的なキャットフードと比較した。被験猫は、乾燥混合されたSTPPに比べて乾燥混合されたTSPPに対し嗜好傾向を示した実施例2とは正反対に、STPPに対し顕著な嗜好傾向を示した。
23匹の猫の試験において、PH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤が30%のSTPPとともに乾燥混合され、標準的なキャットフードのコーティングのために使用された。これを、30%のSTPPとともにスプレー乾燥されたPH&L消化物を含む乾燥風味促進剤でコーティングされた標準的なキャットフードと比較した。被験猫は、スプレー乾燥されたSTPPに対し5対1の割合で強い嗜好傾向を示した。
PH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤が15%のSTPPとともに乾燥混合され、標準的なキャットフードのコーティングに使用された。これを、15%のTSPPとともに乾燥混合されたPH&L消化物を含む乾燥風味促進剤でコーティングされたスタンダードキャットフードと比較した。被験猫はTSPPでコーティングされた食品とSTPPでコーティングされた食品を約3対1の割合で食べた。
22匹の猫がそれぞれ含まれる2つの別々の試験において、PH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤は15%のSTPPとともにスプレー乾燥され、標準的なキャットフードのコーティングに使用された。これを、15%のTSPPとともに乾燥混合されたPH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤によってコーティングされた標準的なキャットフードと比較した。被検猫は、乾燥混合されたSTPPが使用された実施例5に比べ、スプレー乾燥されたSTPPに対しより強い嗜好傾向を示した。
PH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤を30%のSTPPとともにスプレー乾燥し、標準的なキャットフードのコーティングに使用した。これを、30%のSAPPとともに乾燥混合されたPH&L消化物を含む風味促進剤でコーティングされた標準的なキャットフードと比較した。2つの別々の試験において被験猫はSTPPに対して顕著な嗜好傾向を示した。
PH&L消化物と8.5%のSTPPを含む液体の風味促進剤を標準的なキャットフードのコーティングのためにスプレー塗布した。これを、PH&L消化物と8.5%のTSPPを含む液体の風味促進剤でスプレーコーティングされた標準的なキャットフードと比較した。2つの製品は嗜好試験において同等の結果であった。
2つの別個の試験において、乾燥動物消化物のみでコーティングされた対照の標準キャットフードが、15%及び30%のSTPPを用いてスプレー乾燥されたPH&L消化物でコーティングされた評価用の標準キャットフードに対して検査された。被験猫はSTPPでコーティングされたキャットフードに対して嗜好傾向を示した。
Claims (9)
- 少なくとも1つのトリポリリン酸ナトリウム塩を含み、4から10までの間のpH値を有する液体の嗜好促進組成物を乾燥させ、乾燥された当該組成物を押し出しペットフード組成物に塗布することを有する押し出しペットフード製品の嗜好性を向上させる方法であって、前記嗜好促進組成物が前記ペットフード組成物に対して0.01から5.0重量%までの少なくとも1つのトリポリリン酸ナトリウム塩を与えるのに十分な量塗布され、かつ前記嗜好促進組成物が肉製品、肉副産物、魚製品、魚副産物、乳製品、乳副産物、微生物タンパク質源、植物性タンパク質、炭水化物、及びアミノ酸からなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの成分をさらに含む、方法。
- 前記嗜好促進組成物が前記ペットフード組成物に対して0.05から2.0重量%までの少なくとも1つのトリポリリン酸ナトリウム塩を与えるのに十分な量塗布される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記押し出しペットフード組成物が乾燥キャットフードである、請求項1に記載の方法。
