Description
本発明は、機能的流体の分析に関し、機能的流体の分析のための方法および装置を含む。特に、分析される機能的流体としては、潤滑流体および燃料(例えば、自動車、トラック、エンジン、タービン、ポンプ、トランスミッション、差動歯車などにおいて使用されるもの)が挙げられる。
機能的流体(潤滑油が挙げられる)の分析のための方法が、存在している。特に、流体の状態または種類を試験するための方法および装置は、クロマトグラフィーおよび化学分析を含む。これらの方法は、一般に、制御された条件および特殊な訓練を必要とする。
本発明の目的は、機能的流体の質または識別を、野外で迅速に、訓練されていない人員により、精密な測定なしで試験するための方法を提供することである。本発明のさらなる目的は、機能的流体を野外で迅速に分析するための方法を提供することである。本発明のさらなる目的は、機能的流体を野外で迅速に分析するための試験キットを提供することである。最後に、種々の吸収材料(ワイプ、店のタオル、ペーパータオル、およびナプキン)が、これらの機能的流体を確認するために通常使用されるので、本発明は、これらの吸収材料の必要な有用性を、さらなる利点を提供する診断機能と組み合わせると考えられる。
(1)機能的流体のサンプルを得る工程、
(2)機能的流体のサンプルを試験媒体上に置く工程、
(3)この流体を試験媒体上の指示薬または展開剤と反応させる工程;および
(4)この反応の結果を分析して、この流体の状態の決定を行う工程、

本発明は、機能的流体の状態を分析するための方法およびデバイス(例えば、キット)を提供する。機能的流体は、無数の供給源から得られ、これらの供給源としては、内燃機関、タービン、トランスミッション、差動歯車、ポンプ、金属細工操作、冷却システムなどが挙げられる。機能的流体としては、有機溶媒ベースのもの、水性ベースのもの、およびこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。機能的流体としては、潤滑油、エンジン油、歯車油、トランスミッション流体、液圧流体、金属細工流体、不凍液、冷却システム流体、コーティングシステム流体、農場用トラクター流体、変圧器流体、グリース、燃料(例えば、ディーゼル、ガソリン、生物燃料、乳化燃料)などが挙げられる。
試験されるべき機能的流体は、適切な試験媒体上に置かれる。この試験媒体は、吸収材料、非吸収材料、およびこれらの組み合わせからなり得る。試験媒体としては、紙、セルロース性材料(例えば、セルロース、硝酸セルロース、酢酸セルロース)、木材、クロマトグラフィー紙、濾紙、ポリマー繊維、天然繊維、目の細かい織布、金属、ガラス、微小ガラス繊維、焼結ガラス、シリカおよび/またはアルミナでコーティングされた表面(例えば、薄層クロマトグラフィー板)、プラスチック、プラスチック積層材料、複合材料、ならびにこれらの組み合わせが挙げられる。試験媒体は、機能的流体のサンプルを受容し得なければならない。試験媒体は、指示薬および/または展開剤と適合性であるべきである。クロマトグラフィー紙の一般的な物理的特性および特徴を有する他の吸収材料/吸着材料もまた、認容可能である。
本発明の目的のための指示試薬は、化学的系の状態が特徴付けられることを可能にする物質である。指示薬としては、種々の酸/塩基指示薬、金属指示薬、レドックス指示薬、色素、吸収指示薬などが挙げられる。指示薬の組み合わせが、使用され得る。
分析(特に、反応した試験サンプルの定性分析)は、(提供された)視覚指標を指針として使用して、反応した試験サンプルの視覚検査によって、達成される。分析は、流体の成分と指示薬との間での反応を可能にするために充分な時間の後に、行われる。一般に、反応のための時間は、約1秒〜約30分であり、別の実施形態において、約1分〜約15分であり、そして別の実施形態において、約1分〜約5分である。視覚指標としては、美術的解釈、種々の状態の機能的流体の写真の再生、色キーなどが挙げられる。視覚指標の組み合わせが使用され得る。視覚指標は、一般に、試験媒体上に配置された機能的流体の、1つの表現、2つの表現、および2つより多くの表現を含む。1つの実施形態において、好ましい視覚指標は、1つの認容不可能な状態のものと、1つの認容可能な状態のもの、またはマークされた流体とマークされていない流体などである。
試験媒体は、乾式であっても湿式であってもよい。試験媒体が湿式である1つの実施形態において、これは、試験媒体上での溶媒の使用に起因する。適切な溶媒としては、脂肪族炭化水素、不飽和炭化水素、芳香族炭化水素、アルコール、グリコール、グリコールエーテル、低級アルコール(例えば、メタノール、エタノールおよびプロパノール)、エーテル、エステル、アミド、水などが挙げられる。溶媒の組み合わせが使用され得る。溶媒は、指示薬溶液の約1%〜約99.9%、1つの実施形態において、約5%〜約98%、そして別の実施形態において、約1%〜約95.5%の範囲で使用される。使用される溶媒は、試験される流体の型に依存する。指示薬または展開剤が、望ましい分析の用途および型に依存して、流体に不溶性である場合、溶媒の組み合わせもまた、有用である。特に、溶媒または溶媒の組み合わせは、特性(流体および指示薬またはマーカーまたは展開剤との良好な溶解力(solvency power)および混和性、周囲温度での低い蒸気圧、高い引火点などが挙げられる)の望ましい組み合わせを提供する。
方法は、(a)機能的流体のサンプルを得る工程、(b)このサンプルを試験媒体上に置く工程、(c)この流体の成分と指示薬または展開剤との間での反応を可能にするために充分な時間を待つ工程、(d)定性決定のための指針として、種々の状態の機能的流体を示す印刷された指示書および/または比較用視覚指標を使用して、試験媒体の視覚的決定を行う工程を包含する。
実施例1:この実施例は、乗用車のエンジン油の質を試験し、そしてエタノールまたはイソプロパノール(90%w/w)、ラウリルアルコール(10%w/w)、およびpH指示薬(0.1%w/w)の溶液に浸漬した、Whatman濾紙の試験媒体からなる。使用したpH指示薬は、アリザリン(1,2−ジヒドロキシアントラキノン)である。
Claims (8)
- レドックス指示薬を使用して機能的流体の状態を分析するための方法であって、該方法は、
(1)該機能的流体のサンプルを得る工程、
(2)該機能的流体のサンプルを試験媒体上に置く工程、
(3)該機能的流体を該試験媒体中のレドックス指示薬と反応させる工程;および
(4)該反応の結果を視覚的に分析する工程、
を包含し、該機能的流体の状態の決定を行う、方法であり、
該試験媒体は、マーカー物質を含み、該マーカー物質は、該機能的流体と適合性であり、そして該マーカーは、金属、金属塩、金属酸化物、金属配位錯体、およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択され、
該機能的流体が、潤滑油、エンジン油、トランスミッション流体、グリース、歯車油、液圧流体、金属細工流体、不凍液、コーティングシステム流体、冷却システム流体、農場用トラクター流体、変圧器流体、燃料、ディーゼル、ガソリン、生物燃料、乳化燃料、またはこれらの混合物である、
方法。 - 前記機能的流体の状態を決定する工程を包含し、該機能的流体の状態を決定する工程は、前記試験媒体を、指針として少なくとも2つの異なる状態の機能的流体を表す比較用視覚指標のセットと視覚的に比較すること;指針として印刷された指示書を使用すること;およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。

- 前記機能的流体に迅速な分散を提供するために、前記試験媒体が、多孔性、密度、浸透能力およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択される特性を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 展開剤を含み、該展開剤は、鉱酸または有機酸など、塩基性物質、酸化剤、還元剤、キレート剤およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択され、
前記試験媒体が、色変化、化学発光、燐光、蛍光またはこれらの組み合わせを引き起こすためのマーカー物質との反応の目的で、展開剤または検出剤で処理されている、

- レドックス指示薬を使用して機能的流体を分析するための試験キットであって、該試験キットは、レドックス指示薬を含む化学的に処理された試験媒体と、該機能的流体の状態の質を決定するための手段とを備え、該手段は、指示書、絵、図、写真およびこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択され、該試験媒体が、色の変化、化学発光、燐光、蛍光またはこれらの組み合わせを引き起こすためのマーカー物質との反応の目的で、現像剤または検出剤で処理されており、
