Description
The present invention relates to a turbocharger. In particular, the present invention relates to a turbocharger having nozzle vanes.
Some conventional internal combustion engines include a turbocharger, which is a supercharger, in order to improve operating performance. As described above, the turbocharger provided in the internal combustion engine can operate with the operation of the turbine using the pressure of the exhaust gas during operation of the internal combustion engine, and can compress air by this operation. And a compressor. For this reason, when the internal combustion engine provided with the turbocharger is operated, the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine operates the turbine of the turbocharger, the compressor is operated by the operation of the turbine, and the air is compressed and supplied to the internal combustion engine. As a result, the intake air amount of the internal combustion engine increases and the amount of fuel that can be combusted also increases, so that the operating performance can be improved.
The turbocharger is thus operated by the exhaust gas during operation of the internal combustion engine. However, the pressure of the exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine during operation of the internal combustion engine varies depending on the operation state of the internal combustion engine. Further, since the operating state of the turbocharger changes depending on the exhaust gas pressure state, when the exhaust gas pressure for operating the turbine is low, the turbocharger becomes difficult to operate, and the amount of air supplied to the internal combustion engine is small. There was a risk of reduction.
Therefore, some conventional turbochargers have a configuration in which the turbine can be operated efficiently even when the pressure of the exhaust gas decreases. For example, in the variable turbocharger described in Patent Document 1, a nozzle portion that is a gas passage is formed at a position upstream of the turbine by connecting a nozzle plate to which a nozzle vane is attached and a side plate with a support bolt. . Moreover, the nozzle vane attached to the nozzle plate is rotatably disposed in the nozzle portion. Thus, the flow of exhaust gas for operating the turbine can be adjusted by rotating the nozzle vane and adjusting the direction, and the amount of air supplied from the turbocharger to the internal combustion engine in accordance with the change in the pressure of the exhaust gas Can be suppressed.
In other words, the turbocharger can be provided with nozzle vanes and the like in this manner, so that a decrease in the supercharging pressure accompanying a change in the exhaust gas pressure can be suppressed. It has become. For this reason, in a conventional turbocharger, a high-strength material is often used for the turbine housing, which is a turbine housing, and for example, a thick iron-based cast product is used for the turbine housing. ing. However, when the turbine housing is formed of such a thick iron-based casting, the mass increases and the heat capacity of the turbine housing increases. Therefore, the heat of the exhaust gas is easily absorbed by the turbine housing.
When the heat of the exhaust gas is absorbed by the turbine housing, the temperature of the exhaust gas decreases, but a catalyst device for purifying the exhaust gas may be provided on the downstream side of the turbocharger in the flow direction of the exhaust gas. Many. As described above, when the catalyst device is provided on the downstream side of the turbocharger, the exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine is purified by the catalyst device and then released into the atmosphere, but the catalyst device has a predetermined temperature. The exhaust gas can be efficiently purified when it is within the temperature range, that is, within the temperature range to be activated. For this reason, it is preferable to maintain the temperature of the catalyst device within this range during operation of the internal combustion engine. However, when the turbine housing is formed of a thick iron-based casting and the temperature of the turbine housing is low. Since the heat of the exhaust gas is easily absorbed by the turbine housing, the temperature of the exhaust gas tends to decrease.
For example, since the temperature of the catalyst device is low when the internal combustion engine is cold started, it is necessary to quickly increase the temperature. However, when the internal combustion engine is cold start, the temperature of the turbine housing is also low. For this reason, when the internal combustion engine is cold-started when the heat capacity of the turbine housing is large, the heat of the exhaust gas is absorbed by the turbine housing and the temperature may be excessively lowered. As a result, the temperature of the catalyst device that rises due to the temperature of the exhaust gas being transmitted is unlikely to rise, and there is a possibility that the time until the activation temperature is reached is increased. Thus, it becomes difficult for the temperature of the catalyst device to rise, and when the temperature of the catalyst device does not reach the activation temperature, it is difficult to efficiently purify the exhaust gas with the catalyst device.
Therefore, some conventional turbochargers make it difficult for the heat of the exhaust gas to be absorbed by the turbine housing. For example, in the turbocharger housing described in Patent Document 2, the shell chamber through which the exhaust gas flows is defined. The portion is formed by a thin shell body made of a metal press-formed plate. Thereby, since the heat capacity of the part through which the exhaust gas flows can be reduced, the heat transmitted from the exhaust gas to the turbine housing can be reduced. Therefore, since it can suppress that the temperature of exhaust gas falls too much, a catalyst apparatus can be raised to activation temperature at an early stage, and exhaust gas can be purified efficiently.
However, when the shell body of the turbine housing is formed from a metal press-molded plate and the thickness thereof is reduced, the rigidity is lowered. Therefore, there is a risk of plastic deformation due to repeated thermal expansion and contraction during operation of the internal combustion engine. There is. That is, when the thickness of the shell body is reduced as in the supercharger housing described in Patent Document 2, the shell body has low rigidity in the axial direction of the rotating shaft of the turbine. For this reason, when exhaust gas flows into the shell chamber during operation of the internal combustion engine, the shell body thermally expands and becomes easily deformed in a direction in which the width of the shell chamber increases in the axial direction. When it stops and the temperature of the shell body decreases, the shell body contracts and becomes easy to deform in a direction in which the width of the shell chamber in the axial direction becomes narrow. Thus, since the thin shell body is easily deformed by repeated thermal expansion and contraction, there is a risk of plastic deformation due to thermal fatigue. As a result, the shell chamber may be deformed, and the performance of the turbocharger may be reduced.
In addition, in order to mitigate the adverse effects due to such low rigidity, it may be possible to secure rigidity by providing reinforcing members such as ribs. However, exhaust gas flows through the shell chamber defined by the shell body. When a reinforcing member such as a rib is provided on the shell body, the flow of exhaust gas flowing through the turbine may be hindered. As a result, the pressure of the exhaust gas for operating the turbine is reduced, so that the rotation of the turbine is reduced, and the rotation of the compressor is also reduced. Accordingly, the supercharging performance when the turbocharger is operated by the exhaust gas is reduced. There was a fear.
The present invention has been made in view of the above, and an object of the present invention is to provide a turbocharger capable of satisfying the suppression of exhaust gas temperature decrease and the securing of durability while maintaining the operating performance. To do.
In order to solve the above-described problems and achieve the object, a turbocharger according to the present invention is located on the turbine side where a turbine wheel rotatably supported is provided and exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine is A shell body that partitions the flowing shell chamber and is formed of a press-molded plate, a first base part connected to one end side of the end part of the shell body, and the other end side of the end part of the shell body A second base portion to be connected; a nozzle vane disposed in an exhaust gas passage which is a passage of the exhaust gas flowing from the shell chamber to the turbine wheel; and the nozzle vane is rotated in the exhaust gas passage. A nozzle vane holding portion that is held movably and connected to the first base portion by a holding portion connecting member located in the exhaust gas flow path, and before flowing in the exhaust gas flow path A base portion connecting portion that is located upstream or downstream of the holding portion connecting member in the flow direction of the exhaust gas and integrally connects the first base portion and the second base portion. To do.
In this invention, since the shell body which divides the shell chamber is formed of the press-molded plate, the mass can be reduced and the heat capacity can be reduced. Thereby, since the heat transmitted from the exhaust gas to the shell body when the exhaust gas passes through the shell chamber is reduced, it is possible to suppress the temperature of the exhaust gas from being excessively lowered. Further, the first base portion and the second base portion are connected to both end portions of the shell body, and the first base portion and the second base portion are integrally connected by the base portion connecting portion. For this reason, it can suppress that the relative position of a 1st base part and a 2nd base part changes, Thereby, the deformation | transformation of the shell part connected to the 1st base part and the 2nd base part can be suppressed. . Therefore, plastic deformation due to thermal fatigue of the shell portion can be suppressed, and durability can be ensured.
Further, the nozzle vane holding portion for holding the nozzle vane is connected to the first base portion by the holding portion connecting member in the variable turbocharger described in Patent Document 1 so that the nozzle plate and the side plate are connected by the support bolt. Has been. Furthermore, the base part connection part is located upstream or downstream of the holding part connection member in the exhaust gas flow direction. Thereby, in order to ensure the rigidity of the shell body, even when the base portion connection portion is provided, the base portion connection portion overlaps with the holding portion connection member in the exhaust gas flow direction, so the base portion connection portion is provided. As a result, it is possible to suppress the base portion connection portion from newly inhibiting the flow of the exhaust gas. Thereby, it can suppress that the performance of the supercharging at the time of the action | operation of the said turbocharger resulting from providing a base part connection part falls. As a result, it is possible to satisfy the suppression of the temperature drop of the exhaust gas and the securing of durability while maintaining the operating performance.
The turbocharger according to the present invention is characterized in that the first base portion, the second base portion, and the base portion connecting portion are integrally formed by casting.
In the present invention, since the first base portion, the second base portion, and the base portion connecting portion are integrally formed by casting, the rigidity of the first base portion and the second base portion is more reliably increased. be able to. Thereby, plastic deformation of the shell body connected to the first base portion and the second base portion can be more reliably suppressed, and durability can be ensured. In addition, since the plastic deformation of the shell body can be suppressed, it is possible to suppress a decrease in performance during the operation of the turbocharger due to the deformation of the shell body. As a result, the durability can be ensured while maintaining the operating performance more reliably.
In the turbocharger according to the present invention, the nozzle vane is disposed at a position facing the first base portion, and the first base portion is disposed at a position facing the nozzle vane in the first base portion. A heat-resistant part made of a material having higher heat resistance than that of the material forming the film is provided.
In this invention, the heat-resistant part is provided in the position which opposes the nozzle vane in a 1st base part. That is, the nozzle vane may rotate while being in contact with the first base portion. For this reason, the temperature of the portion of the first base portion that faces the nozzle vane tends to be high. Therefore, by providing a heat-resistant portion made of a material having higher heat resistance than the material forming the first base portion in this portion, the heat resistance of this portion can be ensured and the durability can be ensured. Further, by providing a heat-resistant part at a position facing the nozzle vane in the first base part, that is, by providing a member made of a material suitable for the strength in a part requiring strength, the first base part or the second base part. The other part can be formed of a material different from that of the heat-resistant part. For example, a material that is less expensive than the heat resistant portion can be used for a portion other than the heat resistant portion in the first base portion or the second base portion. Thereby, the manufacturing cost can be reduced. As a result, the durability can be more reliably ensured and the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
The turbocharger according to the present invention has an effect that it is possible to satisfy the suppression of the temperature decrease of the exhaust gas and the securing of the durability while maintaining the operation performance.

The
A
As described above, the
When the
Further, when the
Further, since the mounting
Thus, in a state where the
Further, the
The base
The turbocharger 1 according to this embodiment is configured as described above, and the operation thereof will be described below. During operation of the internal combustion engine, the exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine flows into the
The exhaust gas flowing while swirling through the
The
The opening / closing
Thus, by adjusting the inclination angle of the
The exhaust gas that has rotated the
Thus, during operation of the internal combustion engine, exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine flows to the
Accordingly, the
Further, the
Moreover, although the
In the turbocharger 1 described above, the
Further, the
The
In addition, since the
That is, when the
Further, the heat-
Further, by providing the heat-
Further, since the gap between the
In the turbocharger 1 described above, three each of the base
In the turbocharger 1 described above, the
As described above, the turbocharger according to the present invention is useful for a turbocharger having nozzle vanes, and is particularly suitable when a catalyst is provided on the downstream side of the turbocharger.
