【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、著作物の複写システム、画像形成装置、画像形成方法、およびその方法をコンピュータが実行するためのプログラムに関し、より詳細には、画像形成装置で、サーバから配信されるデジタル化された著作物を印刷する著作物の複写システム、画像形成装置、画像形成方法、およびその方法をコンピュータが実行するためのプログラムに関する。

【従来の技術】
近年、たとえば音楽のデジタル配信や電子書籍の販売に代表されるように、著作物のデジタルコンテンツ化が進んでいる。デジタル化された著作物は、ネットワークを介して送受信が行われており、この著作物の違法コピー防止の要求が高くなっている。他方、著作権者にとっては、著作物をより多くの人に配布し、多くの著作権料を徴収することが重要であり、著作物の利用の把握とその効率的な配布方法に関心が高い。また、利用者は容易に著作物を取得することを希望している。

従来、複写機やコンピュータと連動したプリンティングシステムのような複写システムにおいては、紙面上の著作物の違法コピーを防止するために、複写の対象となる印刷用紙に著作物であることを認識できる暗号やマークを識別画像として埋め込み、これら識別画像を複写が行われるプロセス中で検出した場合に、複写を禁止するなどの方法が採られていた。

例えば、違法コピーを防止する技術として、特開２０００−１６５６６８号公報の画像処理装置が開示されている。同公報の画像処理装置では、ユーザ側の端末装置から画像データが送信され、画像データを出力装置で印刷する際に、送信された画像中に著作権物情報が存在するか否かを判断し、この判断結果により印刷の禁止をする。そして、ユーザ側の端末からの暗証番号と画像中に存在する暗証番号とを比較し、両者が一致した場合に画像データの印刷禁止を解除している。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記従来技術では、著作物を配布し配布された著作物のコピー利用量を把握し、さらに著作権料を徴収することは容易ではないという問題がある。

上記目的を達成するために、本発明は、ネットワークを介して、互いにデータ通信可能に接続された画像形成装置およびサーバとで構築される著作物の複写システムにおいて、前記画像形成装置は、原稿を読み取り、読み取った原稿が、著作物取り出しシートであるか否かを判断する判断手段と、前記判断手段により著作物取り出しシートであると判断された場合に、当該著作物取り出しシートに印字されている著作物および当該著作物に対する操作内容を選択する選択手段と、当該著作物取り出しシートに印字されているバーコードから著作物を管理しているサーバを特定するための権利者情報および著作物を識別するための著作物情報を取得するバーコード情報取得手段と、前記選択手段で、前記サーバから著作物のダウンロードが必要な操作内容が選択された場合に、ユーザが著作物の使用を許諾するか否かを選択するための許諾画面を表示する許諾画面表示手段と、ユーザが前記許諾画面で著作物の使用を許諾した場合に、前記権利者情報で特定されるサーバに、前記選択手段で選択された著作物の著作物情報を送信して、著作物の送信を依頼する依頼手段と、前記依頼に応じて、前記権利者情報で特定されるサーバから送信されてくるデジタル化された著作物を印刷する印刷手段と、を含み、前記サーバは、前記画像形成装置から著作物の送信依頼を受けた場合に、受信した著作物情報に対応するデジタル化された著作物を検索して、前記画像形成装置に送信するものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面を参照して、本発明にかかる著作物の複写システム、画像形成装置、画像形成方法、およびその方法をコンピュータが実行するためのプログラムの好適な実施の形態を、（実施の形態１）、（実施の形態２）、（実施の形態３）を参照して説明する。

実施の形態１を、［実施の形態１の著作物の複写システム］、［複写機の構成］、［権利者サーバの構成］、［実施の形態１の著作物の複写システムの動作例］の順に詳細に説明する。なお、本発明における画像形成装置とは、少なくとも、スキャナユニットとプリンタユニットを有する装置をいい、本実施の形態では、画像形成装置として複写機を例に挙げて説明する。例えば、パーソナルコンピュータに、スキャナユニットとプリンタユニットを接続したシステムは、本発明の画像形成装置に含まれる。

図１は、実施の形態１にかかる著作物の複写システムの構築例を示す図である。同図において、１は、コンビニエンスストアなどの店舗を示しており、この店舗には、複写機１１、複写機１２、コンピュータの店舗端末１３が設けられており、互いに、ＬＡＮなどの通信手段によって相互利用可能に接続されている。なお、以下、これら店舗におかれる機器群を「店舗機器」と称する。

２は、著作権を管理する権利業者であり、権利者サーバ２１、２２、２３を備えている。権利者サーバ２１、２２、２３は、著作物認識コード（ＩＤ：著作物識別情報）に対応させてデジタル化された著作物を保存している。権利者サーバ２１、２２、２３は、著作権業界単位で管理する場合や複数の著作権（たとえば音楽と書籍）に関する著作物などを集約して設置する場合等がある。店舗１内の各装置１１〜１３と権利者サーバ２１〜２３は、互いに、ネットワークを介してデータ通信可能となっている。

上記構成の著作物の複写システムでは、店舗１内の各装置１１〜１３は、著作権読み取りシート（図４参照）を利用し、権利者サーバ２１〜２３にアクセスして、デジタル化された著作物（デジタルコンテンツ）をダウンロードして印刷等を行う。以下の説明では、店舗機器として複写機１１、１２を中心に説明する。

図１の複写機１１と複写機１２の構成について説明する。図１の複写機１１と複写機１２は同一のハードウエア構成となっているので、ここでは便宜上、複写機１１について説明する。図２は、図１の複写機１１のシステム構成を示すブロック図である。複写機１１は、制御部１０１、スキャナユニット１０２、ＤＲＡＭ１０３、操作部１０５、表示部１０６、通信制御部１０７、プリンタユニット１０８、フロッピーディスクドライブ１０９とを備えている。各部はバスを介して互いに接続されており、このバスを介して、コマンドや画像データの転送が行われる。

スキャナユニット１０２は、光源を原稿に照射し、その反射光を固体撮像素子（ＣＣＤ）で画像データに変換し、シエーディング補正やＭＴＦ補正等をおこなった後、ＤＲＡＭ１０３に書き込む。

制御部１０１は、特異動作モードでは、著作物取り出しシートに記入された選択内容（著作物およびその操作内容）を検出し、著作権に抵触する操作内容（著作物のダウンロードが必要な操作内容）が選択された場合には、使用者に許諾を得るための許諾画面を表示し、使用者の許諾が得られた場合には、著作物取り出しシートのバーコードから権利元のサーバのＵＲＩ（権利者情報）や著作物識別コード（ＩＤ：著作物情報）を取得し、権利者情報で特定される権利者サーバに、利用者の情報と選択された著作物の著作物認識コードを送信し、権利者サーバから著作物識別コード（ＩＤ：著作物情報）に対応するデジタル化された著作物（デジタルコンテンツ）をダウンロードして印刷等を行う。

ＤＲＡＭ１０３は、スキャナユニット１０２で読み取られた画像データや、通信制御部１０７を介して受信したデータを一時的に格納する。操作部１０５は、ユーザが複写機に動作指示を与えるための各種ボタンを供えている。表示部１０６は、必要な情報や画像データを表示する。プリンタユニット１０８は、レーザー光学系やプリンタエンジンを備え、画像データを電子写真方式で記録紙に印刷する。通信制御部１０７は、外部とのデータ通信を制御する。

つぎに、図１の著作物の複写システムの動作例を図４〜図８を参照して説明する。図４は、実施の形態１の著作物取り出しシートの一例を示している。同図は、ＣＤの歌詞カードを取り扱う著作物取り出しシートを示している。なお、著作物取り出しシートとしては、ＣＤ歌詞カードに限定されず、一般的な著作物を扱うものであれば如何なるものでも良い。例えば、書籍・図面・楽譜・ブロマイド・音楽・絵画・論文・ソフトウエアなどに適用することができる。

操作選択用記入欄▲３▼は、著作物に対する操作内容を選択するためのものであり、図４に示す例では、操作内容として、”このプリンタで印刷（カラー）［選択した著作物のデジタルコンテンツをダウンロードしてカラー印刷するという意味である］”、”隣のプリンタで印刷（モノクロ）［選択した著作物のデジタルコンテンツをダウンロードしてモノクロ印刷するという意味である］”、”ファイルとしてダウンロード［選択した著作物のデジタルコンテンツをダウンロードしてファイルとしてフロッピーに保存するという意味である］”、”このシートをダウンロード［この著作物取り出しシートをダウンロードしてフロッピーディスクに保存という意味である］”、”このシートの複製印刷［原稿の著作物取り出しシートを複写するという意味である］”が選択できるようになっている。

著作物のコンテンツ情報▲２▼には、図４に示すように、著作物に関する情報（著者や構成要素）などが記載されている。なお、著作物のコンテンツ情報▲２▼には、著作者が無料で複写許可する著作物の一部を記載することにしても良い。なお、著作物選択用記入欄▲４▼は、著作物取り出しシートに１つの著作物情報しか存在しない場合には印刷されない。

なお、図４に示す著作物取り出しシートでは、複数の著作物を扱っているが、１つの著作物を扱うことにしても良い。以下の説明では、図４の著作物取り出しシートを使用して、複写機１１で著作物の印刷を行う場合を説明する。図６は、図１の著作物の複写システムの動作例を説明するためのフローチャートである。
