Description
The present invention relates to a catalyst carrier for exhaust gas purification. That is, the present invention relates to a catalyst carrier that removes and purifies harmful substances in exhaust gas.
《Technical background》
For example, the exhaust gas of an automobile engine contains carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and other harmful substances, and is harmful if discharged to the outside air as it is.
Therefore, an exhaust gas purification device that removes harmful substances in the exhaust gas is interposed in the exhaust pipe of the engine. As this type of exhaust gas purifying apparatus, a catalyst carrier having a honeycomb structure and a catalyst substance attached thereto is typically used.

By the way, the following problems have been pointed out with respect to such a conventional example.
<First problem>
First, the
Thus, many exhaust gases A have been pointed out that the contained harmful substances pass through without contacting the catalytic substance, the catalyst efficiency is poor, and the degree of purification of the harmful substances is low.
Secondly, therefore, various measures have been taken for the
First, it has been attempted to further reduce the diameter of each
However, the pressure loss increases as the diameter is reduced, causing a problem that, for example, a load and an adverse effect are exerted on the upstream engine and the output is reduced.
In addition, it has been attempted to divide the
However, there has been a problem that the multiple division installation of the
Furthermore, it has been attempted to perform hole processing or uneven scoop processing on the
However, even if the hole is drilled, only the exhaust gas A corresponding to the static pressure moves, and the desired effect cannot be obtained. In addition, a special jig for drilling is required, and it is not easy to drill holes in the
The uneven scoop processing has a problem that the pressure loss increases by the amount of the uneven scoop. Further, a special jig for scooping is required, and scooping to the

<About the action>
Since the present invention comprises such means, the following is achieved.
(1) Exhaust gas containing harmful substances is supplied to the catalyst carrier.
(2) The honeycomb structure of the catalyst carrier has a corrugated plate and a flat plate wound around a multilayer roll to form a large number of cell spaces and to which a catalytic substance is adhered.
(3) Therefore, when the exhaust gas passes through the honeycomb structure, the harmful substance is contacted with, reacted with, and removed from the catalyst substance to be purified.
(4) Now, in this catalyst carrier, corrugated plates having different wave phases partially before and after in the axial direction are employed.
(5) The phase shift portion of the corrugated plate is cut with the cutting space plane before and after the foil material of the portion is in the axial direction.
(6) The exhaust gas passes through each cell space of such a honeycomb structure as a laminar flow, but the following occurs due to the phase shift. First, the exhaust gas that has passed through the center of the cell space on the upstream side and one side passes through the outer peripheral side of the cell space on the downstream side and the other side, and contacts the catalytic substance.
(7) On the other hand, the exhaust gas that has passed through the outer peripheral side of the cell space on the upstream side / one side passes through the center of the cell space on the downstream side / other side.
(8) In this way, most of the exhaust gas comes into contact with the catalyst material.
(9) Moreover, the exhaust gas passes through in a laminar flow, and is agitated and turbulent to prevent an increase in pressure loss.
(10) The catalyst carrier has a simple configuration employing a corrugated plate having a phase shift portion, and the corrugated plate is entirely composed of a single plate, which is easy to mold and wind. (11) Now, the exhaust gas purifying catalyst carrier of the present invention exhibits the following effects.
<< First effect >>
First, the catalyst efficiency is improved. That is, the exhaust gas purification catalyst carrier of the present invention employs corrugated plates having partially different wave phases.
Therefore, the exhaust gas that passes through the honeycomb structure in a laminar flow is the exhaust gas that has passed through the center of each cell space on one side and upstream side, It passes through each cell space on the downstream side in contact with the catalyst substance.
As in the above-described conventional example, the amount of exhaust gas that passes through without contacting with the catalyst substance is extremely small. The harmful substances in the exhaust gas uniformly and uniformly contact with the catalyst substance, and react with the catalyst substance evenly and sufficiently evenly as a whole. Therefore, according to the present invention, the catalyst efficiency is improved and the purification performance of harmful substances is excellent.
<< Second effect >>
Second, there is no increase in pressure loss. That is, in the exhaust gas purifying catalyst carrier of the present invention, the exhaust gas passes through each cell space of the honeycomb structure in a laminar flow, thereby exhibiting the first effect described above.
Like this type of conventional example described above, cell space diameter reduction, hole processing, uneven scoop processing, etc. do not cause an increase in pressure loss. The catalyst efficiency can be improved without inviting.
《Third effect》
Third, there is little increase in cost. That is, the catalyst carrier for purifying exhaust gas according to the present invention exhibits the first effect described above by adopting corrugated plates having partially different wave phases.
Like this type of conventional example described above, the structure is particularly complicated, such as the honeycomb structure being divided into a plurality of parts, the use of a special jig, troublesome drilling, troublesome drilling and uneven scooping, etc. However, the catalyst efficiency can be improved easily with a simple configuration while being excellent in workability and cost.
In addition, the corrugated sheet has only a portion of misalignment, and the entire corrugated sheet is composed of a single corrugated sheet. Therefore, the corrugated sheet can be smoothly formed and wound, resulting in difficulties in workability and cost. There is nothing.
As described above, the effects exerted by the present invention are remarkably large, such as all the problems existing in this type of conventional example are solved.

Therefore, a

《Action etc.》
The
(1) Exhaust gas A from the engine or the like contains harmful substances and is supplied to the exhaust gas A
(2) The
(3) The exhaust gas A flows into each
At that time, the contained harmful substances are removed and detoxified by contacting with the catalytic substances of the cell walls forming the
(4) Now, in the
This
(5) The phase shift portion 15 of the
(6) The exhaust gas A passes through each
First, in each
That is, the phase is different from the upstream side due to the phase difference, and the downstream cell wall, ie, the
(7) On the other hand, the exhaust gas A that has passed through the outer peripheral side of each
(8) In this way, most of the exhaust gas A comes into contact with the catalyst substance and passes through each
(9) Moreover, in the
(10) The
