Description

The present invention relates to a film-like or sheet-like surface light emitter incorporating an LED light source and an internally illuminated signboard using the surface light emitter.

Outdoor signboards are becoming larger due to the increased size, higher definition, and lower cost of inkjets. In large internally illuminated signboards, the number of fluorescent lamps has greatly increased, and power consumption tends to increase further. This is a major problem not only in Japan but also in modern society where energy reduction is a global issue.

For example, the following Patent Document 1 proposes an idea to deal with this problem by using an LED with low power consumption instead of a conventional fluorescent lamp. However, an LED is a point light emission, and it is necessary to use an acrylic light guide plate or the like to convert it into a surface light emission. However, this leads to an increase in cost and weight, and it is difficult to put it into practical use in a large area.

An invention in which a plurality of LEDs are arranged together with electric wirings on a film or plate substrate to form a light emitter is also known from Patent Document 2 below. However, the number of LEDs used in the embodiments of the present invention is 2 to 5, and the usage is also "various articles used for ensuring the safety of workers or actors at night, for example, night identification in road construction. Blinker for nighttime; Nighttime boundary identification sign at gas station; Nighttime self-identification sign worn on work clothes such as vests worn by automobiles, bicycles, traffic controllers, helmets, shoes, dog collars, stairs, etc. " (See the same publication [0001]), and large signboards are not considered at all.

Although the above Patent Document 2 has a structure that is relatively close to that of the present invention, it was considered that the large surface light emitter could not be obtained because the following conditions for establishing the present invention were not noticed. The condition is that uniform brightness can be obtained by arranging wide-angle light emitting LED chips at equal intervals in the vertical and horizontal directions and adjusting the distance between the light emitting surface and the signboard image surface according to the intervals.

The present invention is based on this finding, and an object of the present invention is to provide a film-like or sheet-like surface light emitter incorporating an LED light source and an internally illuminated signboard using the surface light emitter.

Or on the sheet-like substrate, electrical wiring so that 30-300 wide-angle light-emitting LED chips with a light emission angle of 60 ° -120 ° are evenly arranged in the range of 10 mm- 60 mm both vertically and horizontally In addition , it is covered with a transparent plastic film so as to be in close contact with the outer shape of the LED chip so as not to generate a gap, and the distance between the signboard surface and the surface light emitter is about 15 mm to 70 mm. It is characterized by that.

The internally illuminated signboard of the present invention is one in which the surface light emitter is installed in a box having at least a signboard surface, a side plate, and a back plate, and the distance between the signboard image surface and the surface light emitter is about 15 mm to It is 70 mm.

The surface light emitter of the present invention is in the form of a film or sheet, is thin, light, has a long life, and can greatly reduce the materials required for installation. By connecting the surface light emitters vertically and horizontally, a large-area light emitter can be easily made. If this large-area light emitter is used, energy saving and a large signboard can be provided at low cost.

However, plastic is preferred from the standpoint of ease of handling, workability, and the like. Among plastics, polyester, polyimide, vinyl chloride, epoxy resin, etc., which are excellent in heat resistance, light resistance, mechanical strength and the like are preferable.

On the substrate used in the present invention, it is preferable to provide an adhesive layer and a release material layer in this order on the surface opposite to the surface to be electrically wired (the surface facing the object to be mounted). By comprising in this way, a surface light-emitting body can be easily affixed on a to-be-mounted surface, without using a special tool. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is not particularly limited, and general-purpose pressure-sensitive adhesives such as acrylic, silicone-based, and synthetic rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesives can be appropriately used according to the materials of various articles that are mounted and used. There is no restriction | limiting in particular also about a peeling material layer, A general purpose thing can be used.

The electrical wiring used in the present invention is electrically connected to a power source and an LED light source, which will be described later, on the film-like or sheet-like substrate so that the LED light source can be blinked by a signal from the power source unit. Provided.

There is no particular limitation on the method for forming the electrical wiring on the film or sheet substrate. For example,
1) Adhere a strip of metal foil on one side of the double-sided adhesive tape or the adhesive surface of the adhesive tape.
2) Affixing a strip of metal foil with adhesive on a film or sheet substrate,

The LED light source used in the present invention is a wide-angle light emitting LED chip, and the light emission angle is preferably 60 ° to 120 °, and the shape is preferably a planar round or square LED. At least 30 LED light sources are required for producing a large signboard. Preferably, one unit is 30 to 300, and a plurality of units are used as necessary. If a plurality of LED light sources are unitized in this way, wiring and mounting can be simplified, which is preferable.

In this invention, it is preferable that the space | interval which arrange | positions LED is made into a uniform space | interval in the range of 10 mm-60 mm both vertically and horizontally. The distance between the outermost LED and the edge of the surface light emitter is preferably half the distance between the LEDs.

In the present invention, as a method of connecting the LED to the electrical wiring on the film-like or sheet-like substrate,
1) A method of fixing the contact point between the LED lead wire and the metal foil with solder,
2) A method of fixing the contact between the LED lead wire and the metal foil so as to cover the whole so as to protect the contact with an adhesive,
3) A method of fixing the contact point between the LED lead wire and the metal foil by sealing with an adhesive tape can be exemplified.

As the power source used in the present invention, an external AC or DC power source is usually used, but a battery can also be used.

In order to enhance the overall waterproofness of the film-like or sheet-like surface light emitter of the present invention and enhance the protection from external force and sunlight, as a waterproof mechanism of the entire device, a film-like or sheet-like substrate, electrical wiring, etc. Is covered with a plastic sheet. The material of the covering material is not particularly limited as long as it has high mechanical strength, excellent weather resistance (water resistance, heat resistance, light resistance, etc.), and good workability. For example, polystyrene, polyester, chloride Examples thereof include vinyl and ABS. The covering is preferably performed in close contact with the outer shape of the LED so that a gap is not generated as much as possible.

This surface light emitter is attached to a back plate inside a box-shaped signboard having a signboard surface on the outer surface. At this time, it is convenient to peel off the release material layer to expose the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer and to apply it directly to the internal back plate. Considering that box-shaped signboards are often made of metal such as an aluminum plate, the fact that a surface light emitter can be directly attached to a metal back plate has the effect of releasing heat generated by the surface light emitter.

The present invention is characterized in that the distance between the surface light emitter and the signboard image surface is separated according to the LED installation interval. When the LED installation interval is about 10 mm, the distance between the surface light emitter and the signboard image surface is about 10 mm, and when the LED installation interval is about 60 mm, the distance between the surface light emitter and the signboard image surface is about 70 mm. This is preferable because the diverging light becomes uniform.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a front view of a surface light emitter 10 of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view. The size of this surface light emitter is 45 cm × 45 cm = 0.2 m 2 .

The LED 11 (E1S42-AW0C6-03 manufactured by Toyoda Gosei) is a wide-angle light-emitting LED chip. In the embodiment of FIG. 1, 30 LEDs are used, and each is connected by a printed wiring 13. The distance between the LEDs is 35 mm both vertically and horizontally. The power source is obtained from an external power source (not shown) through the lead wire 14. In this embodiment, a resistor 15 is also provided so that an excessive current does not flow. A low current semiconductor element may be provided for the same purpose.

As shown in the cross-sectional view of FIG. 2, the LEDs 11 are arranged together with a printed wiring 13 on a substrate 12 made of 100 μ polyester resin. The LED 11 and the printed wiring 13 are thermally laminated by a plastic sheet 16. Since the plastic sheet is laminated so as to conform to the outer shape of the LED, no gap is generated. Note that the drawings conceptually depict each component and its relationship, and are not necessarily a replica of the actual product.

An adhesive layer 17 and a release material layer 18 are provided in this order on the surface opposite to the LED 11 and the printed wiring 13 (the surface facing the object to be mounted).

The surface light emitter 10 has water resistance and moisture resistance, and is strong against vibration and strong against external obstacles. In addition, it is hard to get dirt and can be removed immediately even if it gets dirty. Furthermore, since it is thin and soft, for example, it can be used by being cut along the one-dot chain line (XX, YY) in FIG.

FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of an internally illuminated signboard (signboard) 20 using the surface light emitter 10 of Example 1 as a light source. The signboard 20 is obtained by installing the surface light emitter 10 in a box having a signboard surface 21, a side plate 22, and a backplate 23. The distance between the signboard surface 21 and the surface light emitter 10 is about 30 mm. The surface light emitter 10 is peeled off the release material layer 18 and attached to the back plate 23 of the signboard.

The signboard surface 21 is preferably a fiber sheet in which both surfaces are integrated with a translucent resin layer on a substrate made of strong fiber. The fiber sheet used in this example is Y-140 of “Lumijet W” (trademark) manufactured by ICC Corporation, and the light transmittance is 30%.

L=R/1.4142
H=1/2R
から
L=2H/1.4142
又は
H=1.4142L/2
Although the applicant does not want to be bound by theory, it seems to be the most likely theory at the present time as a theory showing the relationship between the LED spacing (L) and the distance between the LED and the signboard surface 21 (H). Is the following: As shown in FIG. 4, the light emitted from the LED chip spreads most at the maximum point, and this height is preferably H. The plane circle at H is shown in FIG. Assuming that the diameter of this circle is R, one side of the square abutting on the circle is equal to the arrangement interval L between the LEDs. This is because, as can be seen from FIG. 6, the LEDs are arranged in a maximum plane circle efficiently because the arrangement interval between the LEDs is L. Therefore, if the square root of 2 is calculated as 1.4142,
L = R / 1.4142
H = 1 / 2R
To L = 2H / 1.4142
Or H = 1.4142L / 2
This relationship is derived.

According to this formula, the arrangement interval (L) between the LEDs and the distance (H) between the LED and the signboard surface are calculated as shown in Table 1, for example.

Actually, this is not necessarily true for various reasons, but it seems to be a guide.

As shown in FIG. 7, the surface light-emitting body 10 joined to a plurality (two the circumstances in drawing in this case), on its, by using a large signboard boxes, large up 50 m 2 ~300M 2 Internal lighting signs can be made easily and at low cost.

Here, the distance between the outermost LED and the edge should be 2 / L so that the LEDs of the adjacent surface light emitters 10 are arranged at a constant interval.

The signboard 20 of the second and third embodiments of the present invention is thin and lightweight. In addition, since the LED is energy saving and has a long life (durable for 50,000 hours), the effort for replacing the light bulb can be reduced.

For example, in terms of energy, a signboard with a size of 2.7 m × 3.6 m = about 10 m 2 has conventionally used 42 40 W fluorescent lamps, so it was 1680 W / h. Forty-eight film-like LEDs are used, which is 691 W / h. The energy saving amount is 1680-691 = 989 W / h, which is a reduction of 59%.
