Description

【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a coating apparatus for applying a coating liquid to a substrate, and more particularly to a coating method for a coating apparatus that can reliably apply a coating liquid with high wear resistance and a relatively low viscosity to a substrate. .
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a coating apparatus that includes a gravure plate cylinder to which a coating liquid is supplied and an impression cylinder that presses a substrate against the gravure plate cylinder is known. When the substrate is supplied between the gravure plate cylinder and the impression cylinder, the coating liquid supplied onto the gravure plate cylinder is applied to the substrate side.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In a coating apparatus having a gravure plate cylinder as described above, if a coating solution with high wear resistance and relatively low viscosity is used, the plate of the gravure plate cylinder is worn and the capacity of the gravure cell is reduced. The amount of liquid may be insufficient. For example, with a titanium oxide-alcohol-based ink, the gravure cell capacity is reduced by 20 to 30% after about 10 hours of operation. When it is desired to change the film thickness of the coating liquid according to the product item, it is necessary to prepare a gravure plate cylinder according to the film thickness of the coating liquid.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in consideration of such points, and can be applied to a substrate with high accuracy even with a coating solution having high wear resistance and a relatively low viscosity, and can withstand long-term use. Another object of the present invention is to provide a coating apparatus that can change the plate cylinder for each product item.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention includes a smooth cylinder having a smooth surface and a coating liquid supplied thereto, a pressure cylinder that presses a substrate against the smooth cylinder and applies the coating liquid to form a coating film, A doctor device that scrapes the coating liquid, and the doctor device has a plurality of scraping plates extending to the smooth cylinder side and forming a groove between them, and the doctor device main body to the smooth cylinder side. It is a coating apparatus characterized by having a slide plate which is provided so as to be freely advanced and retracted and adjusts the height of the groove between the scraping plates.
[0006]
According to the present invention, the base material is supplied between the plate cylinder and the impression cylinder, and the coating liquid is supplied onto the smooth cylinder. The coating liquid on the smooth cylinder is scraped off by a plurality of scraping plates of the doctor apparatus main body, and the coating liquid that has passed through the grooves between the scraping plates remains on the smooth cylinder in a streak shape. Thereafter, the coating liquids on the smooth cylinder merge and the film thickness is adjusted. The coating liquid on the smooth cylinder is applied to the substrate side. Moreover, the film thickness of the coating liquid on a base material can be adjusted by adjusting the height of the groove part between scraping plates with a slide plate.
[0007]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
[0008]
1 and 2 are diagrams showing an embodiment of a coating apparatus according to the present invention.
[0009]
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the coating apparatus 10 includes a smooth cylinder 11 having a smooth surface, an impression cylinder 12 that applies a coating liquid by pressing a base material 15 against the smooth cylinder 11, and And a doctor device 20 that scrapes the coating liquid 18 on the smooth cylinder 11.
[0010]
An ink supply roll 13 that supplies the coating liquid 18 to the smooth cylinder 11 side is disposed below the smooth cylinder 11. As the coating liquid supplied from the ink supply roll 13, for example, a coating liquid having high wear resistance and a relatively low viscosity, such as a titanium oxide-alcohol-based coating liquid, can be considered.
[0011]
Further, as shown in FIG. 2, the doctor device 20 includes a doctor device body 20a having a plurality of scraping plates 21 extending in a comb-teeth shape on the smooth cylinder 11 side, and a downstream of the smooth cylinder 11 in the rotation direction of the doctor apparatus body 20a. The slide plate 22 is provided at the side end portion so as to be movable forward and backward toward the smooth cylinder side. That is, the doctor apparatus main body 20 a having a plurality of scraping plates 21 has groove portions 23 formed between the scraping plates 21, the coating liquid 18 is scraped by the scraping plates 21, and the coating liquid is discharged by the groove portions 23. 18 is passed. The height of the groove 23 is adjusted by moving the slide plate 23 back and forth. . The doctor device main body 20 a can reciprocate along the axial direction of the smoothing cylinder 11.
[0012]
Next, the operation of the present embodiment having such a configuration will be described.
[0013]
First, the base material (for example, film) 15 is supplied between the smooth cylinder 11 and the impression cylinder 12, and at the same time, the coating liquid 18 is supplied from the ink supply roll 13 to the smooth cylinder 11.
[0014]
Next, the coating liquid 18 on the smooth cylinder 11 is scraped off by the scraping plate 21 of the doctor device 20. For this reason, only the coating liquid 18 that has passed through the groove 23 between the scraping plates 21 remains on the smooth cylinder 11 in a streak shape.
[0015]
Thereafter, the stripe-shaped coating liquid 18 on the smooth cylinder 11 joins each other, and after the film thickness is made uniform, it is applied to the substrate 15 to form the coating film 16. During this time, by reciprocating the doctor device main body 20a of the doctor device 20 along the axial direction of the smoothing cylinder 11, the film thickness of the coating liquid 18 on the smoothing cylinder 11 can be made uniform more quickly.
[0016]
When the coating apparatus 10 is used for a long time, the tip of the scraping plate 21 is worn by the coating liquid 18, and the amount of the coating liquid 18 on the smooth cylinder 11 changes, whereby the coating film 16 on the substrate 15 is changed. It is conceivable that the film thickness also changes.
[0017]
In this case, the height of the groove 23 can be kept constant by retracting the slide plate 22 from the smooth cylinder 11, whereby the amount of the coating liquid 18 on the smooth cylinder 11 can be kept constant. For this reason, the film thickness of the coating film 16 of the base material 15 can be kept constant.
[0018]
As described above, according to the present embodiment, the film thickness of the coating film 16 on the substrate 15 can be kept constant. Further, the scraping plate 21 is worn by use. In this case, the amount of the coating liquid 18 on the smooth cylinder 11 is made constant by moving the slide plate 22 forward and backward to keep the height of the groove 23 constant. Can do. Moreover, since the abrasion of the smooth cylinder 11 can be suppressed, the burden on the smooth cylinder 11 can be reduced.
[0019]
Further, when changing the item of the product, it is possible to cope with the change of the item only by adjusting the length of the scraping plate 21 of the doctor device 20 without changing the smoothing cylinder 11.
[0020]
Furthermore, since the conversion frequency of the smooth cylinder 11 can be suppressed, the cleaning work accompanying the conversion can also be reduced.
[0021]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to adjust the film thickness of the coating liquid on the smooth cylinder by scraping the coating liquid supplied onto the smooth cylinder with the scraping plate of the doctor device. Moreover, the film thickness of the coating liquid on a base material can be maintained constant by adjusting the height of the groove part between scraping plates with a slide plate. Furthermore, since a smooth cylinder is used instead of the gravure plate cylinder, it is not necessary to convert the gravure plate cylinder due to wear, and workability is improved.
