(1)動画像を受信し、受信した動画像の最新部分を記憶する動画バッファと、動画バッファ中の選択した静止画を記憶する静止画バッファと、静止画データを保存可能な静止画メモリーと、受信中の動画像又は選択した静止画を表示する表示部とを備え、動画像を受信し表示中に、記憶スイッチ操作によってその時の画像データを静止画データとして前記静止画バッファに取り込むと共に、前記静止画データの前後の動画像を前記動画バッファに記憶するように所定時間動画像データのバッファリングを行い、記録スイッチ操作によって前記静止画バッファに取り込まれた静止画データを前記静止画メモリーに記録保存し、前記記憶スイッチ操作を行った前後の前記動画バッファの動画像データのうち、画像選択操作によって静止画を選択し、該選択した静止画を表示または再表示する通信端末装置において、前記記録スイッチ操作および前記記憶スイッチ操作で押し込まれるスイッチが設けられおり、前記スイッチを左右に動かすことで前記画像選択操作がなされる。
(2)前記スイッチを2段階に押し込むことのできるスイッチとし、1段階押込まれた時に動画像を静止画バッファに記憶する記憶スイッチと2段階押し込まれたときに前記静止画バッファの画像データを静止画メモリーに記録保存する記録スイッチとして機能する。
(3)前記記憶スイッチ又は記録スイッチを操作後、スイッチを解放した場合には動画像表示状態に戻る。
(4)静止画像を記録する際の静止画メモリー領域を、現在接続中の通信相手についての情報が保存されているメモリ領域と関連付けをする。
上記のように構成し、受信中の動画像データの内の意図した静止画データを静止画メモリーに保存可能とするものである。
