Description
ネジ山形成工具を自軸周りに回転させながら該工具の直径よりも大きな直径の開口部の中へ導入する。該開口部の内周に沿った回転ごとに所定の割合で前記工具を該開口部の中に移動させながら、円運動は、開口部の内周に沿って行われる。こうして、開口部の内壁を塑性変形させることにより、所定のピッチのネジ山を形成する。
Claims (5)
- ネジ山形成工具において、第一の端部(6)に接続部(8)と、第二の端部(10)にネジ山形成部(12)とを有する長くしたボデー(4)を含み、前記ネジ山形成部(12)は前記ボデーの周囲に少なくとも1つの環状の山(14)を含み、前記環状の山(14)が螺旋状ではなく、前記長くしたボデーの軸方向に対して垂直であり、前記山の中心での前記ボデーの横断面は、少なくとも3つのローブ(lobe)(18)を有する非円形形状とし、前記工具を自軸周りに回転させながら該ボデーの直径よりも大きな直径の開口部の中へ導入し、該開口部の内周に沿った回転ごとに所定の割合で該工具を該開口部の中に移動させながら該開口部の内周に沿った円運動を行うことにより、少なくとも3つのローブ(lobe)(18)を有する前記非円形形状の環状の山(14)が、前記開口部の内壁に、塑性変形で所定のピッチネジ山を形成することを特徴とするネジ山形成工具。
- 前記環状の山(14)を、冷却液の供給を可能とする少なくとも1つのみぞ(flute)(20)を画成する少なくとも1つのフランク(flank)(22)に設け、前記みぞ(20)は前記山(14)を不連続な山とする請求項1に記載のネジ山形成工具。
- 複数の平行な環状の山(14)を設け、前記環状の山は環状溝(16)によって分割される、請求項1または2に記載のネジ山形成工具。
- ソリッドカーバイド材(solid carbide material)から作られる、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のネジ山形成工具。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載のネジ山形成工具を、該工具を自軸周りに回転させながら該工具の直径よりも大きな直径の開口部の中へ導入し、該開口部の内周に沿った回転ごとに所定の割合で該工具を該開口部の中に移動させながら該開口部の内周に沿った円運動を行い、これによって所定のピッチのネジ山を塑性変形で形成するネジ山形成方法。
