本発明は、薬液等の液体を収容する水密性容器に関するもので、特に病理組織検査用検体を収容したカセット(以下「検体カセット」と略称する)をアルコール漬け又はホルマリン漬けにして保管するのに有用な容器に関する。

従来のこの種の水密性容器は、その殆どがガラス製又はプラスチック製の容器本体の開口部にパッキンを介してプラスチック製又は金属製のキャップ形外蓋を冠着してなるものであった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、従来の水密性容器においては、必ずしも水密性が十分でないために、収容した検体カセット等を長期間保管できないという問題があった。
本発明は、従来の水密性容器を改良して、上記のような問題点を取り除くことを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、本発明の水密性容器は、容器本体の開口部に、シール用部材からなり、円形の天板の周縁に円筒部が形成されるとともに、天板の内側下面にJ字形の断面形状を有する二重円筒状のシール部が前記円筒部より下側に突出するように形成されている外蓋を着脱自在に冠着してなり、前記二重円筒状のシール部外周であって前記円筒部より突出している部分に弾性を有する環状のシールリップを少なくとも1個設け、該シール部を前記開口部内に挿入して前記シールリップを開口部内周に面接触せしめたことを特徴とするものである。

上記本発明においては、J字形の断面形状を有する二重円筒状のシール部を開口部内に挿入する際にシールリップが開口部内周に接触して上方に湾曲し、シールリップの先端部がその復元弾発力により開口部内周に押圧的に面接触する。これにより、容器内部は十分な水密性が確保される。したがって、容器内に収容した検体カセット等の収容物を長期間保管することができる。
