Description
広範な種類のグレードの紙及び板紙が存在し、基本重量をベースに2つの種類に分類することができる。即ち、単一プライで基本重量25−300g/m2の紙、及び、マルチプライ技術で製造される基本重量150−600g/m2の板紙である。尚、紙と板紙の分岐ラインは変動し、最も低い基本重量の板紙は、最も重い紙よりも軽い。通常的には、紙は印刷に用いられ、板紙は梱包(パッケージング)に用いられる。

種々の紙及び板紙の表面特性及び厚さプロフィールは、印刷方法及び更なる処理の要求を満たすためにカレンダリングにより処理される。塗工グレードは、典型的には、塗工処理前に事前カレンダ処理され、塗工処理後に最終のカレンダ処理を受ける。
塗工された紙グレード及び塗工がより有名になるにつれて、塗工プロセス及び装置は、増大する要求により挑戦を受ける。塗工手順において、より詳細には顔料塗工手順において、紙の表面は、塗工ヘッドで一層のコーティングカラーで形成され、その後、過剰な水の脱水が実行される。コーティングカラー層の形成は、最終の塗工量を調整する時だけでなく、紙の表面上へのコーティングカラーの供給時、即ち塗工時に分割されることができる。最も重要な顔料塗工方法は、いわゆるブレード塗工であり、ブレード塗工では、塗工量は、いわゆるドクターブレードにより調整される。最も一般的な種類の一般的なブレード塗工ヘッドは、アプリケータロールを備えるブレードコータ及びジェットアプリケータを備えるブレードコータを含む。塗工処理は、追加的に、いわゆるフィルム転写コータの使用を伴い、この使用は、最近、より一般的になっている。その他の新しい技術は、カーテンコータの使用を伴うものが提案されている。
本発明によれば、表面サイズされた紙/板紙の曲げ強度及び/又は嵩は、表面サイジングに、乾燥収縮作用を抑止若しくは制限して乾燥応力の増加をもたらすための処理プロセスを後続させることによって、改善できることが知見された。この現象は、スターチの乾燥収縮促進作用に基づくものであり、これにより、スターチの添加後の乾燥収縮の抑止は、乾燥応力の増加をもたらす。乾燥応力の増加は、湿式の歪付与(ウェットストレイニング:wet straining)と同様に繊維レベルで働き、即ち紙の厚さが増加する。湿式の歪付与の紙厚さ促進作用は、例えば、Niskanen,K.により編集され

Claims (2)
- 表面サイズされる紙/板紙の生成方法であって、
本方法で処理されるべきウェブは、スターチを含む表面サイジング剤による表面サイジング後に処理プロセスに通され、該処理プロセスは、所望の乾燥収縮及び/又は乾燥応力の増加を付与し、それにより、紙/板紙の曲げ強度及び/又は嵩に対する所望の作用を生成して、測定される曲げ強度の変化が、同一の繊維ウェブ厚さで算出される曲げ強度の変化よりも45%から95%小さく、繊維ウェブが、表面サイズされない繊維ウェブに比べて0.5%から10%厚さが増加するようにし、
前記処理プロセスは、ウェブの縁部に係合しウェブを伸ばす方向に該縁部をガイドする係合要素を備えるスプレッダロールにより実行される、方法。 - 前記係合要素は、真空穴を備える個別ベアリング搭載型ロール端部ピースを含み、該端部ピースは、前記真空穴によりウェブの縁部に係合し、前記ロール端部ピースは、前記ウェブの縁部を外側にガイドする角度位置に実装される、請求項1に記載の方法。
