ガスを発生する液体を収容するキャップ付き容器のガス抜き機構としては、通気性のゴアテックシートとスペーサーとスリットが形成されたポリプロピレンフィルム弁体との積層体が提案されている(特開平5−270559号公報)。このガス抜き機構は、ポリプロピレンフィルム弁体が内容物側となるようにキャップの頂部内面に設置され、一方、キャップの頂部にはガス抜き穴が形成される。

しかしながら、特開平5−270559号公報に記載されているガス抜き機構の場合、ガスの排出速度(約0.3ml(酸素)/day・cm2)が非常に遅いという問題がある。このため、このようなガス抜き機構を備えたキャップ付き容器で、比較的多量のガスが発生する2液タイプの染毛剤(約0.3ml(酸素)/分・cm2)を混合した場合、2液の混合直後にキャップを取り去って混合液を使用すれば問題がないが、何らかの理由でキャップを閉めたまま容器を放置した場合には、内圧が過度に高まって容器が変形し、更には容器が破裂することも懸念される。また、上述したようなスリットが形成されたポリプロピレン弁体では、0.2〜0.3MPaの内圧に耐えられず、容器が倒れなくても、発泡した内容物がゴアテックスシートにまで到達し、ゴアテックスシートの目詰まりなどの破損が生じ、その通気性が低下し、結果的に内圧が過度に高まってしまうという問題がある。更に、ガス抜き穴がキャップの頂部に存在するので、内容物が顔に向かって直接飛散するおそれがある。
