【発明の属する技術分野】
この発明は、カプセル内視鏡、詳しくは略カプセル形状のカバー部材からなる筐体内部に観察手段等が一体に組み込まれて構成されるカプセル内視鏡に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来より、例えば体腔内等の検査等を行なうのに際しては、先端に撮像素子等を備えた管状の挿入部と、この挿入部に連設される操作部及びこれに接続される画像処理装置・表示装置等の各種装置等からなり、挿入部を被検者の口腔等から体腔内へと挿入して体腔内における所望の部位を観察し得るように構成される内視鏡装置が実用化され広く普及している。このような従来の内視鏡装置においては、体腔内に挿入される挿入部の長さ等の制約があることから、観察や検査等を行ない得る範囲には制約がある。

そこで、近年においては、例えば錠剤カプセル形状の筐体の内部に撮影光学系及び撮像手段等又は超音波振動子等の観察手段や照明手段・通信手段・電源等を収納した小型の内視鏡、いわゆるカプセル内視鏡について、例えば特開2001−95755号公報等によって種々の提案がなされている。

このようなカプセル内視鏡は、従来の通常の内視鏡装置における管状挿入部を廃した構成となっており、このカプセル内視鏡を被検者が嚥下する等の手段によって体腔内へ挿入することで、体腔内の観察や検査等を行ない得るように構成されている。したがって、このような形態のカプセル内視鏡においては、従来の挿入部を有する内視鏡等によっては観察や検査等を行なうのが困難な部位、例えば小腸等の深部臓器等の観察や検査等をも比較的容易に行ない得るという利点がある。

また、上述の従来のカプセル内視鏡との間で無線通信を行なう通信手段及びこの通信手段により受信した所定の画像信号等を記録する記録手段等を備えた受信記録装置等や電力の供給を外部から無線送電によってカプセル内視鏡へと供給する電力供給装置等を備えて構成される内視鏡システムについても種々の提案がなされている。

上記特開2001−95755号公報によって開示されているカプセル内視鏡は、図7に示すように撮像素子123を含む各種電気回路基板100や電源電池101等を収納する電気要素保持筒113と、電気回路基板100に接続され電気要素保持筒113の外部に延出するように形成される帯状の送信手段としてのアンテナ基板140と、電気要素保持筒113の先端側に撮影光学系122を介して配設され外装部材の一部を構成する透明カバー117と、外装部材の他の一部を構成するカプセルカバー155等によって構成されている。

そして、アンテナ基板140は電気要素保持筒113の外周面上に巻回させて配置され、その状態でアンテナ基板140を覆うようにカプセルカバー155が配置されるようになっている。したがって、これによりアンテナ基板140は、電気要素保持筒113とカプセルカバー155との間の隙間の空間に効率良く収納されるというものである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、上記特開2001−95755号公報によって開示されているカプセル内視鏡においては、カプセルカバーの内側の空間にアンテナ基板(送信手段)を配置する構成であることから、そのための収納空間を確保する必要がある。上記公報による手段では、この収納空間として電気要素保持筒113とカプセルカバー155との間の隙間の空間を利用するようにしている。

したがって、このような部材配置を採用する上記公報による手段では、アンテナ基板140の配置空間を確保しなければならない分、これに伴ってカプセル内視鏡自体の外形寸法、特に直径方向の寸法が増大してしまう傾向がある。

一方、カプセル内視鏡自体の外形寸法を抑えつつアンテナ基板140の配置空間をカプセル内部に確保すると、当該カプセル内視鏡内部の限られた空間に、さらに付加的機能を実現するための構成部材を配置するには制約が生じる場合があるという問題点がある。

また、上記公報によるアンテナ基板140は例えばフレキシブルプリント基板等によって形成されるものであるので、これを介して行なわれる信号の送受信時の感度を向上させるのには限界があるという問題点がある。

さらに、上記公報によって開示されているカプセル内視鏡は、電源電池をそのカプセル内部に備えて構成されるタイプのものであって、電源を外部から給電することについては考慮されていない。

したがって、例えば上記公報による構成において、カプセル内部の電源電池を廃して、新たに受電手段を設け、これによって外部電源からの電力の供給を受け得るような構成とした場合には、その受電手段のための配置空間をカプセル内部に確保する必要がある。そのために、当該手段を用いて受電手段を備えるためにはカプセル自体をさらに大型化してしまうという問題点がある。

本発明は、上述した点に鑑みてなされたものであって、その目的とするところは、外部から電源を供給するために必要となる受電手段や、撮像手段(観察手段)等によって取得した画像信号等を当該カプセル内視鏡の外部へと送信したり当該カプセル内視鏡の駆動及び制御に関する外部からの制御信号等を受信するための通信手段等の配置を工夫して、カプセルの内部空間を有効に利用することで省空間化を実現しカプセル内視鏡自体の小型化に寄与すると共に、さらに各種信号の送受信や供給される電力の受電の際における送受信感度又は受電感度の向上にも寄与するように構成したカプセル内視鏡を提供することである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、第1の発明によるカプセル内視鏡は、被写体を照明する照明手段と、被写体像を結像させる機能を有する光学系と、被写体を表わす画像信号を取得する撮像手段と、この撮像手段を駆動制御する駆動制御回路と、上記撮像手段の出力信号を処理する信号処理回路と、外部から給電を受ける受電手段と、画像信号を外部に向けて送信する送信手段と、外装部を形成するカバー部材と、を少なくとも具備するカプセル内視鏡において、上記受電手段若しくは上記送信手段の少なくとも一方は、上記カバー部材の内面側の表面に形成され、上記受電手段若しくは上記送信手段の表面は絶縁されると共に、上記受電手段若しくは上記送信手段と上記カバー部材内部に配設される電気的構成部材とを電気的に接続する電気接点あるいは接続線は上記カバー部材によって水密化された上記カバー部材の内面側に露出して配置されていることを特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図示の実施の形態によって本発明を説明する。
図1は、本発明の第1の実施形態のカプセル内視鏡の概略構成を示す断面図である。また図2は、図1のカプセル内視鏡におけるカバー部材を取り出して示す断面図であって、図1のA−A線に沿う断面に相当する。

図1に示すように、本実施形態のカプセル内視鏡1は、略カプセル形状のカバー部材と、このカバー部材からなる筐体内部に観察手段等の各種の内部構成部材等が一体に組み込まれて構成されてなるものである。

カバー部材は、本カプセル内視鏡1の外装部の一部を構成するカプセルカバー11と、本カプセル内視鏡1の外装部の他の一部(前端部分)を構成する透明カバー14とによって形成されている。

カプセルカバー11は、略円筒形状部を有し、その一端に開口を他端に略椀型形状の底部を備えて形成されている。なお詳細は後述するが、このカプセルカバー11は、所定の受電手段(受電コイル12;図2参照)をその内部の所定の部位に埋め込んだ形態で形成されている。また、カプセルカバー11の内面側の表面の所定の部位には、所定の送信手段(送信アンテナ22;図2参照)が一体的に形成されている。

一方、透明カバー14は、略椀型形状の透明部材によって構成されている。この透明カバー14は、その内部に設けられる照明部15からの照明光束を透過し得るように、かつ同様に内部に設けられる撮影光学系16に対して被写体からの光束が充分に入射し得るように無色透明な硬質部材によって形成されている。

そして、カプセルカバー11と透明カバー14との両者は互いに水密的に連設されている。これによりカバー部材、即ち本カプセル内視鏡1の外装部材(筐体)が形成されている。

このカプセルカバー11と透明カバー14とからなるカバー部材の内部には、例えば被写体を照明する照明手段である照明部15と、所定の被写体像を結像させる機能を有する光学系であって観察手段の一部を構成する撮影光学系16と、観察手段の一部を構成し被写体を表わす画像信号を取得する撮像手段であって例えば電荷結合素子(CCD;Charge Coupled Device)等からなる撮像素子17と、この撮像素子17を駆動制御する駆動制御回路である撮像素子駆動制御部18と、撮像素子17からの出力信号を処理する信号処理回路である信号処理部19等等の各種の内部構成部材がそれぞれ所定の位置に配設されている。

照明部15は、例えば発光ダイオード(LED)や面発光部材等等の発光部材と、この発光部材の前面側に設けられる照明光学系によって構成されている。このうち照明光学系は、発光部材からその前面に向けて照射される照明光束が所定の方向の所定の範囲を照射するように制御する機能を有する光学系である。

撮影光学系16は、照明部15から被写体に向けて照射された照明光束がその被写体によって反射された後の被写体からの反射光束(被写体光束という)を入射して所定の位置(撮像素子17の受光面)に所定の光学的な被写体像を結像させる機能を有するように、例えば複数の光学レンズ等によって構成されている。

この受電手段(以下受電コイルという)12は、本カプセル内視鏡1の外部に設けられる所定の電力供給装置(図示せず)から無線送電によって供給される電力であって、本カプセル内視鏡1を駆動させるための駆動電力を受電するために設けられているものである。

また、カプセルカバー11の内面側の表面の所定の部位には、所定の送信手段である送信アンテナ22がカプセルカバー11と一体的に形成されている。この送信アンテナ22は、撮像素子17によって生成された後、撮像素子駆動制御部18を経て信号処理部19において所定の信号処理(送信用信号の生成処理)が施された画像信号やその他の所定の信号等を、外部に配設される受信記録装置等(図示せず)に向けて送信するために設けられているものである。

そして、このようにカプセルカバー11の外面側に送信アンテナ22を形成した場合には、送信アンテナ22とカプセル内部の電気的構成部材との間において電気的な接続を行ない得るようにするために所定の接続線等を配設する結線用の貫通孔(図示せず)がカプセルカバー11の所定の部位に穿設される(特に図示せず)。この貫通孔は例えばレーザー照射等の手段によって穿設されるものである。そして、この貫通孔に対しては、塗布時に流動性を有する絶縁材料を用いて間隙を埋め込むことにより水密化を行なう。

ところで、受電コイル12をカプセルカバー11の内部の所定の部位に埋め込んだ形態で当該カプセルカバー11を形成するには、例えばインサート成形法や巻き付け成形法等の手段が用いられる。

まず、インサート成形法について、図4(A)・(B)を用いて以下に簡単に説明する。

第一に、図4(A)に示すように所定の線材等を用いてカプセルカバー11の内部に埋めこみ得るサイズの受電コイル12を形成する。図において符号12aは、当該カバー11に埋め込まれる受電コイル12とカバー11の内部に配設される電気的構成部材との間で電気的な接続を確保するために設けられる電気接点を示している。

まず、図5(A)に示すようにカプセルカバー11の内側空洞と略同形状となる成形型部材31の外周面上に所定の線材等を巻回させて受電コイル12を形成する。図において符号12aは当該カバー11に埋め込まれる受電コイル12とカバー11の内部に配設される電気的構成部材との間で電気的な接続を確保するために設けられる電気接点を示している。

一方、カプセルカバー11の内面側(図2参照)若しくは外面側(図3参照)のいずれか一方の表面の所定の部位に送信アンテナ22を当該カプセルカバー11と一体的に形成するには、例えばマスク蒸着法・フォトリソグラフィー法・リフトオフ法・メッキ法・放電加工法・ケガキ加工法・溝加工蒸着研磨法・印刷法・ジェットプリント法(Jet Printing System)・モールド結線素子法(MID;Molded Inteconnection Device)等等、各種さまざまな微細パターン成形法を用いることができる。

ここで、マスク蒸着法について、図6(A)〜(D)を用いて以下に簡単に説明する。なお、以下の説明においては、送信アンテナ22をカプセルカバー11の外側面の表面の所定の部位に一体的に形成する場合を例に挙げて説明している。

上述のインサート成形法又は巻き付け成形法を用いて、その内部に受電コイル12を埋め込んで形成したカプセルカバー11の外面側の表面に対して金属マスク32を配設する。この金属マスク32は、カプセルカバー11の表面の所定の部位を遮蔽し所定の部位を露出し得るように構成されているものである。なお、図6においては、カバー11の内部に埋め込まれて形成されているべき受電コイル12の図示は省略している。

この状態において、例えば蒸着・スパッタ等の手段を用いて送信アンテナ22の素材、例えば銅やアルミニウム等による層を所定の部位に形成させる(図6(B)参照)。その後、金属マスク32を除去する。これによってカプセルカバー11の外面側の表面に送信アンテナ22が形成される(図6(C)参照)。

次いで、図6(D)に示すように結線用の貫通孔22aをカプセルカバー11の所定の部位に穿設する。この貫通孔22aは例えばレーザー照射等の手段によって穿設する。さらにカプセルカバー11の表面上に形成された送信アンテナ22の表面に対してこれを覆い保護するように絶縁薄膜13を形成させる。

次いで、この金属膜の表面上に例えば3D露光装置等を用いて所定のレジストパターンを形成させる。この場合において、送信アンテナの形成を所望する表面が、カプセルカバー11の内面側であるとき、その表面を露光するのに際しては、例えばファイバー・微小ミラー(DMD;Digital Micromirror Device)等を利用して露光動作を行なうことになる。

続いて、上述の工程で形成したレジストパターン自体をマスク(遮蔽物)として、最初の工程で形成した金属膜をエッチングする。その後、不要な部分のレジストを除去する。これによって所定の送信アンテナが形成される。
