Description
The present invention relates to an exhaust gas purification catalyst and an exhaust gas purification catalyst for purifying exhaust gas by burning particulates (solid carbon fine particles, liquid or solid high molecular weight hydrocarbon fine particles) contained in the exhaust gas discharged from a diesel engine. It is related with the exhaust gas purification material which carry | supported.
Particulates contained in the exhaust gas from a diesel engine have a particle size of approximately 1 μm or less and are likely to float in the atmosphere, and are easily taken into the human body during breathing.
In addition, since the particulates also contain carcinogenic substances, regulations regarding particulate emissions from diesel engines are being strengthened.
One method of removing particulates from exhaust gas is to collect particulates with a heat-resistant three-dimensional structure, and then heat the three-dimensional structure with a heating means such as a burner or a heater. There is a method of burning and changing to carbon dioxide gas. Further, as the three-dimensional structure, an exhaust gas purifying material carrying an exhaust gas purifying catalyst containing a metal oxide or the like is known, and in this case, the collected particulates are converted into normal by the catalytic action of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst. It can be burned at a temperature lower than the particulate combustion temperature.
However, no exhaust gas purification material that supports the current exhaust gas purification catalyst has been found to have high catalytic activity enough to burn particulates at the exhaust gas temperature of a diesel engine. It has become.
Accordingly, development of an exhaust gas purifying catalyst having high catalytic activity capable of burning particulates at a lower temperature is desired. Using an exhaust gas purifying material carrying such an exhaust gas purifying catalyst, the particulates can be converted at the exhaust gas temperature. If combustion is possible, it is not necessary to dispose the heating means in the exhaust gas purification device, and the configuration of the exhaust gas purification device can be simplified.
However, the conventional exhaust gas purifying catalyst and the exhaust gas purifying material carrying the same have the following problems.
1) The exhaust gas purifying catalyst described in Patent Document 1 and the exhaust gas purifying material carrying the exhaust gas purifying catalyst are not so high that the catalytic activity of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst can sufficiently burn the particulates at the temperature of the exhaust gas temperature. There is a problem that a separate heating means is required to burn the particulates collected in the material.
2) The exhaust gas purifying catalysts described in
3) Since the catalyst for exhaust gas purification described in
The present invention solves the above-described conventional problems, has high catalytic activity for burning particulates, each of the combined catalysts can fully exhibit, and sufficient particulates at the exhaust gas temperature. An object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst excellent in exhaust gas purifying performance that can be burned and removed, and to provide an exhaust gas purifying material that can completely burn and remove particulates and is extremely excellent in durability.
In order to achieve the above object, the exhaust gas purifying catalyst of the present invention is at least one selected from Si, Ti, Al, and Zr as an alkali metal sulfate, a noble metal, a rare earth oxide, and an alkaline earth metal oxide. With this configuration, the catalyst contact area is increased, and as a result, the contact point with the particulates in the diesel exhaust gas is increased, and a highly active exhaust gas purification catalyst can be obtained. Moreover, the use of an alkali metal sulfate increases the heat resistance of the alkali metal and improves the durability. Furthermore, the SOF component in the particulate can be burned by using a noble metal, and the carbon component in the particulate can be burned by using a rare earth oxide and an alkali metal sulfate.
The exhaust gas purifying catalyst of the present invention includes a method in which a rare earth oxide is supported on an inorganic oxide and then an alkali metal sulfate and a noble metal are supported, and a rare earth oxide and an alkali metal sulfate. Are supported on an inorganic oxide and then a noble metal is supported.
Further, the exhaust gas purification catalyst is supported on a heat-resistant three-dimensional structure to form an exhaust gas purification material. As a result, the particulates collected in the exhaust gas purifying material can be sufficiently combusted at a temperature approximately equal to the exhaust gas temperature, so that no additional heating means is required for combustion.
According to the present invention, with this catalyst configuration, it is possible to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst having high catalytic activity for burning particulates and high heat resistance.
In addition, by supporting the catalyst having this structure on the exhaust gas purification structure, the particulates at a temperature of about the exhaust gas temperature without the need for a separate heating means to burn the particulates collected in the exhaust gas purification structure. The process according to claim 1 4 to 15, can be obtained at a relatively low temperature oxide and 500 ° C. to 600 ° C., it is possible to prevent decrease in the surface area of the inorganic oxide, the thermal degradation of the catalyst . In addition, since the heat resistance of the inorganic oxide is improved by adding the oxide, the inorganic oxide may be fired at 600 ° C. or higher, and is preferably fired at 900 ° C. or higher in order to completely oxidize the nitrate.
Here, when a chloride such as cerium chloride or magnesium chloride is used, the chloride remains as it is even if calcined at 900 ° C., which may poison the catalyst and is not suitable for use.

By this system, the first exhaust gas purifying material arranged upstream in the exhaust gas flow direction burns the component of the particulates that has not been carbonized so much that it is arranged downstream in the exhaust gas flow direction. In addition to reducing the burden on the second exhaust gas purification material, the second exhaust gas purification material can burn carbonized components in the particulates, so that the carbonization of carbon is affected by the exhaust gas temperature and oxygen concentration. It has the effect of constructing a system that completely removes particulates in the exhaust gas, which is composed of advanced components and a portion of carbonization that is not so advanced.
Further, NO, CO, HC, etc. can be oxidized by the action of the second catalyst and discharged as NO 2 , CO 2 and water. Next, there is a method such as drying, but the first catalyst and the second catalyst are supported on the inorganic oxide separately, and then mixed together, whereby the first catalyst and the second catalyst are mutually bonded. It is expected that the support can be efficiently carried out without hindering the support to the inorganic oxide. As a result, each of the first, second, and third catalysts blended can exert its maximum function, thereby obtaining extremely high catalytic activity against particulate combustion, oxidation of NO, CO, HC, etc. It is expected.
Further, since the first catalyst and the second catalyst are separately supported on the inorganic oxide, the number of treatments applied to the same inorganic oxide is reduced. In addition, since the second catalyst is supported on the surface of the third catalyst, it is expected that oxygen is stored and released efficiently, and particulates are burned and NO, CO, HC, etc. are oxidized. In addition, it is expected that the necessary oxygen can be efficiently supplied to the first and second catalysts.
In addition, since the first catalyst and the second catalyst are supported on the surface and the number of contacts with particulates, NO, CO, HC, etc. increases, the exhaust gas purification performance can be exhibited efficiently and stably. .
Further, since the first catalyst and the second catalyst are separately supported on the inorganic oxide, the number of treatments applied to the same inorganic oxide is reduced. A catalyst a carrying a second catalyst; and a catalyst b carrying a first catalyst having at least one alkali metal sulfate selected from Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs on the inorganic oxide; An exhaust gas purifying catalyst comprising a catalyst k carrying a third catalyst having at least one rare earth oxide selected from La and Ce as an inorganic oxide.
According to this configuration, as in the exhaust gas purifying catalyst according to claim 17 , each of the first, second, and third catalysts blended can exert its maximum function, so that particulate combustion, NO, CO, It has the effect of obtaining an extremely high catalytic activity against oxidation of HC and the like.
When the first catalyst, the second catalyst, and the third catalyst are supported on the same surface of the inorganic oxide, for example, the first catalyst, the metal salt of the second catalyst, and the metal of the third catalyst There is a method of dispersing an inorganic oxide in a solution in which a salt is dissolved and then drying, but the first catalyst, the second catalyst, and the third catalyst are separately supported on the inorganic oxide, and then these It is expected that the first catalyst, the second catalyst, and the third catalyst can be efficiently supported without interfering with each other on the inorganic oxide. As a result, each of the first, second, and third catalysts blended can exert its maximum function, thereby obtaining extremely high catalytic activity against particulate combustion, oxidation of NO, CO, HC, etc. It is expected.
In addition, since the first catalyst, the second catalyst, and the third catalyst are separately supported on the inorganic oxide, the number of treatments applied to the same inorganic oxide is reduced. Therefore, the catalyst can be efficiently produced by separately preparing the catalyst supporting the first catalyst, the catalyst supporting the second catalyst, and the catalyst supporting the third catalyst.
The method for producing an exhaust gas purifying catalyst according to claim 29, wherein a catalyst d obtained by dispersing an inorganic oxide in a liquid containing a metal salt of the second catalyst, and drying or drying and calcining in a reducing atmosphere after drying, Disperse the inorganic oxide in the liquid containing the catalyst j obtained by dispersing the inorganic oxide in the liquid containing the first catalyst and drying or drying and then baking in an oxidizing atmosphere and the metal salt of the third catalyst. is allowed, and a catalyst l obtained by firing after drying oxidizing atmosphere, a method according to
By this production method, each of the first, second and third catalysts blended can exert its maximum function, so that it has extremely high catalytic activity against particulate combustion and oxidation of NO, CO, HC, etc. Has the effect of obtaining
3. 0 exhaust gas purification material described, claim 17 which is carried on a three-dimensional structure having a heat resistance as a substrate, 18, 2 0, 22, 24, 26 or 28 exhaust gas purifying catalyst according to any one Is an exhaust gas purifying material characterized in that
Particulates contained in diesel exhaust gas include components that have been carbonized and components that have not progressed so much under the influence of exhaust gas temperature, oxygen concentration, and the like. In the particulates in the exhaust gas collected by the exhaust gas purification material having heat resistance, the component that has been carbonized by the first catalyst is burned, and the component that has not progressed much by the second catalyst is burned by the second catalyst. Since the exhaust gas purification material is always kept clean and does not increase the differential pressure of the exhaust gas purification material, the burden on the engine can be reduced.
In addition, since a plurality of catalysts having different functions are provided, even when the exhaust gas temperature is not so high, particulates can be burned, NO, CO, HC, etc. can be oxidized, and the exhaust gas can be purified.
In addition, since the catalyst is supported on an inorganic oxide having a large surface area containing at least one element selected from Si, Ti, Al, and Zr, the surface area of the catalyst also increases, and as a result, particulates, NO, CO, Since the contact point with HC etc. increases, exhaust gas purification performance can be exhibited efficiently and stably.
In addition, since the third catalyst is supported on the inorganic oxide containing at least one element selected from Si, Ti, Al, and Zr, the heat resistance of the inorganic oxide is improved and the combustion of the particulates. It is expected that necessary oxygen can be supplied to the first and second catalysts during the oxidation of NO, CO, HC, and the like.
In addition, since the particulates can be burned and removed at the normal exhaust gas temperature, it is not necessary to separately arrange the heating means in the exhaust gas purification device, and the device can be downsized.
The three-dimensional structure having heat resistance shown here is a ceramic material such as cordierite, aluminum titanate, mullite, α-alumina, zirconia, titania, silicon carbide, silica, silica / alumina, alumina / zirconia, etc. A metal material made of metal foam, metal nonwoven fabric, metal fiber mesh, or a combination thereof can be used.
The process according to claim 31 exhaust gas purification material described,
By this manufacturing method, a heat-resistant three-dimensional structure carrying an exhaust gas purification catalyst can be obtained.
Further, a dispersant may be added to the liquid in which the exhaust gas purification catalyst is dispersed. The dispersant is preferably one that does not remain on the catalyst, such as a polycarboxylic acid type polymer surfactant, that burns during drying or firing.
An exhaust gas purification system according to claim 32 is provided with a first exhaust gas purification material comprising a heat-resistant flow-through honeycomb carrying an exhaust gas purification catalyst disposed upstream of the exhaust gas flow direction, and an exhaust gas flow direction claim 17 disposed on the downstream side, 18, of 2 0, 22, 24, 26 or 28 second exhaust gas purification material made of wall-through type honeycomb having heat resistance carrying the exhaust gas purifying catalyst according to any one An exhaust gas purification system characterized by being arranged in two stages.
It has the function of constructing a system that completely removes particulates in exhaust gas, which is composed of advanced components and components that are not very carbonized.
Further, NO, CO, HC, etc. can be oxidized by the action of the second catalyst and discharged as NO 2 , CO 2 and water. Furthermore, the second catalyst also serves as a catalyst for the reaction between the produced NO 2 and the particulates, and can further promote the combustion of the particulates.

(Evaluation example 1)
0.25 g of the exhaust gas purification catalyst sample prepared in Example 1, Example 2, Comparative Example 1, Comparative Example 2, and Comparative Example 3 and 0.075 g of commercially available carbon as a substitute for particulates were pulverized and mixed in an agate mortar. The catalytic activity was evaluated using an analyzer. The catalytic activity was evaluated from the weight reduction curve of carbon when the air flow rate was 100 ml / min and the temperature was raised from room temperature to 700 ° C. at a rate of temperature rise of 5 ° C./min. In the weight loss curve of carbon, the weight data at 200 ° C. was set as an initial value, the weight data when the weight decrease was almost constant and the final value was set as the final value, and the weight difference between these two points was set as 100%. With respect to 100%, the temperature when the weight difference is 10% is defined as T10, the temperature when the weight difference is 90% is defined as T90, and T10 is used as an evaluation index of the catalytic activity for the relatively flammable portion, T90 was used as an evaluation index of catalytic activity for the relatively non-flammable portion of carbon.

The “Composition of catalyst” item in Table 1 indicates that, for example, the meaning of the description in Example 1 was that Pt was supported after CeO 2 and Cs 2 SO 4 were supported on Al 2 O 3 . In addition, the “firing pattern” item in the table indicates, for example, the meaning of the notation of Example 1, the firing history when the exhaust gas purification catalyst was produced was oxidized and fired at 900 ° C., then reduced and fired at 400 ° C., and further at 600 ° C. It represents that it is oxidized and fired. Since T90 in Example 1, Example 2, and Comparative Example 1 had almost no difference, it was found that there was not much difference in the catalytic activity for the nonflammable part. At T10, the exhaust gas purification catalyst produced in Example 1 and Example 2 started to burn carbon because the temperature of Example 1 and Example 2 was lower by about 30 ° C. than that of Comparative Example 1. Was found to exhibit very high activity. Further, in Comparative Example 2 and Comparative Example 3, T10 is a very high value as compared with Example 1 and Example 2, and it is understood that the catalyst activity is greatly influenced by the loading order and the firing history even if the catalyst composition is the same. It was.

(Evaluation example 3)
The exhaust gas purification materials manufactured in Example 3, Example 4, Example 5, and Comparative Example 4 were subjected to the following exhaust gas purification test (see FIG. 3).
BPT(Balance Point of

The results are shown in Table 2. Table 2 is a table showing the BPT results of various exhaust gas purifying materials in Example 3, Example 4, Example 5, and Comparative Example 4 of the present invention. “DPF” shown in the composition of the catalyst in Table 2 represents a wall-through honeycomb, and “honeycomb” represents a flow-through honeycomb. Further, -DPF and -honeycomb indicate that a catalyst is supported on the DPF or honeycomb. The BPT of the exhaust gas purifying material of Comparative Example 4 is 331.2 ° C., whereas the exhaust gas purifying materials of Example 3 and Example 4 both have a BPT low value of the first half of 300 ° C. and are higher than the particulates. It was found to be an exhaust gas purification material having catalytic activity. Furthermore, the BPT of Example 5 was a very low value of 295 ° C., and it was found that the exhaust gas purification system having a very high catalytic activity with respect to the particulates was obtained by using a two-stage configuration.

(Evaluation example 5)
0.25 g of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst sample prepared in Example 6 and 0.075 g of commercially available carbon as a substitute for particulates were pulverized and mixed in an agate mortar, and the catalytic activity was evaluated using a thermal analyzer.
The results are shown in Table 3.
