本発明の実施形態1のシステムは、デジタルカメラ1、サーバコンピュータ2、顧客コンピュータ3で構成される。デジタルカメラ1とサーバコンピュータ2と顧客コンピュータ3とはインターネット等のネットワークで通信可能に接続される。インターネットによりデジタルカメラ1とサーバコンピュータ2と顧客コンピュータ3とを通信可能にするためには、インターネットプロバイダ等が必要であるが、本発明と直接関係ないのでここでは説明を省略する。また、図1においてはインターネットを使用したシステムを例示しているが、LAN(Local Area Network)やエクストラネット等のネットワークを使用したシステムでも実現できる。

図6は、購入したメモリ容量が存在するアドレス情報、アクセスする時に必要なアクセスキーを記載したページである。デジタルカメラ1に送信されたアクセスキーを登録することにより、自動的に画像データを購入したメモリ領域のフォルダに送信し、保存できるようになる。一台のデジタルカメラだけでなく複数のデジタルカメラから同じフォルダに画像データを保存することができる。また、アクセスキーを入力するだけで画像データが保存できるように設定されていないデジタルカメラであっても、送信されたアドレスを入力し、配信されたページでアクセスキーを入力することで使用可能となるので、インターネット通信機能とブラウザソフトを使用できる環境にあるデジタルカメラであれば使用可能である。

上述のオンラインショップにおけるメモリ容量の購入制御について具体的に説明する。図7は、サーバコンピュータ2で実行されるメモリ容量購入制御を示すフローチャート図である。図7に示すフローは、オンラインショップサイトにおいてデジタルカメラ1のアクセサリ購入ページにアクセスする信号を受信することによりスタートする。

また、簡易サーバコンピュータ7と複数のデジタルカメラとはブルートゥース等の無線LANで接続されている。
