従来、座板を形成するのに、基板の上にクッション材を設け、このクッション材と基板とを、基板の裏面の中央部を残して表皮材で覆い、この表皮材の側縁に形成された筒状の挿通部に可撓性の締付紐条を通して、これを緊張させることにより、表皮材の周縁を窄めて一体化するやり方が行われている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
このような座板の形成法は合理的なものではあるが、表皮材の挿通部、すなわち周縁部が均一に窄まないので、座板を裏面から見た場合、やや見苦しい。特に、椅子がネスティング格納可能で、座板を起立させるものである場合、座板の裏面が正面から見えるので、体裁が悪い。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明によると、上記課題は、次のようにして解決される。
(1) 枠状の支持フレームに、座部の裏面側の周縁部を載置して支持した椅子の座板であって、前記座部が、前記支持フレームの外周に沿う係止リブが裏面から突設された基板と、該基板の表面側を覆うクッション材と、該クッション材と前記基板の周辺部とを覆う表皮材とを備え、前記基板の裏面に、前記支持フレームの内周に沿う受支リブを突設するとともに、前記受支リブの角部における上下方向の中間部から基部にかけて切り欠き部を設け、かつ前記表皮材の周縁に可撓性の締付紐条を挿通可能な挿通部を設け、前記締付紐条を挿通した前記挿通部を前記切り欠き部に係合させて、前記締付紐条を緊張させることにより、前記表皮材の周縁を前記受支リブの外周まで窄めるとともに、前記支持フレームを前記係止リブと前記受支リブとの間に嵌合し、前記座部の前記表皮材の周縁を、前記係止リブの先端を経て、前記基板の裏面と支持フレームとの間に挟み込んで、支持フレームにより覆い隠すようにする。
(2) 上記(1)項において、前記基板の前部の前記受支リブを板状断面とし、前記基部の左右側部および後部の前記受支リブを、V字状断面とする。
