一般的には135kHz(中波)、13.56MHz、2.45GHz(マイクロ波)の周波数帯が使用される。

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a book delivery, return and inventory management system, a book with a non-contact IC tag, a book strip, and the like. More specifically, the present invention relates to a system that efficiently performs each process of delivery, return, and inventory management by attaching a contactless IC tag that communicates with a reader / writer in a contactless manner to a book.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, delivery and return of books, and sales management at bookstores require a great deal of manpower, which increases distribution costs and sales costs. For example, in the delivery process, which is the shipment stage of books, it is necessary to manually and manually check the name of each book, check the price, check the publisher, etc. There was a problem of incorrect management due to mistakes caused by mistakes. This is the same in the case of return of books, and in order to settle the returned books, it is necessary to check each item name and price of the books.
The same problem applies to the book sales process, and it is difficult for the customer to know exactly where the book is in a large store because the book in stock cannot be grasped accurately.
Therefore, there are problems that it takes time for transactions and efficiency does not increase. The same applies to inventory management and inventory at bookstores, and there is also a problem that management is inadequate due to the time taken for relatively low-priced items, resulting in out of stock and long-term inventory. It was.
[0003]
Here, let us consider the distribution form of books. The feature of Japan's book sales is that it has a consignment sales system. The book that is unsold at the bookstore can be returned after a certain period of time, and the bookstore will buy a lot of books. As a result, over 30% of books and 20% of magazines are returned. Some books are said to be returned without being placed in store. A book delivery from a publisher to a brokerage store is referred to as a bookstore, and a bookstore is a distributor that distributes books to a bookstore, and the number of distributions is determined based on the sales performance of the bookstore. This is called pattern distribution. Depending on the number of books issued, small bookstores may not distribute them. Depending on the type of book, there are cases where publishers specify bookstores, and there are books that are only sold out.
The order from the bookstore to the managing company is made by an order slip (book strip) that is also used for purchase management and inventory management. In this case, it is sold out.
[0004]
Publications such as books have a resale system for fixed price sales and are consigned products that allow returns. For this reason, the number of new books issued annually is around 40,000, the annual circulation is about 1.4 billion books, and 4.6 billion magazines, about 6 billion in total.
Of these, approximately 1.6 billion books were purchased and 1.4 billion returned goods. As a result, the entire agency handles about 7.4 billion volumes (the situation around 1992).
An online publication information retrieval system (NOCS “daily sales online communication system”) is adopted for handling these publications, and a system for connecting bookstores, publishers, and agency stores through an online network is formed.
Order strips gathered at the agency (daily sales) are about 420,000 copies a day, of which 45% are online orders by NOCS or POS cash register, etc., 36% are trace inputs for machine reading of ISBN codes, and 27% are remaining. It is said to be hand-sorted ("publishing industry, crossroads and selection" (Tsubaki Shobo)).
Efforts are being made to improve the handling of publications, but it is far from being fully online.
[0005]
In order to partially solve such problems, some systems have been proposed in which non-contact IC tags (also referred to as “RF-ID labels”) are attached to books for management.
For example, Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 11-130213 proposes a book management system in a bookshelf, and Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 11-283123 proposes a similar system device. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-275183 proposes the use of an RF-ID label in a library. However, these management systems are partial contents of book management, and a system that comprehensively manages by using non-contact IC tags from book issuance to stock and return processes is not available. Not proposed.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Therefore, in the present invention, at the time of publication of the book, a non-contact IC tag that records the title, publication date, etc. is attached to each book, and the contents are read and recorded with a reader / writer at the time of distribution or return at the agency, By reading and recording the contents with a reader / writer at the time of sales and return at each bookstore, and managing the books by grasping the data in stock by providing a reader function to the bookcase at the bookstore as necessary, It aims to provide a comprehensive management system from delivery to return.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The first of the gist of the present invention for solving the above problems is a system for managing delivery, return and inventory of a book, which has a non-contact IC tag in which necessary management data including a distribution date is recorded. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a system and the like for reliably and efficiently managing the whole process from book delivery, inventory management, and return by attaching or attaching a non-contact IC tag to a book.
[0015]
First, an embodiment of a non-contact IC tag attached to or attached to a book will be described. When a non-contact IC tag is affixed to a book, the book may be affixed to any location other than when the book has a metal cover with an electromagnetic shielding effect.
FIG. 1 shows an example in which a non-contact IC tag is attached to the back portion of a book. The

FIG. 2 is an example in which a non-contact IC tag is formed on a strip for sales management inserted into a book. Since the
[0018]
Items to be recorded on the non-contact IC tag include the title, issuer name, issue date, author name, edition number, normal price such as the selling price, etc., IC tag identification code, book identification Code is required. Since it is preferable to avoid attaching a duplicate code for each tag or book, it is necessary to provide a management standard with which codes are unified. In addition, it is necessary to record normal management items such as unit price, tax amount, date of delivery or consignment, agency name, bookstore name, distribution date, return date, handling fee. In the case of a magazine, an international code number (ISSN) may also be given.
When a bookstore places an order based on a strip for sales management, the order date of the order or the agency, the order bookstore name, etc. are recorded.
[0019]
FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of a non-contact IC tag. The
Such an IC tag is formed by forming a
[0020]
As the resin substrate 110 used for the IC tag, various materials such as PET, polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, and nylon can be used, and paper may be used. A thickness of 15 to 300 μm can be used, but 20 to 100 μm is more preferable in terms of strength, workability, cost, and the like. Although copper foil, aluminum foil, or iron foil can be used as the metal foil, aluminum foil is preferable from the viewpoint of cost and workability, and the thickness is preferably about 6 to 50 μm.
[0021]
Reading of the recorded information can generate a calling signal that resonates with the tag, read a response signal from the tag at a distance of several centimeters to several tens of centimeters, and record the response signal on the tag. As a device, a fixed terminal with a reader / writer or a wireless handy terminal can be used.
[0022]
FIG. 4 is a diagram illustrating an example of a system device in a agency store.
In the figure, reference numeral 41 denotes a host computer. 42 is a processing computer, 43 is a reader / writer that reads the data of deposit, distribution, and return book and records necessary data, 44 is a wireless handy terminal, 45 is a master unit, and 46 is a relay hub. Several reader / writers 43 or
The host computer 41 records and manages all these information and outputs necessary data. The reading of data recorded in these books can also sequentially record what flows on the conveyor line. However, the advantage of the system of the present invention is that each non-contact IC tag data of the stacked books can be read simultaneously and without omission. The point is that it can be recorded. Reading a bar code with a conventional POS terminal cannot identify several books at the same time due to optical characteristics, but with this system, even a few dozen books can be identified virtually instantaneously. The efficiency can be significantly increased.
[0023]
FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a terminal management system system in a bookstore. The plurality of
The terminal 53 with a reader / writer can be a POS terminal for sales management or a reader / writer for a returned book, and when these data are combined, the inventory at the time of closing at the bookstore can be quickly grasped.
Books that are received at the bookstore by distribution or the like are registered in the host computer, and books that are sold or returned are deleted. The host computer 51 records and manages all these pieces of information as a ledger and outputs necessary data. The reading of the data recorded in these books can be read and recorded in a piled-up state in the same manner as in the agency.
[0024]
FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating an example of a system rack apparatus in a bookstore. The
One to several scanners can be incorporated in each bookcase depending on the communication distance. Each of these scanners is connected to the host computer of the bookstore via the master unit, and by searching for a bookcase in which the target book is placed even in a wide store by sequentially sending a calling signal from the host computer. be able to. That is, if the management number of the bookshelf arranged in each book is recorded, the management number is displayed on the display of the host computer or the handy terminal. Alternatively, a light emitting diode (LED) may be lit on the bookcase where the corresponding book is detected. As a result, the store clerk can easily know the location of the book.
[0025]
Similar to a barcode reader, a handy terminal used for book inventory management can obtain a response by transmitting a radio wave of a resonance frequency to an IC tag within a communication distance with a non-contact IC tag. If a liquid crystal display screen is provided on the terminal, the recorded data contents of the detected books can be displayed in sequence, and if a book identification code or book title is specified and entered, there is a corresponding book within the communication distance. You can get a response of whether or not. The handy terminal can wirelessly transmit data to the master unit, and can perform inventory management quickly and reliably by transmitting read data for each rack to the master unit during inventory management such as inventory.
[0026]
When reading response waves from a large number of books, data collision (collision) can occur, and it is necessary to avoid it. There are various methods for avoiding collision, but the following method can also be adopted as an example.
For example, when the non-contact IC tag identification code (identification ID) consists of 4 bits as shown in Table 1, the signal level is “1” or higher depending on whether the 0th bit is “1” or “0”. In this case, the response of the low level “0” having no response is prohibited for a while. Such an operation is sequentially performed for the first bit, the second bit, and the third bit, and finally the target identification code can be retrieved. In the case of Table 1, since there are four types of identification codes 1101, 1110, 0100, 0001 in bit display, a high level signal is called from the first to the third time, and a low level signal is called at the fourth time. At that time, it was possible to search for the identification code “1110”.
[0027]
[Table 1]
[0028]
After searching for the IC tag of the target identification code in this way, data is written to or read from the IC tag. Although it seems that it takes time and effort as described above, in practice, it is possible to instantaneously read and write hundreds of books.
[0029]
Since the non-contact IC tag originally has a function as an anti-theft label, when a book with the non-contact IC tag attached to the bookstore entrance / exit is carried out, it resonates with the resonance tag. If a detection device that emits electromagnetic waves is provided, theft can be detected, which is also useful for the purpose of preventing theft.
In this case, when a book sold in a regular manner is taken out from the bookstore, it is necessary to take measures by a store clerk so that the IC tag does not function.
[0030]
Next, a procedure for actually using a book with a non-contact IC tag will be described.
First, at the issuer (this is actually done when the book is completed at the bookstore), the title of the book, issuer name, issue date, author name, edition number, selling price, etc. In addition to the matters described in the ordinary imprint, the identification code of the IC tag itself and the identification code of the book are recorded. The identification code of the IC tag itself may be recorded separately when the IC tag is manufactured. The identification code of the tag itself is for the purpose of tracking investigation when a defective product occurs in the tag, and can be omitted.
[0031]
When the book is delivered from the issuing office to the agency, the date of delivery or consignment, the name of the agency, the name of the destination bookstore, and the date of delivery are recorded. When the book is returned from the bookstore, the date of return, handling fee, etc. are recorded.
In the agency, the book title, the issuer name, etc. are recorded in correspondence with the identification code of the book delivered, the book distributed, and the returned book, and the handling amount for each handling day can be quickly added up.
[0032]
At the bookstore, distributed books and returned books are input for each identification code, and the sold books can be grasped from the POS cash register terminal by performing sales processing, so that the contents of the books to be stocked can be always grasped. Further, a discrepancy with a book to be stocked by timely inventory management (inventory) is treated as having been stolen. Furthermore, if there is a discrepancy in other data, the actual product is confirmed and resolved manually.
[0033]
In addition, the bookstore lists stock books with a long period from receipt based on inventory information, and performs return processing based on appropriate standards. A handy terminal can also be used for grasping the contents of the return processing.
It is obvious to those skilled in the art that the handling of books as described above can be applied not only to books such as magazines, books, manga books, dictionaries, but also to related publications such as MD, CD, AV, etc. It is not intended to be out of scope.
[0034]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the book delivery, return and inventory management system of the present invention, since the book is attached with a non-contact IC tag, the reader / writer communicates information necessary for management in a non-contact manner. Since the data can be read and recorded, the data can be grasped much more quickly and accurately than in the case of a conventional bar code, which can contribute to labor saving and speeding up of work .
