Description
本発明は、リソーススケジューリングの性能を高めるために、帯域幅要求の計測ベースの推定部(MBE)の使用を提案する。この手法の利点は、重大な障害なく、現在のネットワーク要素に後付けできることである。動的割り当ては、必要に応じて如何なるネットワーク要素にも付加することができる。このようなネットワーク要素ごとの手法では、各トラフィック形式の需要の正確なリソース重み付けを計算するためにMBEを使用する。次にこの推定は、バッファリングの深さ及び動作を調整するのに加えて、スケジューリングアルゴリズムの重み付けを調整するために使用される。
本発明に従ったシステムのブロック図を図1に示す。その動的割り当てシステムは、各トラフィッククラスの需要を計算するための方法から構成される。ここで示す実装では、計測ベースの推定部は、線利用の計測値を用いて各クラスの需要を計算し、次に、これら需要の推定値は、動的リソース割り当て部に提供される。動的リソース割り当て部は、スケジューラーの重み付け(例えば、重み付けされたラウンドロビンスケジューラーの重み付け)、及び特定のトラフィッククラスが使用できる最大バッファ深さを構成することができる。ネットワーク要素は、これらの構成された制限を、それらが送信リンク上で多重化されるように、トラフィックのクラスに課すことになる。

第二の実験では、動的割り当て部は、トラフィックの3つのクラスで構成される。これらのクラスは、残りの利用可能な容量を使用することを意とされるベストエフォートクラスとともに、遅延制限された及び損失制限されたトラフィックを含む。動的割り当て部は、100msごとに、現在の割り当てを再評価するように構成された。推定部の構成は、計測値を1.3秒毎に作成され、その計測値が再割り当て期間を超えてサンプリングするのに充分な期間をカバーするように、MBEは構成されており(このアルゴリズムのMBEの場合、τ=1.3ms、T=200、及びM=4)、従って、連続した割り当て間のトラフィック変動からの最大の保護を提供する。その値は、メモリ、CPU、及び計測システム上に実際の需要を配置するように選択される。これらの値はトラフィック関連の最適値をとるであろうことが予想されるが、しかしながら、その実装環境で要求される値が適切な結果を提供することができるであろうことを示すことが重要であった。

Claims (5)
- サービスの異なるレベルが各々に関連付けられているネットワークの使用の複数のクラスに、通信ネットワークリソースを提供するための装置であって、
トラフィックエンベロープ内の短期間バーストを定める推定値とトラフィックエンベロープ間の長期間分散を定める推定値とからなる2つの推定値の内、大きい値が最悪有効帯域幅推定値を示す場合に、2つの異なる時間スケールについて有効帯域幅であるその2つの推定値を計算することによって、前記使用の複数のクラスの各々について需要を推定する需要推定部と、
前記通信ネットワークリソースの一部を各クラスに割り当てるための動的リソース割り当て部であって、割り当てられる割合は、各クラスについて推定される需要に依存しており、割り当ては利用可能なリソースの使用を最適化し、同時に各クラスのサービスのレベルが順守されることを確実にする前記動的リソース割り当て部と、
各クラスに、前記各クラスに割り当てられる通信ネットワークリソースの一部を提供するための通信ネットワーク要素と
