釣竿に装着する脚部を上部に有するリール本体の前部に、釣糸案内部を有するロータ及び釣糸が巻回されるスプールを備えた魚釣用スピニングリールであって、
前記リール本体の後部に、後方および側方に開口する切欠き部を有するカバー体取付部をリール本体の後面から底面に沿って形成し、上腕部と該上腕部の下端部から前方に延びる支持腕部とを有する略L字状に形成したカバー体を前記カバー体取付部に取り付けることで、前記上腕部が前記切欠き部を跨ぐブリッジ状構造を形成し、該切欠き部は、前記カバー体の上腕部とリール本体の後面との間に、外部に連通する空間部を形成することを特徴とする魚釣用スピニングリール。
