Description
The present invention relates to a beam irradiation apparatus, and is suitable for use in, for example, an inter-vehicle detector, a distance detector, and the like.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, a detection device that detects an obstacle in a target area by irradiating the target area with laser light is mounted on a domestic passenger car or the like. Such a detection device scans a laser beam within a target area, and detects an obstacle and a distance to the obstacle from a light receiving state of the reflected light.
However, according to such a conventional technique, there arises a problem that the amplitude of the laser beam is limited by the driving amount of the actuator. In this case, since the drive amount of the actuator has a certain limit, if the scanning lens is displaced more than that, the actuator is further increased or the driving force of the electromagnetic circuit composed of the magnet and the coil is increased. There is a need. However, this causes problems such as an increase in the size of the beam irradiation device and an increase in power consumption.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a beam irradiation apparatus that can solve such a problem and can increase the amplitude of laser light with a simple configuration while suppressing the displacement amount of the scanning lens.
In view of the above problems, the present invention has the following features.
According to the first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a light source that emits laser light, and the laser light emitted from the light source is converged more than parallel light, and the traveling direction is displaced in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the laser light. 1 lens means, and driving means for driving the first lens means in a two-dimensional manner in a first direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the laser light and in a first direction perpendicular to the first direction and the optical axis. A position sensor that outputs a signal corresponding to the irradiation position of the laser beam, and a third lens unit that is arranged between the position sensor and the light splitting unit and converges the second light on the position sensor; A beam irradiation apparatus characterized by comprising:
According to the present invention, the widening action imparted by the second lens means can increase the amplitude when scanning the laser beam by several steps compared to the conventional example.
For example, the laser beam emitted from the second lens means is parallel light, and the beam diameter (according to the ray tracing method) is incident on the first lens means (also the ray tracing method). 1 / n), according to the present invention, the laser beam can be scanned with a swing width n times that of the conventional example.

The lens holder 302 has holes for fitting the wires 307 at the four corners. After the wires 307 are inserted into the holes, both ends of the wire 307 are fixed to the wire fixing member 306. As a result, the lens holder 302 is elastically supported by the wire fixing member 306 via the wire 307.

As shown in the figure,
When the separated light is converged on the light receiving surface, an electric charge proportional to the amount of light is generated at the convergence position. This electric charge reaches the resistance layer as a photocurrent, is divided in inverse proportion to the distance to each electrode, and is output from the electrodes X1, X2, Y1, and Y2. Here, the current output from the electrodes X1, X2, Y1, and Y2 has a magnitude divided in inverse proportion to the distance from the convergence position of the separated light to each electrode. Therefore, the convergence position on the light receiving surface can be detected based on the current values output from the electrodes X1, X2, Y1, and Y2.

The signal processing circuit generates a voltage Xout corresponding to the X-direction displacement amount of the convergence position and a voltage Yout corresponding to the Y-direction displacement amount based on the currents output from the electrodes X1, X2, Y1, and Y2. The data is output to a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) control circuit via an ADC (Analog Digital Converter). The DSP control circuit detects the X-direction displacement amount and the Y-direction displacement amount of the convergence position from the input voltages Xout and Yout.

In this verification example, when the
However, if the beam diameter of the laser light emitted from the
In addition, when the conditions in the simulation are set in the optical system, it is possible to smoothly irradiate the target region with the irradiation laser light without causing adverse effects due to water droplets or dust.
By the way, when the scanning lens is displaced from the neutral position as in the present embodiment, an aberration is generated according to the deviation between the central axis of the scanning lens and the optical axis of the incident laser light. 7 to 9 are simulations of the aberration generation state (intensity distribution) when the
Each figure shows the beam intensity distribution (left figure) when the irradiation laser beam is shaken by a predetermined angle in the horizontal direction while displacing the scanning lens, and the beam profile in the horizontal direction (left and right direction in the drawing) with respect to each beam intensity distribution. (Middle figure) and a beam profile (right figure) in the vertical direction (up and down direction in the drawing) are shown. The horizontal axis of the beam profile is the distance from the beam center position (the position where the beam intensity is highest), and the vertical axis is the intensity level when the maximum intensity is 100. The horizontal axis is set so that the beam center position becomes zero.
As can be seen with reference to FIGS. 7 to 9, when the conditions in this simulation are set in the optical system, the irradiation laser light is scanned about 15 ° in the horizontal direction from the neutral position (see FIG. 8B). The state of occurrence of aberration becomes conspicuously large, and the intensity distribution of the irradiation laser light is distorted in the horizontal direction. Furthermore, when the scanning angle is about 20 ° (see FIG. 9), the distortion of the intensity distribution becomes considerably large. Such distortion also occurs when the irradiated laser beam is scanned in the vertical direction.
In order to reduce this distortion, the lens surface of the
Although the embodiments according to the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various other modifications are possible.
For example, in the above embodiment, the
For example, when the direction of the wide-angle action by the
In this case, the
This modification is effective when it is desired to make the scanning range in one direction particularly large. For example, when the beam irradiation device is used for in-vehicle use, it is necessary to set the scanning range in the horizontal direction larger than the vertical direction and to quickly detect obstacles on the side and sudden jumping out from the side. is there. This modified example is suitable for use in such a case.
In this modified example, since the degree of change in the scanning angle in the Z-axis direction is larger than the degree of change in the scanning angle in the Y-axis direction, the separated light converged on the
By the way, in the said embodiment, although the entrance surface and exit surface of the

Note that the
As can be seen with reference to FIGS. 10 to 12, by making the incident surface of the attachment lens 700 a toroidal surface, the beam shape of the irradiation laser light can be further elongated in the vertical direction as compared with the above example. If it carries out like this, compared with said example, the cover range of the irradiation laser beam in an up-down direction can be expanded. Therefore, when this configuration is used in an obstacle detection apparatus, the number of scan stages in the vertical direction in the target area can be reduced as shown in FIG. Therefore, it is possible to simplify the scan control.

Even when the simulation conditions are obeyed, a wide-angle action substantially similar to that shown in FIG. 6 can be realized.
Also, as can be seen with reference to FIGS. 10 to 12, when the simulation conditions are obeyed, aberrations occur in the irradiated laser light as described above. That is, when the conditions in this simulation are set in the optical system, the state of occurrence of the aberration becomes conspicuously increased when the irradiation laser beam is scanned about 15 ° in the horizontal direction from the neutral position (see FIG. 11B). The intensity distribution of the irradiation laser light is distorted in the horizontal direction. Furthermore, when the scanning angle is about 20 ° (see FIG. 12), the distortion of the intensity distribution is considerably large. Such distortion also occurs when the irradiated laser beam is scanned in the vertical direction.
In order to reduce this distortion, the lens surface of the
By adjusting the surface shape of the
