Description
調製、ペレット固有抵抗の測定
5体積%の「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200Fのペレットの体積固有抵抗を決定するために、ミネソタ州ミネアポリスのベペックス(Bepex Corp.(Minneapolis,MN))から入手できる混合装置(Model #NHS−0)を用いて、「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200Fとポリメチルメタクリレートの混合物を調製した。2.75グラムの「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200Fおよび35.92グラムのポリメチルメタクリレートを添加することにより、導電性添加剤/ポリマープレミックスを調製した。「ハイブリダイザ(Hybridizer)」プロペラを1,300rpmで2分にわたり用いて、これらの成分/材料を300ccカップ内で混合した。

8重量%の「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200F(カリフォルニア州ピノールのエオニックス(Eeonyx Inc.(Pinole,CA))から市販されている)および90重量%のポリメチルメタクリレート(日本国東京のソーケン・ケミカル&エンジニアリング(Soken Chemical & Engineering Co.Ltd.(Tokyo,Japan))から市販されているMP−116)の高強度ポリマープレミックスを10リットルのヘンシェルブレンダー(ヘンシェルミキサーズ・アメリカ(Henschel Mixers America,Inc.)から入手できるModel FM−10)内で混合することにより調製した。ポリマープレミックス製品を50体積%装填量でヘンシェルブレンダー内で3,000rpmで1分にわたりブレンドした。
「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)/ポリメチルメタクリレート被覆キャリアの12/88比(重量による)の調製
12重量%の「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200F(カリフォルニア州ピノールのエオニックス(Eeonyx Inc.(Pinole,CA))から市販されている)および88重量%のポリメチルメタクリレート(日本国東京のソーケン・ケミカル&エンジニアリング(Soken Chemical & Engineering Co.Ltd.(Tokyo,Japan))から市販されているMP−116)の高強度ポリマープレミックスを10リットルのヘンシェルブレンダー(ヘンシェルミキサーズ・アメリカ(Henschel Mixers America,Inc.)から入手できるModel FM−10)内で混合することにより調製した。ポリマープレミックス製品を57体積%装填量でヘンシェルブレンダー内で3,000rpmで1分にわたりブレンドした。
「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)/ポリメチルメタクリレート被覆キャリアの20/80比(重量による)の調製
20重量%の「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200F(カリフォルニア州ピノールのエオニックス(Eeonyx Inc.(Pinole,CA))から市販されている)および80重量%のポリメチルメタクリレート(日本国東京のソーケン・ケミカル&エンジニアリング(Soken Chemical & Engineering Co.Ltd.(Tokyo,Japan))から市販されているMP−116)のポリマープレミックスをロールミル装置上の2クオートのジャー内で混合することにより調製した。ポリマープレミックス製品をポリ(メチルメタクリレート)および「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200F投入材料の54.7体積%装填量でロールミルで900グラムの0.5センチメートル鋼球を用いて90フィート/分で30分にわたりブレンドした。
「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)/ポリメチルメタクリレート被覆キャリアの5/95比(重量による)の調製
5重量%の「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200F(カリフォルニア州ピノールのエオニックス(Eeonyx Inc.(Pinole,CA))から市販されている)および95重量%のポリメチルメタクリレート(日本国東京のソーケン・ケミカル&エンジニアリング(Soken Chemical & Engineering Co.Ltd.(Tokyo,Japan))から市販されているMP−116)の本明細書で例示されたポリマープレミックスをロールミル装置上の2クオートのジャー内で混合することにより調製した。ポリマープレミックス製品をポリ(メチルメタクリレート)および「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200F投入材料の34.6体積%装填量でロールミルで900グラムの0.5センチメートル鋼球を用いて90フィート/分で30分にわたりブレンドした。
「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)/ポリメチルメタクリレート被覆キャリアの10/90比(重量による)の調製
10重量%の「エオノマー(EEONOMER)」(登録商標)200F(カリフォルニア州ピノールのエオニックス(Eeonyx Inc.(Pinole,CA))から市販されている)および90重量%のポリメチルメタクリレート(日本国東京のソーケン・ケミカル&エンジニアリング(Soken Chemical & Engineering Co.Ltd.(Tokyo,Japan))から市販されているMP−116)のポリマープレミックスを130リットルの130Dブレンダー(ケンタッキー州フローレンスのリトルフォード・デイ(Littleford Day Inc.(Florence,KY))から入手できる)内で混合することにより調製した。ポリマープレミックス製品を32.8%体積装填量で156rpmのプラウ速度および2,600rpmのチョッパー速度で上の130Dブレンダー内で6分にわたりブレンドした。
Claims (5)
- コアと、ポリマー被膜とを含むキャリアであって、前記ポリマー被膜がカーボンブラックを内包する導電性ポリピロールを含有し、前記導電性ポリピロールは、カーボンブラック表面上にポリピロールをその場(in situ)重合させることにより形成されることを特徴とするキャリア。
- 前記ポリマー被膜はポリマーの混合物を含む請求項1に記載のキャリア。
- 前記ポリマー被膜は、ポリメチルメタクリレートからなる請求項1に記載のキャリア。
- 前記導電性ポリピロール対前記ポリマー被膜の比は5/95から10/90である請求項3に記載のキャリア。
- 前記導電性ポリピロールが、前記ポリマー被膜及び導電性ポリピロールの総重量に対して0.1〜5重量%の量で存在する請求項1に記載のキャリア。
