本体に対して用紙を供給する用紙カセットが水平方向に抜き取り可能に設けられ、前記用紙カセットの上方に沿って略水平に設けられた用紙搬送路の下側の一面を構成する用紙搬送機構において、
前記用紙カセットの抜き取り方向は前記用紙搬送路における用紙搬送方向の下流側であり、
前記用紙搬送機構は、前記用紙搬送路における用紙搬送方向の上流側に上流側用紙ガイド部材と、下流側に下流側用紙ガイド部材から構成されており、
前記上流側用紙ガイド部材と前記下流側用紙ガイド部材の下方に、これらの用紙ガイド部材のいずれか一方の上面から上方に向かって突出する用紙搬送ローラを備えたローラ支持部材を設けるとともに、このローラ支持部材を用紙ガイド部材の方向へと付勢する付勢手段を設け、
前記ローラ支持部材は、その用紙搬送方向下流側に前記下流側用紙ガイド部材との接続部を、用紙搬送方向略中央部に前記用紙搬送ローラを、用紙搬送方向上流側に前記上流側用紙ガイド部材との当接部を、備えるとともに、前記接続部にて回転自在に支持され、
