従来、携帯電話を初めとする携帯端末装置において、インターネットや通信事業者の提供するコンテンツ等のデータを閲覧する際、閲覧を行う情報のデータ受信中は、携帯端末の表示画面上にはデータのダウンロード中である旨の『データ通信中です』等のメッセージや、通信中である旨のアイコンを画面上に表示している。携帯端末のユーザは前記データ通信中である旨の表示画面を見ながら、目的の情報が携帯端末の画面に表示されるのを待っている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、近年、携帯端末の性能の向上と、取り扱えるデータの種類の増加により、ユーザがインターネット経由でデータを受信するデータ量は増加する傾向にある。したがって、取り扱うデータ量の増加に伴い、データの受信に必要とする時間も増加している。

本発明による広告表示システム及び広告表示方法は、携帯端末からインターネットおよび通信事業者が提供するコンテンツのデータ受信中に、携帯端末の表示画面にデータ受信中を示す表示と共に広告データを表示することを特徴とする。
